Hi Gang, I'm afraid I can keep silent no longer about the brand new and improved forums. I liked the old set up better because I didn't go blind every time I logged onto it. The orange is too orange, I love Halloween, but not every single day. Another thing I must comment on is the fact that the Google ads all over Hazzardnet have now quadrupled. I come to Hnet to read the posts, not the Yellowpages. I am pretty disappointed with how overly busy this place looks now, do we really need the top posts on the side? Do we really need to have 10 million ads everywhere? Between the hosing down of Hazzardnet with orange, and the tiny font that looks like ants with white painted f…

My thoughts and prayers are going out to all those who participated in the today's marathon in Boston where several bombs went off in different locations. So far a couple are dead and over twenty others hurt. Just incredibly sad and scary for everyone involved, watching, the police/paramedics/fire fighters, and their families. I can't even begin to imagine what they are now going through. A lot of people who are in marathons are in there not only to work out or to lose weight but also to raise money for charity or to bring awareness to cancers and other sorts. They give their time, effort, and talent to these charities and this is how they are repaid? Just incredibly sad…

We are in danger of losing a piece of Americana. The original Duke farm is in jeopardy. Most of you know that the greatest show in the history of our planet originally began in northern Georgia with the first 5 episodes. The farm is now owned by the grandfather of a HazzardNet member, Nash. I don't know if there's anything we can do to save the farm from falling in but we can't just sit around and do nothing. Uncle Jesse would be so ashamed of us if we didn't put up a good old-fashioned fight. I'd like to see this thread become the most active one on the HazzardNet because this is a campaign we MUST win. There is a spam email going around to fans of John Schneider that all should be aware of. The sender of the message will be identified as "Bo Duke" so it should certainly raise flags for fans immediately anyway. Anyone with half a brain should be able to figure out that is isn't really "Bo Duke" sending the emails but still, I figured that I'd pass on the warning. Got to go to Cooters in Gatlinburg this trip! Got to meet Rick Hurst for the first time. He is such a nice guy, he gave to 2 autographs for the price of one. Also got lots of Dukes stuff. Had so much fun!! Might post pics later. (And I finally got my Buck knife 110 like Bo and Luke's)

Ray puts on these shows for love of the Dukes with money out of his own pocket, with no profit for himself. Unfortunately, his pockets are empty. The other day i was looking through a magazine that was on the table and i saw this in it. An article about James Best (Sheriff Rosco), So i thought i would share it with everyone on hazzard net!

Hey y'all After putting it off all summer, I've finally done it! I passed my driver theory test which allows me to drive any car so long as I have a full licensed driver with me, and have "L" plates displayed on the car I'm driving. After I've done 12 lessons with a certified instructor, and after I've had my first licence I'm able to apply for my full licence. That means I can drive alone and without "L" plates on the car I'm driving. I drove home from the motor tax center earlier (where I filled out the form to get my licence) and couldn't help smiling uncontrollably. I'm driving my parents cars at the moment, but I'm slowly saving up for a small Suzuki Jimny, or Samur…

I gots myself a horse! Well sorta....I'm kinda sorta leasing him! He is a 5 year old Thoroughbred gelding. He's an ex-racehorse............in 6 races he never finished better than 8th but i love him anyway. His full name is Irish Eagle....I call him Eagle...but I might start calling hium Red...it fits him. I think he might be kin to Maudine.....he's a bit of a brat. He blows his self up when you tighten the girth, he has tried to lay down when i tighten the girth, once while I was riding him, and he likes to take me under tree branches. I've been a little stressed out lately with all I've been taking on so I'm going to try a little experiment. I'm going to go a whole week without using my computer. Please don't worry about me. I'll be fine. I've become a bit of a slave to this contraption and it's starting to get to me. The only thing I'm going to do is check my e-mail once a day. That's it! I wish I didn't have to do that but I'm working on getting a book published so I have to. The book is one of the things that's been stressing me out but, mostly, I just need a break. I'm just sitting here trying to write but I don't trust myself to post any of it right now since I'm hyped up on vicadin; not that it has helped the pain at all. I stepped off of my back patio yesterday just before supper and my ankle turned. I HOPED that it was only a bad sprain since I don't have insurance. About thirty seconds after I went down my husband went into one of his walking around seizures so I had to try to keep him from wandering too far while I myself couldn't get up on my feet. Reading through various fanfic sites it seems clear that many stories like to depend on the same old cliches which (to me) make them extremely boring. Many times while reading I'd love to just shout, "Show some originality people!" LOL! Anyway, I figured that maybe a thread devoted to listing some of these general cliches that over-run our fandom and perhaps discuss the reasons why those cliches are over-used. I'll start it off: Luke always seems to be getting a head injury of some kind. Someone gets sick and the whole family is worried for the family member from the very first chapter. I know that if this happened to my grandparents, I wouldn't rest until I personally caught up with their attacker and...well let's just say that they wouldn't be mugging people again for a while.

BL Davenport brought up an interesting subject in the trivia thread. Hazzard High School must have a mascot name but it never came up in the series. If you were able to name Hazzard's team what would it be? Hazzard Hornets? Hazzard Rebels? Hazzard Patriots? Hazzard Hillbillies? Hazzard Wildcats? Hazzard Hawks? Let's hear other suggestions.

It looks like our 10 year old Dell has breathed its last. While viewing a newspaper website it started acting up and apparently it is now toast. After describing it to people I've been told that I have witnessed the dreaded "blue screen of death" and it's time to go computer shopping. I still have to consult my son-in-law who is a computer engineer but there's a chance I'll be out of the HazzardNet loop for a few days (or longer). I'm typing this on a computer somewhere else but don't have a lot of access to other computers so I'll be back after I'm back online at home.
