Uncle Jesse...He's the rock that everybody leans on when times get really tough. I can see myself acting just like him in about 20 years...I'm already starting to now.

No matter what good things we say about the Duke family, none of them can top this quote. It comes from Uncle Jesse's old flame Lucinda Meadows and is on the episode "The Legacy" from season three...."I put myself in the hands of the Lord and He put me in the hands of the Dukes and I guess maybe you couldn't get a better combination than that."

Poor 'ol Waylon is the only one who hasn't had a post in 2007 so I thought I'd change that. His threads might be a little lonely. That reminds me of his quote from the end of "The Great Santa Claus Chase"....."Boss was feeling lonelier than 'ol Waylon at the Country Music Association Awards". For you youngsters who might not get that... despite his astronomical record sales and popularity, Waylon never seemed to get many formal awards. People loved him but the "Establishment" didn't. The reason was that he was such a rebel. He was always fighting the system like one modern day Robin Hood.

The episode that Jesse said his wife's name was Martha was "The Legacy" from season 3. He was talking to his old flame Lucinda Meadows.

You ain't never had heart before? Every fall I get my buck and put the heart in the freezer. On Valentine's Day I thaw it out and fry it up in butter for my wife. It's cheaper than buying them chocolate hearts and it's better for you. Now whoever said us old rednecks ain't romantic?

I got three for you. They're all true and they're all about me. 1) If you had your adult kid teach you how to use a computer this year because you wanted to see if there was anything about Hazzard County on it....you might be a redneck. 2) If the only thing you ever use your computer for is the Hazzardnet....you might be a redneck. 3) If you think Charlie Daniels running against Uncle Jesse for President of the Universe is a win-win situation...you might be a redneck. Even though I'm 47, I can count the concerts I've been to on one hand. Johnny Cash (1980) Montgomery Gentry (I only saw them because Charlie Daniels was performing first) Tom Wopat (awesome) and Charlie Daniels Band(twice). Charlie is "The Man". I wish he'd run for President. If only he would have had a guest appearance on Dukes. I guess Rosco couldn't catch Charlie and his boys in his speedtrap. I would have loved to have seen a full episode with him like they did with Loretta Lynn....I guess you can't blame a redneck for dreaming. Possum on a gumbush. I'm gone.

There are some recent posts about people taking off work to go to Nascar races so I thought of my friend when I saw this post. I know a guy who is actually taking off work to see the opening of Spiderman today. As for me, I'll wait for it to come out on DVD. Although I have to admit I like the way he jumps over things. Folks here in Hazzard County don't need a webslinger though. That reminds me of when Daisy drove Enos to the airport to go to LA.... Daisy, "Ever flown before Enos?" Enos, "No, just a car."

This isn't really a random clothes sighting but a random music story. The building I work in is going through renovations and last week there was a welder there who I bumped into in his mid 20s. I was walking by the vending machine he was putting money into and guess what he was singing? I didn't hear the beginning but as soon as I heard "never meaning no harm" I stopped in my tracks, introduced myself and it went from there. I told him about the Hazzardnet so who knows, maybe we'll hear from him.

I know what you mean about painful. That was a rough place. The prison boss there was also the drug ring leader in "Mason Dixon's Girls". Of course there was enough time between those two episodes that not many people would notice that they cast the same actor to be a drug lord and prison warden. Watching that episode makes me appreciate Rosco. Thank goodness Hazzard County has fun lawmen (and women...Daisy was a deputy once). I'm gone.

Hey Jimbo, welcome to Hazzard County. We have a couple things in common. I was a fan BITD too. (I'm new to computer talk so it took me awhile to figure out what that meant). I'm relatively new to the Hazzardnet also. I hope you hang around town for awhile. It's nice to know there are "old timers" like us out there with this common bond. Speaking of "The Bandit", in "R.I.P. Henry Flatt", when they show the movie theater, the sign over it said that "The Bandit" was playing.

When it comes to "Dukes of Hazzard" there is no useless trivia. It's all important to us. As Rosco would say, "I love it. I love it. I love it." I'm gone.

At first I thought of "My Town" by Montgomery Gentry then I realized you wrote "Our Town". Nevertheless, the Montgomery Gentry song does remind me a lot of Hazzard. I'm gone.

I agree with you about Coy and Vance. At least the quality of writing didn't suffer when Bo and Luke were gone and (of course) the other main characters were always perfect at their job no matter which Duke boys were riding in the General. I'm also a big Enos fan. In fact he was my favorite character the whole time the show was out. Now that I'm a little older (47) I've switched to Uncle Jesse as my favorite. Coincidently, I'm also in season 3 I just watched "Good Neighbors Duke" tonight. I'm making a map of Hazzard County. Go to "Hobbies" if you're interested in getting an idea of what it will be like. Welcome to the Hazzardnet FLDukefan. The folks here sure are full of that southern hospitality that you're probably accustomed to (even though some of us are only southern at heart). I agree completely about those replacement sheriffs. I just can't imagine Hazzard County without Rosco Pervus Coltrane. Not having Rosco there makes about as much sense as a farm without dirt. I think I'm going to buy it. I guess I'll have to sell the farm though. You can live in a car but you can't drive a barn. Where's that title? I'm ready to sign.

Here's something interesting about Boss. I paused the part in "Baa Baa White Sheep" in which the Sheriff of Finchburg briefly held onto Abraham Lincoln Hogg's drivers license. For date of birth it read April 6, 1926. Since he is Boss's twin this means Boss was only about 54 at that time. Since Boss is supposed to be about the same age as Jesse, this appears to be a blooper since Jesse (and Boss) are clearly much older than 54. Also, Abraham's residency on the license is Hazzard and since he hadn't lived there in decades, that seemed inaccurate. I'm sure the writers didn't put much thought into it at the time because they weren't considering pause buttons. I'm gone.

After loooking at "Episodes", I found a post by EnosFan (from 3-8-07) that said that "Uncle Boss" was filmed in season 2 but aired in season 3. That clears things up. Thanks a lot EnosFan. I'm gone.

Speaking of which, change can be extra confusing in Hazzard. The "Furniture Mart" turned into Seth M Berley & Company in season 3 and later in season 3 (Uncle Boss) it turned back into the Furniture Mart. "Uncle Boss" is also one of the episodes in which Daisy's yellow car returns after being destroyed in season 2. Well, old Waylon said it many times...anything can happen in Hazzard. I see that Hank Jr's 25th anniversary of "Country Boy Can Survive" has hit number one in CMT's videos this week. That song and "What the world needs is a few more rednecks" by The Charlies Daniels Band remind me a lot of them Duke boys. What other songs make you think of them?

I'm 47 and live in the woods of northwestern Pennsylvania about a mile from where I grew up. I'm a real redneck just like the Dukes but I don't jump things in my car although occasionally I do on my Yamaha dirt bike. I don't chase girls like them Duke boys either....I'm very happily married.

And here's another thing that's great about Hazzard County. Where else can you mention pigs being happy in 3 day old slop and have it come out as a compliment. I tell you what...them there folks on shows like Beverly Hills 90210 and Desperate Housewives just don't know how to live. I really feel sorry for them people. Sure, in Hazzard we have just as many problems as anybody else. But they ain't nothing that can't be fixed by jumping over a creek or talking to Uncle Jesse or calling Cooter's towtruck.

Wow, I thought Luke was supposed to be the smart one that did all the thinking but Bo, you put so much thought into that, it made my head spin. After it stopped spinning I smiled a lot. It's nice to know that there's people out there like you. Someday, them there fancy dancy city slicker folks out there in Hollywood will realize that the world wants to return to the fun simple life of Hazzard County. When they do, hopefully they'll plug into the Hazzardnet and read your post Bo. If they follow those instructions they'll have another hit on their hands.
