General Discussion

Howdy folks! I set this General Discussion section under Fanfiction for all those occasions when somebody's got something to say but it's not a RR story, a story in progress or a Fanfic announcement. So you've noticed I moved some topics out of the RR section and over here. =) Lisa

Say NO to one liners! You heard it, were saying no to one liner posts on the Round Robin forum. Are you tired of scouting all over this site looking for a half decent story to read? Are you tired of scrolling down and down and going through page after page of one sentence posts on the Round Robin forum? Well... I AM!!! So step right up here if you want it to come to end, to stop this non-sense! Enough is enough! Its time this was a respectable board again with some decent writing and reading material. The wonderful administrators of this site have gone through so much to make plenty of different boards for all different kinds of writing. One liners are for the Role Pla…

Yup, sure does. =\

Brian, Not to be too demanding or anything but...where's that update to the front page of the site you promised, oh two months ago? And what about that DukesFest summary? And how about some of the other news tidbits and items you've found but haven't done anything with? Oh, and how come there's no Pepsi left in the vending machine?! Please get back to me ASAP. Or else. MaryAnne

Hey Y'all! Just curious here, and thought I would ask everyone this question: What is the reasoning behind the usernames y'all picked? I'll go first... General Lee was the General for the confederate army in the Civil War, General Grant (my username) was the General for the Union Army in the Civil War. Well, the Dukes are from the south, I'm from the north. It seemed fitting since thier car was the General Lee, to have my username as General Grant. Did that make any sense?! Anyway, it would be interesting to hear about how everyone else got their usenames. General Grant

~ ~ ~ For a forgetful mind's sake I thought I would make the unbirthday birthday page. Since this is where people come the most...I thought I would put it here. This way, people can not only celebrate your birthday by remembering where it is on a long 12 month calendar but they can celebrate their birth on all the other 364 days of the year. So let's party. Don't forget to put your b-days down so we know when to send you that special word. HAPPY (UN)BIRTHDAY ~ ~ ~~ ~~~~~~ Mine is August 10th

Thanks!

This place was filled with friendship, I came here to have fun. I met the nicest people the world has ever known, Now I must say these few words. We talked about anything especailly this show, I met not just friends but some of the best people I have ever known. I suppose the people know who they are but can never realize, How special they really are and how wonderful their hearts are inside. How can I ever express how grateful I am? Can I sing a song, tell a joke or just be by your side? Could I help you with a problem? Can I talk to you forever...just to hear some wonderful words from your lips? I wish to say something to all of you that I have ever met, You have been t…

Ive been looking around Hazzardnet lately, and looking at some of the writing on the more open boards, especially a board that used to be my favorite past time, a place I once really enjoyed writing on. The Round Robin Board. For those of you who dont know me, Iam Chet Duke and Ive been known for alotta trouble around Hazzardnet over the many years (almost 10 years) Ive been here. But no matter how much trouble I got into I ALWAYS made the best effort to write legible so people could understand what I was doing, where I was and who I was. I believe theres alotta other people here, weather they simply be readers or writers that can chime in when I say I cant understand a…

Hey Everyone, I aplogize ahead of time, because this is a long letter. But, I got this in the form of an email, and I like it so much that I wanted to share it: One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name. THEN SHE TOLD THEM TO THINK OF THE NICEST THING THEY COULD SAY ABOUT EACH OF THEIR CLASSMATES AND WRITE IT DOWN. IT TOOK THE REMAINDER OF THE CLASS PERIOD TO FINISH THEIR ASSIGNMENT, AND AS THE STUDENTS LEFT THE ROOM, EACH ONE HANDED IN THE PAPERS. THAT SATURDAY, THE TEACHER WROTE DOWN THE NAME OF EACH STUDENT ON A SEPARATE SHEET OF PAPER, AND LISTED WHAT EVERYON…

who do YOU thinks is a better actor Bo or Luke?

I read more than one fandom, several genres actually. But I just want to say I am constantly impressed by the quality of writing on Hazzardnet. Unfortunately most fanfiction I find in other genres read like written by rabid fangirls (and most are), but Dukes of Hazzard seems to have acquired a singular quality of fanfiction that rare to find. Keep up the good work, y'all.

I was thinking about opening up a RP site so that people can play particular characters and what not. I know you guys know how all that works because I believe I may have rp'd with some of you all before. I'm thinking about making it through greatestjournal because I've had a lot of experience with that and find that I like it the best. I don't have all the details right now, but those of you who are interested let me know what you think. Either post here or leave me a message. I'm really interested in getting this started and hope that I can find some more people that are willing to participate. Just thought I'd throw the idea out there. Thanks Ya'll.

To me, Hazzard County is not just small county that Warner brothers had created while they had planned up the Dukes of Hazzard, but a place that holds a lot of meanings wrapped into one word. To me Hazzard is a place full of love and understanding, a place where there is no discrimination of one another; where everyone is treated rightly no matter what. There is no better or no worse between people. Hazzard County was a peaceful little town filled with the corrupt law that patrolled over the small community of farmers, moon shine runners, a few small businesses; and most of all, of neighbors that cared about one another, looked out for one another. A small town with the …

Off the top, there must be at least 10 different story telling, which of most beginners and late comers and people like me who have been gone a long time , just can't play. Maybe it's just me, but the one Kay started , which I am part of , never gets any attention like the other ones do, only mostly me , Daisy and Kay, well 80% of the time anyways. I am just ranting, but to me there is just to many on this site.....

Hi folks! Just an FYI that Brian and I will be out of Hazzard for awhile. In fact, we'll be out of the country. More 'n that, we'll be out of this planet! LOL. We've enlisted with Star Fleet and will be collberating on a Star Trek fic. We'll see you on the other side of the galaxy. Live long and prosper. =) MaryAnne

A few days ago as I was driving down the local highway in the company vehicle, a similar sound floated on the radio waves and the tune from the local classic rock station sent a pang in my sentimental heart. The song that played was called "Wild Horses" and was performed by the band "The Rolling Stones". I felt my lip quiver and I could have cried but I knew I needed to keep my composure because I was picking up two of my "clients" in about a half hour and confidence is of the essence in my line of work. For it was about five years ago, I was sitting in a tiny dorm room, curled in a blanket and typing the Romance of a muse whom I adore. I could only dream of her life, and…

Rosco? Grady Byrd? or Hughie Hogg?

Well I have been writing one form of fan fic or another for several years now. Started out with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to C.H.i.P.s and then onto the Dukes of Hazzard. Been stuck in Hazzard county well over ten years now...perhaps fifteen? I can't remember, but I can't imagine writing about anything else. Anyway, I have my DOH fanfic series plus a few other stories and the such on Mary Anne's DOH fanfic site (Thanks Mary Anne ). I am on my third story of my series of which my personally created characters Kristy and Garrett Duke are in...and stuck on chapter five since like February. I can't even remember the last time I was motivated to write it not alone know whe…
