Does cross-stitching excite you? Are you fascinated by watching the paint dry on your recently finished General Lee model? Are you almost finished with your life-sized toothpick replica of Cooter's Garage? Talk about your favorite hobbies here!

  1. Started by Garrett Duke,

Well we are two thirds through the regular baseball season and a lot of you know how big of a NASCAR fan I am, well I am just a big of a fan of baseball as I am with NASCAR. Anyone else a big baseball fan? If so, which teams and players do you like or follow? How's your season going? I am a big Chicago Cubs fan and has been since I was four or five years old and will be a Cubs fan til the day I die. My baseball season starts and ends when the Cubs season starts and ends...am interested in who wins the World Series, but don't get too excited about it unless by chance the Cubs would ever make it to the WS. As for their season, well, if I had to be honest, would say they ar…

I am new to the Hazzardnet (and have little computer skills but I'm learning). I'm excited about figuring out how to navigate this website and meet people who love Hazzard County as much as I do. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has ever put together a map of Hazzard? I did it when the show was first out but now that I have all 7 years on DVD I can get a much more accurate map because I won't miss any episodes and I can "rewind" something if I didn't hear it clearly. I am watching every episode and keeping a notebook of the following catagories 1)residents 2)businesses 3)roads 4)landmarks 5)water 6)neighboring counties 7)other misc. When I've seen all the…

Hi all. These first couple posts are repeats from my "new Member" thread, but this is where I'll keep posting my updates. I found this forum recently when so many of my google image searches kept bringing me here, usually to one of Hoss's great posts. All of the image searches are because I'm in the planning and early building stages of creating a Dukes rc car chase for my Youtube channel (it's an RC car channel). I just picked up a Kyosho Phazer with a 70 Charger body, so I have a little work to do to convert it to a 69 General. One way that I'm trying to separate my video(s) from those that are already out there is that I really wa…

I thought we should have a single thread to post information about Dukes-related diecast models, new and old. My interest lies in 1:18 scale models, but feel free to discuss other scales. Sadly, I don't currently have the funds or the space to add to my diecast collection (especially with a less favorable exchange rate than it was a few years back). That doesn't mean that I've stopped looking at new releases, so I thought I'd start this thread with a slightly belated round-up of some Dukes-related 1:18 scale cars that came out in the months before Christmas. The first three are released under the Johnny Lightning name, but I think they all use the old ERTL molds. The firs…

Anyone else excited about the football season starting? If so which games are you excited for and what team are you going for? As my title states, chicago Bears are my favorite team...they are playing the Indianapolis Colts today. Right now the Bears just got a touch down and are leading 24 to 14 going into half time. This Bears fan is excited thus far...Jay Cutler and the Bears are on fire today.

  7. I recently started working on an MPC General Lee build. I know the Revell '69 Charger kit is a much better kit, in fact I have a couple of those. However I wanted to see if I can make the MPC kit just a little bit nicer and more accurate. The kit I'm building is the most resent issue by Round 2. I have an original issue from back when the Dukes Of Hazzard was first on the air with the incorrect rear window. I was happy that the newest issue comes with the correct tunnel back rear window. Well when I opened the box the tunnel back rear window didn't quite look right. The molding is too wide and the shape looked off. I took out one of my Revell '69 Charge…

Hey y'all people who like to draw. What things have you drawn? What do you like to draw? Share it here

  9. It doesn't have to be something that was made or eaten on the show. Apple Betty 4 cups thinly sliced apples 1/4 cup orange juice 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup white sugar 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 pinch salt 1/2 cup butter Preheat oven to 375F degrees. Lightly grease a 9 inch pie plate. Mound sliced apples in the pie plate, then sprinkle with orange juice. In a medium bowl - mix the flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Scatter over the apples. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes. Serve warm.

  12. Hey y'all, Been away from you too long, working on what I thought was an impossible project that I almost gave up on. I'm now ready to begin posting an amazing (and frustrating) journey to build the most accurate Cooter's Tow Truck ever done. Maybe. First off, there were several tow trucks used over the series. Here's (mostly) when each appears: -Season 1: Brown Chevy, simple tow rig -Season 2: White/Blue Ford with Red Holmes wrecker -Seasons 3-4: Big Yellow Ford -Late Season 4 through 7: White/Blue GMC with Red Holmes wrecker By far my favorite is the GMC. There was also a similar White/Blue Chevy with a much …

anybody else here have horses as a hobby? well actually i wouldn't consider horses as a hobby either. i'd consider them what my life revolves around.

  14. Started by RogerDuke,

Here are the NFL playoff teams. Pick who you think will win the Super Bowl and who you think they'll beat. Pick one team from each of the two conferences. You're picking who you THINK will win, not necessarily who you WANT to win. If you'd like, put a little side note in there with who you WANT to win. National Football Conference Packers 49ers Vikings Falcons Seahawks Redskins American Football Conference Colts Patriots Texans Ravens Broncos Bengals ROGER DUKE PICKS THE FALCONS TO BEAT THE TEXANS IN THE SUPER BOWL GO ATLANTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So in my spare time I sometimes make plush models of things out of felt and stuffing. Now I hadn't designed any new ones since 2009, but when I started re-watching Dukes earlier this year, I knew...I KNEW...what the next one had to be. He's about 10.5" long. It took a lot of reference pics/screenshots and scratch paper to puzzle out the geometry, but I love how he turned out. Now he sits on my sofa in front of my TV.

  17. On to project #10: Hughie Hogg's Volkswagen! The first thing I discovered was that it was NOT repeat NOT a true convertible. Rather, it was a chop-top, as evidenced by the sedan-style windscreen, and the bottoms of the window posts still remaining. The second thing I had to learn was the difference between the classic Beetle and the Super Beetle. Some of you already know this, but it was new to me. Although the differences are easy to miss at first glance, I now see clearly that Hughie's ride was most definitely a Super Beetle with the roof cut off. After much more research and guidance from folks at an automotive modeling forum,…

  18. Okay, on to my next project: Daisy's Plymouth! I much prefer the look of the SECOND car used, the one that went over the cliff (actually I prefer how it looked BEFORE, but nevermind). It just looks sleeker to me, plus it was used in more episodes (14 vs 9). First, let's dispel some rumors and falsehoods: -Rumor # 1: Daisy's second car was a Plymouth Roadrunner, either '71 or '72 depending on where you read. -The Truth #1: Apparently it was probably a '71 Plymouth Satellite Sebring with some '71 GTX features including a non-Sebring hood. Therefore, it shall henceforth be referred to simply as "Daisy's Plymouth". -Rumor #2: Daisy's fir…

  19. Hi. One of my hobbies is collecting and racing slot cars. My collect would not be complete of course with out a General Lee slot car. Back in the early 80's Ideal toys made a Duke of Hazzard set with a General Lee and Roscoe's police car. Even though this was not a great quality set if filled the need. Now Auto World has made a new General Lee and much better quality. They have also created a better Roscoe's police car. This summer they plan to launch more Dukes of Hazzard cars. My layout at home has a Boar's nest and the duke farm house. I have over 2000 cars in my collection and it is one great hobby. I have also made some custom cars such as Cooter's towtruck. I have B…

Baseball is in pre-season. March Madness is getting ready to start. The NBA and NHL playoffs will be here before you know it. And of course, NASCAR is starting another season with everybody chasing J.J. Post your feelings here for sports and please be respectful of other people's teams. (Of course I had to add that because I like the worst team in baseball, the Pittsburgh Pirates)...okay, you folks can make fun of the Pirates a little bit if you want to. By the way, does anybody know which forum that NASCAR thread is located?

  21. For those who didn't know, the Charger wreck used in Episode 4 "Repo Men" was the same car that made the jump at the very end of the show's opening credits. LOVED this car the first time I saw it as a kid, did not know how important it was until decades later. Replicating this wreck in 1/25 will be a VERY ambitious project.

  22. I started working on another General Lee model. This is the 1/25 scale MPC Snap Kit General Lee. I started by re-shaping the rear window. It's basically a rectangle in the kit so I made it a bit larger and rounded at the top and also changed the angle to be a bit more steep. I added missing window trim under the side windows and made the rear wheel openings slightly smaller in the rear. The body is painted 1975 Corvette Flame Red which was the color most used on the General Lee(s) in the TV show. The paint is from Gravity Colors. The decals represent the early Georgia car which is my favorite look. In a few days I'll spray the clear coat on the body. …

  23. Meant to post this earlier when I finished it. Had to combine two kits to make it. Plenty of scratchbuilding in this one, including seat detailing, CB radio and antenna, rear view mirror, sun visors and of course the steer horns. Very intense build; here is a link to the in-progress photos: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/142988-boss-hogg-70-cadillac-deville-convertible/ And now, on to the photos....

I am interested in starting a fantasty football league on Yahoo if anyone is interested. If not that is OK as well, just thought I would see if anyone would join if I started one or not. It would all be free to play and only for fun...Roger can tell you how horrible I am in fantasy sports. HA HA. So if anyone is interested or has questions on how it all works, you can PM me or write them here and I will do my best to answer them...though will have to start in the next couple of weeks if I do start it since the season will be starting up in a month or so...

  25. I love art! I love making art, viewing art, learning about art work... Well, my friends, I found a wonderful painting that I'm sure all of you would love! It's a Masterpiece! If any of you are fimilar with the caveman paintings in France, you'll love this one! Even if you don't like the caveman paintings, I think if you're visiting Hazzardnet, you'll want to see this work of art! It goes to show you, that cavemen had good taste in art too! Actually it's painted by a man named Brandon Bird. The name of the work is called "Two Warriors Come Out of the Sky". http://www.brandonbird.com/twowarriors.html Tell me what you think! I personally love it! This artist has captured t…
