According to this weeks issue of People magazine, Warner Bros. have cast the parts of Bo and Luke for the upcoming big screen movie. Sean William Scott, aka "Stiffler" form American Pie, is to play Bo Duke and Johnny Knoxville, of "Jackass" fame, is to play Luke Duke. As for Daisy, Jessica Simpson was seen arriving at Warner Bros studios dressed in Daisy Duke attire reportedly for a script reading. The Studio also announced that negotiations are underway for Burt Reynolds to play Boss Hogg.

I know this is nit-picky, but couldn't the editors have done something about the way Bo climbs out of the General? It looks very bad. It shows that Sean William Scott never got it down pat. Almost every time he's got one foot on the ground and the other still stuck inside. And I read an interview about him and Johny Knoxville....Sean says it was hard getting out of those windows. But if anyone on the movie set had bothered to refer to the old tv series (so that they might actually have a CLUE as to how the Dukes of Hazzard should be), they would notice that John Schnieder: 1. First, he raises his torso out of the car and, just for a second, sits on the door. 2. Then, whil…

I'm not sure (without reading everything) if anyone's posting about this DVD from England, but I managed to find a copy on sale last week in HMV (a British music chain-store) It's quite amusing in places; Luke crying as Daisy tells him about the virginity pledges Loulou stuffing the Turkey with Luke Not sure about a seemingly gay Cooter though???? Finding the General in a pool???, at odds with the boys getting it off a used-car lot in the TV series April Scott as Daisy??? Hot!!!!!!!!! As Mike Myers used to say in 'Waynes World'.... "Schwing!!!!!!!!!!" That Simpson woman failed as Daisy, now Cathy Bach has a worthy successor

Well I saw the movie and loved it! I'm gonna try and see it again later this week. The girl I took liked it too and she's not country at all. Now the only thing I'm worried about is how much money it's gonna make cause lets face it, the only way we'll get a part two is if it does well at the box office. I went and saw it Friday night in Winter Park, FL, which is a very nice area in Orlando. Not a whole lot of people in that part of town that I thought would see this movie. In fact I parked my lifted F-150 between a Mercedez SLK 500 and a Dodge Viper. But to my surprise the movie theater was packed. I'm glad we got there a little early or we'd have been sitting in …

why don't we just boycott the movie? i know i'm not gonna go see it. it's downright shameful that they didn't get input from the original cast/crew...anyone else just doesn't work...they didn't even bother with getting people that looked like the original characters...ugh...it's just disgusting and disheartening and i refuse to go see the movie!!!!!

Heard a tidbit on the radio while the local DJ was going over the celebrity gossip. I apologize for not having the name of this singer accurate, I think it was....Jennifer somebody or another, who's got a current hit on the charts. (I confess I've got no earthly idea about who this chic is, this broadcast was halfway through by the time I got the radio volume up.) Anyhow, this singer had apparently shown interest in playing Daisy Duke in the upcoming Dukes movie. Reportedly, when Britany Spears heard this, she thew a fair-sized fit and was quoted as saying, "That role is MINE! I'M going to be Daisy Duke!" I've been digging around for casting info to try and confirm or…

There are times when my HazzardNet duties take me to the seedier side of the internet. And so I ventured over to what passes for the "official" site of Broken Lizard, to see if there were any references to the Dukes movie. I figured they'd be doing some heavy-duty bragging, what with their buddy Jay being the director. I only found one official comment, posted by one of the BL gang back in December: -------------------------------------------------------------------- kevin, 4 months ago (12/16/04 11:13AM PST): Howdy Amigos and Amigettes, Just got back from the Dukes of Hazzard set in Baton Rouge. Shot a small part. (Everyone's getting some face time. It's Lemme's tu…

I haven't read all through this forum yet so I don't know if this has already been discussed... The pictures are here and here. What do you suppose the story is behind the weird "General Lee" in those pictures? The paint is a lighter orange (looks like it is supposed to be faded?), the wheels are black stamped steel, there is no push bumper, the "01" is in the "wrong" type of font and there doesn't seem to be anything painted on the roof (no flag or "General Lee" text that I can see). From all the other pictures of the General Lee on that site and other sites, we know that the General Lee to be in this new movie is pretty faithful to the car from the original series (oth…

So long as we're Christmas shoppin' for what we'd like in the new Dukes flick, lemme throw this one out there. Besides the '69 Charger starring as the General Lee, what other types of late-model cars or muscle cars would you want on the big screen? I remember that a Mustang was in the first reunion movie, and I enjoyed the fact that it was companionable to the General as far as age goes. (Anybody remember it, the "Double Zero?" I dont' recall the model year of the Mustang - it's a Ford, so you'll have to excuse me. But it sets a good example. It also got it's own die-cast release by ERTL. So WB could clean up on merchandising above and beyond the General Lee toys, …

Ok, here's the $64 million question. Who do you think could fill the shoes of the original cast in a big screen version of The Dukes of Hazzard. Post your cast ideas here. Personally, I think Willie Nelson could make a pretty good Uncle Jesse! Once we've received enough ideas, we'll put up a poll and let you all vote for your favorites. Here's one list we've already received... Bo - Owen Wilson Luke - John Cusack Daisy - Alyssa Milano Uncle Jesse - Robert Duval Rosco - Chevy Chase Enos - Ben Stiller Boss Hogg - John Goodman Cooter - Jesse James Balladeer - Mickey Dean

Last night at a friend of mines house, she showed me a website from a auto body and graphic design shop in Phenoix, AZ. I guess it's a pretty well known one because they created the cars for I-Robot, Demolition Man and some other movie I've never heard of. On the site they talked about how they were contracted by Warner Bros. to design a "more contemporary" General Lee for the movie. They actually built three of them and I guess Warner Bros. were actually seriously considering using their version but a few months before they started filming they changed their minds and decided to stick with the real General. It doesn't say why but one can only guess they didn't want t…
