Hey y'all, sorry for trashing the new movie so dang badly,i know it's cruel of me and wasn't thinking of how I was either offending some and discouraging others! Just saw the movie (unrated version) a few days ago. I have never seen the dukes of hazzard before, so I thought i'd give it a chance. Anyway, it made me want to see what the real dukes was like, so I'm watching a marathon on CMT right now. I think I like the series better. The few eps I've seen have the characters portrayed a lot different than on the movie, i think. Anyway, the one thing about the movie i thought was cool was seeing my university on the big screen (LSU). So uh..about 15 minutes ago my wife and I are watching tv and in a span of about 60 seconds we came across the the trailer for the new movie on 3 different channels. About midway through the second running of the trailer she blurts out "Boobs and undercarriage boobs and undercarriage, thats all I see!" I couldnt help but laugh at my wife's outburst.. "Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning" hit the top 20 in DVD sales during it's first week of release, scoring 16th. Other first-week releases include "Casino Royale" which rolled in to #1. I recorded the movie on USA because I was couriouse about what it was like. I'm only 36 minutes into the movie now and I hate it. It's way off from the show and it's just stupid. I will never watch it again but I will finish it. At least I know what it's like now.

I love the dedication this group of Hazzard townies and can't tell you how much I love knowing that there are people that have such fond memories of this show as I did. I was born in Columbus, Ga, not too far form where it all started, and I remember in REAL LIFE seeing the General Lee in my town on tour while the show was still filming. 8) After months of waiting for the big screen release of the remake Dukes of Hazzard I went in with mixed feelings of both excitment and trepidation. What will Jay (the director and his cast) do with our beloved series? I went in expecting something goofy and lowbrow and thats what I got. Are standing at over 5 million copies sold, per VideoBusiness.com. Five freakin' million copies. This, on top of global box office revenues of over 80 million bucks when the movie was in theatres. That's not counting the sales of the original series on DVD, nor the current sales of "The Beginning" straight-to-DVD movie. "Dukes of Hazzard" is an ATM machine for Warner Bros. I expect we'll see more Dukes incarnations beyond "The Beginning." I am a extra in the Dukes of Hazzards movie and I would like to say that they shot in Zachary,LA behind the new Chillis Monday and Tuesday. Thursday and today they have been shooting at the corner of Scenic Hwy and Choctaw. Saturday Jessica Simpson for sure will be at the Clinton parade and they will shoot a couple of extra needed scenes to link in the Cooters Garage scenes.
