Hobbies

Does cross-stitching excite you? Are you fascinated by watching the paint dry on your recently finished General Lee model? Are you almost finished with your life-sized toothpick replica of Cooter's Garage? Talk about your favorite hobbies here!

Is anybody here into astronomy? I've been an amateur astronomer for 15 years. There's going to be a pretty good meteor show tonight. If you live in a city you will only be able to see the really bright ones because bright artificial lights drown them out. Of course if it's cloudy you're out of luck no matter where you live. Hopefully somebody besides me will get to check out the show.

Supercars are auctioning a rare (only 8 made) 1:18 dirty 22ct gold model of General Lee on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/1969-GENERAL-LEE-CHARGER-1-18-Gold-Plated-1-8-/260642294899?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item3caf7dcc73 Get in quick - the auction ends August 11th. Just so you know - last year they auctioned 2 equally rare clean 22ct gold Generals which went for about €1500 a piece. In case you read this after the auction finishes - here's what you missed:

  3. On to project #10: Hughie Hogg's Volkswagen! The first thing I discovered was that it was NOT repeat NOT a true convertible. Rather, it was a chop-top, as evidenced by the sedan-style windscreen, and the bottoms of the window posts still remaining. The second thing I had to learn was the difference between the classic Beetle and the Super Beetle. Some of you already know this, but it was new to me. Although the differences are easy to miss at first glance, I now see clearly that Hughie's ride was most definitely a Super Beetle with the roof cut off. After much more research and guidance from folks at an automotive modeling forum,…

Im new to this, this General Lee hot wheels Mustang GTD is the very first one I did.

  5. Started by Jim85IROC,

Hi all. These first couple posts are repeats from my "new Member" thread, but this is where I'll keep posting my updates. I found this forum recently when so many of my google image searches kept bringing me here, usually to one of Hoss's great posts. All of the image searches are because I'm in the planning and early building stages of creating a Dukes rc car chase for my Youtube channel (it's an RC car channel). I just picked up a Kyosho Phazer with a 70 Charger body, so I have a little work to do to convert it to a 69 General. One way that I'm trying to separate my video(s) from those that are already out there is that I really wa…

Anyone on here do YouTube as a hobby? Like I mean with your own channels and stuff? I want to learn more about running a channel.

  7. Started by Tom Duke,

Howdy y’all, so I just got gifted a nice acoustic guitar in great shape, music/guitar stand, books, picks, tuner gadget, etc I want to learn but I wonder if anyone here has any advice or experience on learning guitar. I would love to teach myself how to play Good Ol Boys or General Lee by Johnny Cash. Or Momma’s don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys. Let me know y’all!

I play Red Dead Online almost everyday, and there this NPC that takes care of your camp when you're gone named Cripps and you can buy different outfits for him and he reminded me of a sassier Uncle Jesse so I bought him overalls

I am new to the Hazzardnet (and have little computer skills but I'm learning). I'm excited about figuring out how to navigate this website and meet people who love Hazzard County as much as I do. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has ever put together a map of Hazzard? I did it when the show was first out but now that I have all 7 years on DVD I can get a much more accurate map because I won't miss any episodes and I can "rewind" something if I didn't hear it clearly. I am watching every episode and keeping a notebook of the following catagories 1)residents 2)businesses 3)roads 4)landmarks 5)water 6)neighboring counties 7)other misc. When I've seen all the…

  10. Just to remind y'all: YES, they used a '74 Roadrunner which appeared in 5 of the first 9 episodes, then beginning with episode 11 they switched to a '71 Satellite Sebring in a Roadrunner paint scheme, hoping nobody would notice (we did). Some prefer the '74; personally I prefer the '71, finding it much sleeker and meaner looking with the wraparound bumper/grill assembly. Base kit is the Revell/Monogram '71 Plymouth GTX. Modifications include: -Replacement hood -Smaller-block engine (from 71 Duster) -Completely rebuilt & boosted rear suspension -Replacement tires -Wheel hubs from '77 Ford van Additionally, …

Was looking around and came across this 3D Printing company called ShapeWays. And seen they have parts for the Georgia Era General Lee for Revell's 1968-70 Dodge Chargers

  12. So far, my Quest to provide and fill the hole left by Revell, MPC, AMT, ERTL, R2, and Auto-world has lead me to create General Lee Creations from a Facebook page, to a full blown model making Hobby/Company, I am going to be releasing My own custom Modeled 1969 Dodge charger General Lee Alongside a SLA printed Bo and Luke due in 1/43 scale (The Bo and Luke duke models weren't created by myself, but a very competent user on Cults3D, and I bought the rights to use these figures though the Charger is all my work, 100%) and by Q3 of 2024 I will have 1/25 models ready to roll off the line for any one who may want one along side figures of all your favorite cast members, Rosco, …

Hi all, I have been trying to find a good set of 1:24 decals for General Lee but have been quite unlucky. I guess finding them in Europe is even more challenging than it is in America. The ones I have bought always have a flaw: too big, too long, too narrow... The man in my hobby shop suggested I should print my own set. So, I was wondering if someone knows were can I get/buy a good quality file (preferably vectorial) to do my own printing. Thanks!

  14. Hey y'all, Been away from you too long, working on what I thought was an impossible project that I almost gave up on. I'm now ready to begin posting an amazing (and frustrating) journey to build the most accurate Cooter's Tow Truck ever done. Maybe. First off, there were several tow trucks used over the series. Here's (mostly) when each appears: -Season 1: Brown Chevy, simple tow rig -Season 2: White/Blue Ford with Red Holmes wrecker -Seasons 3-4: Big Yellow Ford -Late Season 4 through 7: White/Blue GMC with Red Holmes wrecker By far my favorite is the GMC. There was also a similar White/Blue Chevy with a much …

I have been collecting 80's toys since the late 90's. Got a fairly big dukes collection as well as transformers from the 80's and literally up til now. I have some of the OG masters of the universe stuff and some of the repop stuff from the last couple of years. Got some knight rider stuff and fall guy stuff. A decent amount of the old stomper trucks and several of the stomper track sets. Still have my bmx bike from the 80's and recently picked up a very decent DK General Lee bicycle. Just enjoy remembering the best childhood anyone could have ever asked for.

  16. Meant to post this earlier when I finished it. Had to combine two kits to make it. Plenty of scratchbuilding in this one, including seat detailing, CB radio and antenna, rear view mirror, sun visors and of course the steer horns. Very intense build; here is a link to the in-progress photos: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/142988-boss-hogg-70-cadillac-deville-convertible/ And now, on to the photos....

  17. Started by MoonRunner-01,

Going to be building my 2nd 1/25 General Lee. My first build I did not add a C.B or the Antenna. Could anyone possibly help me with a "build sheet" for scratch building the Cobra C.B and the RadioShack Antenna. I'd sure appreciate it.

Well we are two thirds through the regular baseball season and a lot of you know how big of a NASCAR fan I am, well I am just a big of a fan of baseball as I am with NASCAR. Anyone else a big baseball fan? If so, which teams and players do you like or follow? How's your season going? I am a big Chicago Cubs fan and has been since I was four or five years old and will be a Cubs fan til the day I die. My baseball season starts and ends when the Cubs season starts and ends...am interested in who wins the World Series, but don't get too excited about it unless by chance the Cubs would ever make it to the WS. As for their season, well, if I had to be honest, would say they ar…

What do I do? I paint. I paint pictures of photos I"ve taken or whatever comes to mind. And, just to keep things intersting, I teach drawing and painting at a local high school. I've got more, I'll post 'em later.

  21. Hey folks, Had a few requests here and elsewhere to see the entire lineup (so far) of my Hazzard County fleet which has been under construction for the past 6 years. None of these are out-of-the-box, each taking a huge investment of time, research and effort. Greatest challenges were in the tow truck. Next project is already in the research and materials-gathering stage. Hope you enjoy!

  22. Okay, on to my next project: Daisy's Plymouth! I much prefer the look of the SECOND car used, the one that went over the cliff (actually I prefer how it looked BEFORE, but nevermind). It just looks sleeker to me, plus it was used in more episodes (14 vs 9). First, let's dispel some rumors and falsehoods: -Rumor # 1: Daisy's second car was a Plymouth Roadrunner, either '71 or '72 depending on where you read. -The Truth #1: Apparently it was probably a '71 Plymouth Satellite Sebring with some '71 GTX features including a non-Sebring hood. Therefore, it shall henceforth be referred to simply as "Daisy's Plymouth". -Rumor #2: Daisy's fir…

I want to do a 1/25 model kit of the General based on Revell's 69 Charger. The big issue seems to be the decals. All internet searches seem to point to jbot.ca as the best, but he hasn't been in business since 2018. Anyone have a suggestion for some accurate, complete water slide decals these days?

  24. Started by HossC,

I thought we should have a single thread to post information about Dukes-related diecast models, new and old. My interest lies in 1:18 scale models, but feel free to discuss other scales. Sadly, I don't currently have the funds or the space to add to my diecast collection (especially with a less favorable exchange rate than it was a few years back). That doesn't mean that I've stopped looking at new releases, so I thought I'd start this thread with a slightly belated round-up of some Dukes-related 1:18 scale cars that came out in the months before Christmas. The first three are released under the Johnny Lightning name, but I think they all use the old ERTL molds. The firs…
