It's been widely reported that Ashton Kutcher was gonna have a leading role in the upcoming Dukes movie, but I've come across new information that conflicts with this. Ashton is currently working on another project for Columbia Pictures. The movie is called "The Dinner Party" and went into production 06/21/04. The movie is slated for release next summer, just about when Dukes was supposed to come out. (the name of Ashton's project was blandly listed as, "Untitled Bernie Mac/Ashton Kutcher Project" , I had to dig around just to get the name of the movie. Sheesh, why is this stuff such a military secret?) Anyhoo...as Dukes was supposed to hit production this last spr…

Few I think love the TV show the Dukes of Hazzard more than I do. Let me express it this way theres a story behind my affection. Back in 1981 when at a crossroads in my car building business in Idaho, I was in the march of going to the 1981 Salt Lake City Autorama. We at the shop had a different car nearly built, when on a scouting trip to find white go-go boots for the display, I ran across a duplicate General Lee. That was so exact it was teriffc. So then, the guy who built that car was going on a LDS Mission, and needed to sell the car, so I did what any good Duke fan would do, I bought it. Touched it up, replaced the 318 with a tweaked 440, and entered the Salt Lake C…

Being new to this board, I'm not sure how much of my opinion I should put forth, but . . . it seems to me like this movie is just another attempt to cash in on 80's nostalgia. I'm a bit of a purist though, and it seems to me like the producers and creators of The Dukes would endear themselves to us more if they made another original tv movie. It would probably go over better than a big screen version with actors we've never heard of or heard of in passing. (IE Jessica Simpson) Wouldn't you rather see John, Tom, Jimmy and Sonny in another movie than see other people play them? Granted, the last two movies were pretty poorly scripted, but they were basically good fun an…

After a call to Cooter's Place, and some research, I will go ahead and confirm to all of you that the Confederate Flag will not, I repeat WILL NOT be on the 68/69 Dodge Charger. It will have the 01, and the General Lee name, but NO flag. How yall like them apples? Kinda tart ain't they? Leaves a bad taste in my mouth to be quite honest. Political Correctness can kiss my Rebel Arse. I will be avidly PROTESTING this movie in my area.

I have an idea of who should be Daisy..Now don't trash me on this... Gretchen Wilson - the woman who sings Redneck Woman..I know she is not an actress, but look at her and listen to her music.. Listen or read any interviews with her and then you might see what I mean. She has the attitude and the looks .

Other Things happened in Hazzard, likewise there were other people living in Hazzard. Think there ought to be a movie of what the other folks in Hazzard were doing etc. Also While everyone knows the General Lee, did you notice at the few first episodes, Cooter while working in the junk yard drove Starsky & Hutch' Red Torino, with the white strip down the side. Speaking of Cooter how come no one has put up a photo of his tow truck? Both the blue and white one as well as the yellow one?

While its a sure bet that sweet Daisy had the set of limbs all men would love to cuddle, still there were others on the TV show that as sweet a set of legs as Daisy. Huey Hogg' nurse on one episode had a great set, several on episodes did, how many pairs of nylon hose were worn to creat the illusion of perfect legs. Will the babe on the Big screen movie wear nylon hose to trick out her legs, face it niether Miss Spears or Simpson have perfect legs. Maybe there should be a casting call for the perfect legs, from Hazzard County?

Why not let the Dukes be the Dukes? In the Big Screen movie of the Dukes-of-Hazzard why not cast John and Tom as the Dukes and Daisy(Catherine Bach ) rather than all these pop stars? If the original cast were too old or ugly or both fine, but there will never be anyone that can be the Duke boys better than the original Duke boys. No other female on earth hazz Daisy' legs like Cathy Bach, so why not let her be Daisy? I know for the new punk kids that never connected with the Dukes-of-Hazzard, they need a popular face, but come on, its time to be original. The original cast, should be cast for the Big Screen Movie. By the way our group the Hazzard Kounty Knytes Kustmz Assoc…

Source: Broken Lizard Source: JoBlo.com Jay Chandrasekhar, writer/director of "Super Troopers" and part of the creative team responsible for "Club Dread" is reportedly directing the new Dukes movie. This information has not been cross-verified with any sources other than those named above. If true ( and believed so at the time of this writing) this represents an unexpected creative shift. Not necessarily a bad one, just...unexpected! What's also getting interesting, is the sudden pin-drop of casting news. The director will have some say in the casting, of course - so there's a new "all bets are off" atmosphere that suggests no assumptions should be made, about no…

In My oppinion some of the cast should be original cast members aswell as some new faces. For Instance, Tommy Lee Jones would make a bad version of Roscoe p. coltrane because he lacks the personality of the charicter but, maybe a new charicter can be created with him in the movie or he can play Uncle Jesse's charicter ? If that wont work then maybe someone like Kenny Rodgers can play Uncle Jesse's character or maybe George Carlin? Roscoe p. coltrane's character can be played by, Don Knotts or Burt Renolds. Brat Pitt would make a good Bo Duke character. Luke Duke can be played by, Ashton Kutchner. Daisy Duke's character would be better played by somebody like Jessica sim…

It would be crazy not to notice the resemblance that Tom Welling of Smallville bears to a young John Schneider. After seeing the first season on DVD it was uncanny...The kid just needs blonde hair. I took the liberty of doing a little photoshop to prove my point. Don't know how to post pics on this site but if someone will let me know I will post it...Casting people need to see this!!!!

This article was on the Internet Movie Database! Britney Spears's hopes of landing the role of Daisy Duke in the forthcoming movie version of The Dukes Of Hazzard have been dashed - after bosses handed it to Jessica Simpson. While star Spears had expressed an interest in playing the sexy character from the '70s/'80s TV show, singer Simpson has been chosen as the blonde who will fill the extra-short shorts of original Daisy Duke Catherine Bach. Simpson's manager father Joe tells America's Star magazine, "She is really excited." Simpson herself adds, "I wanna wear those shorts so bad!" The film, about three redneck cousins, two corrupt public officials and a souped- up Dod…

Here's a loose rumor I picked up in the alley, take it for what it's worth... The issue at stake for Jennifer Simpson and Britney Spears isn't just the role of Daisy Duke. Whoever is awarded the role, will allegedly have the chance to record a song for the movie soundtrack. This is an interestin' grain of gossip. Take, for comparison, the Starksy & Hutch movie. It didn't have anything overwhelming in the way of a soundtrack. There were the expected 70's tunes, a mix of classic rock and disco, but nothing that gave the movie added punch. ( David Soul's 70's hit, "Don't Give Up On Us Baby" , was more or less made fun of.) But it sounds like the Dukes movie soundt…

No joke, y'all. This is a valid rumor. It's still a rumor, of course, but here's the tidbit: Jessica Simpson will take Dolly's part in a duet of "Islands In The Stream" with Kenny Rogers on her April 11 variety show special on ABC, VH1 reported on Monday. Other guests on The Nick & Jessica Variety Hour include Jewel, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Mr. T. and some of The Muppets. Read a story here. (It was supposedly at the recent taping of the show that Simpson allegedly let slip the news that Dolly will reportedly play her mother when she takes the role of Daisy Duke in a film version of The Dukes Of Hazzard, although that rumor still has yet to be independently confi…

This is the most official-lookin' thing I can find on the subject. Source quoted at the bottom of article. Jessica Emerges As Favourite For Daisy Duke Role 2/27/2004 Britney Spears' hopes of playing Daisy Duke in the movie version of classic TV series Dukes of Hazzard have been seriously jeopardized - by fellow pop beauty Jessica Simpson. The sexy character, originally played by Catherine Bach, aroused the attention of hordes of fans with eye-catching hot pants and stomach-baring tied shirts. And now Simpson has emerged as the clear frontrunner in the race for the role, after meeting with bosses at film studio WAarner Brothers a few weeks ago. Producer Bill Gerber, who …

Heard a tidbit on the radio while the local DJ was going over the celebrity gossip. I apologize for not having the name of this singer accurate, I think it was....Jennifer somebody or another, who's got a current hit on the charts. (I confess I've got no earthly idea about who this chic is, this broadcast was halfway through by the time I got the radio volume up.) Anyhow, this singer had apparently shown interest in playing Daisy Duke in the upcoming Dukes movie. Reportedly, when Britany Spears heard this, she thew a fair-sized fit and was quoted as saying, "That role is MINE! I'M going to be Daisy Duke!" I've been digging around for casting info to try and confirm or…

So long as we're Christmas shoppin' for what we'd like in the new Dukes flick, lemme throw this one out there. Besides the '69 Charger starring as the General Lee, what other types of late-model cars or muscle cars would you want on the big screen? I remember that a Mustang was in the first reunion movie, and I enjoyed the fact that it was companionable to the General as far as age goes. (Anybody remember it, the "Double Zero?" I dont' recall the model year of the Mustang - it's a Ford, so you'll have to excuse me. But it sets a good example. It also got it's own die-cast release by ERTL. So WB could clean up on merchandising above and beyond the General Lee toys, …

I'm of the opinion the original cast can't ( and shouldn't ) be replaced. But there's something to be said for keeping the Dukes of Hazzard adventures going for generations to come, so long as '69 Charges don't become extinct in the process. That bein' said... The "next generation" concept, which would give the original cast well-deserved screen time, would be the best way to appeal to longtime fans while drawing new folks that never saw the show in their life. Here's a rough idea for a script along that line: Rosco, having enough wherewithal to retire, and having perhaps at last found a true love in which to spend his twilight years, heads off to travel around the co…
