8) After months of waiting for the big screen release of the remake Dukes of Hazzard I went in with mixed feelings of both excitment and trepidation. What will Jay (the director and his cast) do with our beloved series?

I went in expecting something goofy and lowbrow and thats what I got. Dukes never took itself to seriously and neither does this film. Johnnie ,Sean and Jessica all were entertaining, But John would never drag Luke down the road on a safe chained to Cooters tow truck but it was still funny, nor would Jessie smoke weed, swear, or punch Boss Hogg. They arnt 'Bo and Luke' It feels more like Coy and Vance did .You don't hate them, but its just not the same... The same things that have the original cast up in arms... I enjoyed the antics and the movie as an American Pie, Super Troopers, Jackass funny MOVIE that had the rest of the theatre laughing too, But I think I can say this and have most of DUKE fans agree, it just wasnt what I want the Duke boys to be. John and Tom. Come Take back the General Lee fellas...

The movie will probably do well and spawn a sequel and I'll go see it because I did enjoy the movie, and ultimately I hope it spawns enough interest in Dukes to reluanch a series but one that is truer to the original. This Movie is missing the FAMILY and ultimately the DUKES CORE that made it so beloved.
