Naw, it was the Tribune. That was a tough one. I wouldn't have known it if I wouldn't have just seen it. Here's one. Who is NancyLou Nelson? Her mother's name was Beverly Hibbs (when NancyLou was born). She was 18 on the show and the actress who played her was Kim Richards.- 3,820 replies

Those are all good ones Bo. Here's one when the bad guys were going to turn part of Hazzard County into a toxic waste dump. "Dumping toxic waste in Hazzard...why, friends, that's like polluting paradise."

I am curious about that book. Is David Hofstede just a fan or was he a friend of Gy Waldron's or something? Could you tell me a little more about how the book is laid out and what it's purpose is. I guess the "Unofficial" part concerns me. If it's unofficial, does that mean that it simply the author's personal interpretation of Hazzard County? Shoot, any Hazzard fan could do that.

Nice job, luke fan07, the only one you missed up was Whitewater Valley. Jensen's Bridge is the real Hazzard County landmark. To answer yours, Mel Tillis was on twice. He was on "The Rustlers" and "The Hazzardgate Tape" (the only singer to appear on a season 5 episode) I think the girl who played his daughter on "The Rustlers" ended up marrying Rosco (James Best..in real life). Maybe someone could confirm that. Which one of these is real? Ace Parker or Wendell Wilson Lone Pine Deli or Morgan's Glueworks (episode names) Road Pirates or Hazzard's Finest

You got it right luke fan07, I made up Racoon River. Which one of these was on and which is made up... Red Oak City or Cedar City Jensen's Bridge or Whitewater Valley Johnny Paycheck or Johnny Cash Hogg's Fireworks Factory or Hogg's Mining Company L.B. Davenport or Irene Hogg

Right Bo, it's Bo. MaryAnne, I just saw the Hughie Hogg episode and didn't even pay attention to the kind of car it was. (hangs head in shame) Now I'm wondering what the make of Enos's station wagon was that blew up on "Enos in Trouble". Here's a question from that episode. Enos was shown on the front page of an old newspaper from Los Angeles. Was the paper named The Los Angeles Times or Los Angeles Tribune?- 3,820 replies

I hate to tell you this but you missed all 3. Jeb McCobb lives in Hazzard Marsh. Walter's Paint Shop is in Possum Hollow and Bib Tarkey is an old friend of Jesse's. By the way, Del McCurdy is a bluegrass singer in real life and has never been on the show (although I wish he would have been.). I just made up the Judge and Flat Bottom Archery Shop although it sure sounds like something from Hazzard. Here's another...Boxtop Bend or Racoon River

What is the "Unofficial Companion"?
-
Yep, you're right, Frontage Road is real and Sassafrass Street is made up. Here's two I posted earlier that weren't answered: Jeb McCobb or Judge J.B. Shaftner Flat Bottom Archery Shop or Walter's Paint Shop ....and here's a new one....Bib Tarkey or Del McCurdy

You're right Luke fan 07, Hank Jr was never on but Buck Owens was. To answer yours, "Strange Visitor to Hazzard" is the real one. Hey Julie, I'm not sure what season Mrs Snodgrass was mentioned but it's early (first or second) and she is called Widow Snodgrass. Here's one: Frontage Road or Sassafrass Street

Has the Dukes Influemced You or Your children?
RogerDuke replied to LoriDavenport's topic in General Discussion
Another post that put a big smile on my face..... I guess that your quote at the bottom of your posts sums it all up. That's my all-time favorite quote from the show in the entire 7 seasons. Keep up the good attitude!! Possum on a gumbush. I'm gone. -
You're right Julie, Finchburg is the real one and Squirrel City is not. "THe Legacy" was a real episode and "Luke's Close Call" was not. (Although there was an episode titled "Close Call for Daisy") To answer yours, Mrs. Snodgrass and Capital City are the real ones. Here's one for you (or anybody else)...Buck Owens or Hank Williams Jr

Has the Dukes Influemced You or Your children?
RogerDuke replied to LoriDavenport's topic in General Discussion
Wow, luke fan07, what an awesome post!!! I was 19 when the Dukes first came out (I was actually born the exact same week John Schneider was). I've been influenced greatly by the Dukes ever since then and all of it has made me a better person. That may sound egotistical yet it's no credit to me but it's a tribute to Gy Waldron and all of the writers who gave the folks of Hazzard so much integrity. At a time in television when so much immorality had set in, the writers made fans from all walks of life see that The Good Book, respecting your elders, doing the right thing, working hard, putting values above money and taking chances to help others is cool. Sure people weren't perfect on the show (well, except Enos and Boss's twin Abe) but that just made it more real and easier to relate to them. I encourage you to continue to soak in all the good lessons that the Dukes teach. It's awesome that you look up to Uncle Jesse. I do to. He's my mentor and if I'm half as good of a man as him when I'm that age, I'll be doing alright!! I'm gone -

Right B.L., it's Big Dan Hogg. Here's one from "A Boys Best Friend". What's the name of the man who runs the Hazzard County Dog Pound? Is it Darcy Kinkaid, Mr. Winkle or Amos Stigger?- 3,820 replies

Here's a chance to show your knowledge of the show or get duped (tricked). Simply list two items and the responder has to answer which one was really on the show and which one is made up. I hope everybody likes this idea and submits their own "Duke or Dupe". Be creative. Here's some examples. Squirrel City or Finchburg Jeb McCobb or Judge J.B. Shaftner Walter's Paint Shop or Flat Bottom Archery Club episode names (which is real) Luke's Close Call or The Legacy

Shucks Bo, it took you 3 minutes to get that one. You're getting slow in your old age. You're right, it's Enos. Here's some old answers from questions I posted earlier that weren't responded to. In "Revenge of Hughie Hogg" it was Rosco's personal car that was on. It got beat up pretty bad but at least it didn't blow up like Enos's station wagon in another episode. In "The Great Insurance Fraud" it was Boss who masterminded the scheme. Rosco wanted to vacation in Hawaii. Bottomless Lake was the lake featured. Here's a question from "Boss Behind Bars". When the Beaudry's sabotaged Uncle Jesse's race car and made it look like Boss did it, it was their intention to get Boss put in jail so they could do what?- 3,820 replies

Wow Bo, that might be a record breaker...2 minutes for a correct answer. I guess somebody is home on this Hazzardnet. Here's a question from "The Boar's Nest Bears"... Uncle Jesse mentioned coaching 4 boys in basketball when they were youngsters. They were Bo, Luke, Cooter and who? (Boy, I'd like to see some old footage of those games.)- 3,820 replies
