Happy birthday Cooter!!!! (Aug 30) To honor the occasion, I finally picked up your new book today. I thought I would have to order it but Border's had two in stock. Meet all of us at the Boar's Nest to celebrate. (I still have a buttermilk moustache from celebrating Enos's birthday a couple days ago)

There are so many good ones! Anyone got a favorite? Two of mine are the one in my sig, and this one... "Some days, ya just can't jam it into second.... Even if ya double clutch it." What about y'all?

Cooter is my favorite, maybe it is because we both like cars or i just like his type. I think Cooter is HOT!! This is my first post and I'm a new user.

I am goin to tenneesse on April 22 for the weekend with my family. We have planed on goin to cooters that saturday. I was just wondering if any of you guys or gals have been there and what it was like! Thanks

It seems to me it was "Breaker Breaker, I might be crazy but I ain't dumb, Crazy Cooter comin at ya on the Hazzard Net..." but it seems to me that there was something in between "Breaker Breaker" and "I might be...". I'd swear that there was somethin more between there and I just can't think of it. Anyone?

anyone know how old Cooter was? i know i sound stupid asking, but i was wondering because i always thought that he was kind of the same ages with Bo Luke and daisy but then i read something about him havin a daughter so i was just wonering if y'all could help that'd be great

Ben's wife Alma has announced that Ben passed away of a heart attack today. There was no greater advocate for the show than Ben. He kept the spirit alive all these years with fan events and Cooter's Place. This is devastating. Feel free to share any experiences meeting Ben, kind words, favorite Cooter moments on the show, etc.

Hey ya'll I just read on Cooter's website that Ben had back surgery this summer but it recovering well. My prayers and thoughts with him hoping he has a full recovery. B.L. Davenport

Well I got home a couple of hours from being at Lightning Fest where Ben Jones and James Best was at. Had a great time! They both were very personable and great. Was surprised that Jones had a lot more people in his line than ol' Rosco had in his, but he did have a few in a line at most times. Got a hug from both James and Ben. Saw several General Lees and patrol cars. Plus, there was lot of matchbox type cars in the store plus sellers in another room. I finally got Uncle Jesse's truck, Daisy's roadrunner, and the 00 car! Now all I need is Cooter's tow truck and I'll be all set...and Enos' patrol car. LOL Anyway, didn't know where to put this so I thought here would do. I…

Throughout the Dukes series cooter was replaced every once in a while by one of his various cousins..... My question is why is the real reason Ben Jones was not in these episodes?

Did you ever notice that Cooter likes to charge $35.42 for almost all of the small things Example-To get Rosco's car door fixed in Deputy Dukes it cost $35.42 and in The meeting he charged Boss $35.42 to store and clean up th limo's

COOTER COOTER COOTER DAVVVENNNPOOORRTTT......... One of the best car fixer uper in Hazzard Bo and luke could always count on Cooter. Cooter Said the general lee is one of the best know cars ever it's like magic. On the Cmt insiders he said that. And Cooter was the only Mechines in hazzard. Cooter was the man that could hot wire a car with his eyes closed. Cooter is cool.

I was watching CNN tonight (8:00 EST) and they were mentioning actors who got into politics. I didn't hear what was being said....but written at the bottom of the screen was "Ben Jones as Cooter Davenport on the Dukes of Hazzard" I think they also mentioned the years he was involved in politics in Georgia.

Hi, all Ben Jones responded to a letter of mine today. Let me tell I have never heard a more gracius person in my life. I had told him about my problems with alcohol, (5 yrs sober!). He responded to my letter, with a note. I don't want to make any promises, but I hope to be at Dukesfest.

I just saw him day before yesterday while his band performed in Suffolk, Virginia. I can tell you that he is so friendly you just wouldn't beleive it. He stayed WAY after the show was over shaking hands, posing for pictures with people and just talking with them. I was there for two hours as people waited the whole time in a seemingly never-ending line just for an autograph. He went out of his way to make everyone feel comfortable, even way past dark and in 95 degree humidity, he kept on smiling. And the band was great. He said, "I'm not really a singer...I'm an actor. But they always let me sing because it's MY band!" One more thing...MANY of the fans coming up …

I went to the Autorama in Detroit MI. Sat. and I got to meet Ben Jones! The line was really long but i was lucky enough to be the 20th person in it, some of us had been there from 10:00am and he came out at 1:00pm Everyone that i met was really nice, Ben was really nice and so was his wife, he signed everything that i bought and chatted with me, he was super laid backhe was joking around with me and even sang the theme song. I even got my picture taken with him and the General Lee!! He didn't act like a big celeb, he acted just like a regular person. I hope everyone gets a chance to meet him he is a really great guy!!

Ya'll member when Ben Jones quit the show cause they tried to make him shave his beard? Well I knwo why they had L.B and B.B on there, I read the Ben Jones, on one of the episode guides wanted to show WB what he could do and when he got ahold of Mickey Jones and I cannot for the life of me think of L.B's real name, but anyways, Ben had sent them as a sign of his rebellion if I can find that site ill post it here.
