General Discussion

Talk about anything here! Well, ALMOST anything. This IS a family site, ya know... =)

  1. Hey y'all, Bit of a weird question but does anyone know anywhere that I can purchase a Dukes lunch box other than the obvious places like eBay and Etsy etc., I need it for a short film I'm making set in the mid-80's, plan to throw in a few Dukes references , any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Joe

Hi all, You've probably already noticed but in "High Octane" (the episode I'm watching as I'm writing this) at about 2:27 into the episode when the boys are pulling up to the courthouse the General's grille is damaged, probably because it is the same car used for the famous semi-truck jump at the start of the episode, the noticeable damage is the right headlight hood, which has been forced open, other damage includes the silver "splitter" in the middle of the grille, which has been pushed inwards, that's all I can see in the original footage, it would probably need to be remastered to see more of the damage, anyway that's all from me, 10:4 Joe

Hey y'all, Someone in my neighbourhood has converted their BMW M3 (mid-90s early 2000s I believe) to a General Lee homage, whoever has done it clearly hasn't watched the show that often because they've put a ton of fake rust on it, which the General never had, real or otherwise, anyway I thought everyone might want to know, 10:4 Joe

  4. Hey y'all If the Dukes was made today how'd you think Rosco would fare with a License Plate Recognition System?, I believe he would be baffled by it, what do you think? 10:4 Joe

  5. For example, the format could be GA-HZD-[MM/DD/YY] GA would be the state, HZD would be the county, [MM/DD/YY] would be the date(appearing like a production number).

I'm sitting here watching the Evel Knieval show on the History Channel. They have been advertising an upcoming show hosted by David Hasselhoff called "Battle of the 80s Supercars" it features Kitt, the A-Team van and a CHIP's motorcycle. They should be ashamed of themselves. Leaving out the most famous car in the world is flat out idiotic.

I'm usually pretty open about my health. You guys know I've been sick for a while now (about 2 1/2 years). My doctors and I assumed it was my autoimmune disease because the symptoms were indicative of that. So, we've been treating it that way. I wasn't getting any better though. So, last December, I insisted that my GI doc do an endoscopy to check on some issues. Well, on March 13th, she informed me that one of the samples she had taken for biopsy turned out to be neuroendocrine cancer (the bad news). Turns out neuroendocrine cancer, which is rare, also has a lot of the same symptoms of my autoimmune disease. I saw an oncologist and he ordered a PET scan, which I fou…

  9. I found this recently- its only been around since June of this year. Very fun to listen to- a nice mix of car talk and a review of an episode. There is a new one about every 2 weeks. http://podbay.fm/show/1120485668 600x600bb by mommydawn2000, on Flickr

I think we can all agree, that most of the actors, on the show, were mostly " Looks", with little acting ability. I think we can also agree, that the 3 MAIN characters aka, REAL actors, were Sorrell Booke, Denver Pyle, and Jimmy Best. Among these 3, I say it came down to Sorrell Booke or Jimmy Best....not sure between those two.....what do you guys think?

We all know that Daisy Duke is famous for those short jean shorts. I would like to know your favorite women, or just one woman, in Daisy Dukes. My favorite, at least as far as pictures are concerned, is a picture of Iris Kyle, a female bodybuilder. Although the picture is manipulated (No young men actually seeing Ms. Kyle work out) I still love it.

I just don't understand CMT. They are now rerunning old episodes of Roseanne. Why would you do that but drop Dukes of Hazzard? Where is the consistency in their policies? I realize that it's their station and they can do whatever they want but geeez! Bring back the Dukes.

Anyone know where one could acquire a reasonable copy of Rosco's hat? Ain't as simple as just getting a cowboy hat....got one of those already, and as I live in the Southwest in the middle of cowboy country, there are a plethora of styles to choose from. I just have no idea what to ask for or where to look....

  15. Looking for suggestions for police belt/holster setups to match the Hazzard law. My head is swimming after over an hour on eBay looking at vintage stuff, I just don't know. And tough to tell from the DOH show photos I tried looking at....

  16. Can't believe I don't know. Did Rosco and the rest of the Hazzard law wear boots, or black police shoes?

  17. Started by RogerDuke,

So I bumped into "Hazard Net worth" on Google and come to find out the HazzardNet is worth $100 million dollars. Then I realized I made a mistake and football (soccer) player Eden Hazard is worth $100 million dollars. Shucks, I was planning on hitting up Meadowmufn for some money so I could put together a race car and win the Hazzard 500.

Took the family to georgia to see the filming locations and it was the 2nd time I've been there. I noticed on the courthouse sidewalk they had pavers that said in the heat of the night, footloose, and vampire diaries but wasn't one for the dukes of hazzard. Just disappoints me that they dont recognize how special and popular the show was

Hello people, I was wondering if you ever saw a General Lee in person? I define a General Lee as being a 1969 Dodge Charger with paint job. Me, myself and I have never seen a drivable 1969 Dodge Charger. Let alone a General Lee. Though I was lucky enough to see a 1969 Dodge Charger in Haynes International Motor Museum during my vacation to the UK 3 years ago. When I saw the charger there I felt like the luckiest man alive.

Some folks say you shouldn't live in the past but I'm starting to think it's a lot better than living in the present. I've had it with the present. I've seen politically correct insanity taking over everything. The latest is the Boy Scouts dropping half their name and just calling themselves Scouts to please the politically correct police. It truly has risen (or lowered) to the level of insanity. I just found an 80s country music station and it's now all I listen to in my vehicle. I'm now watching more Dukes, Andy Griffith, Gomer Pyle, Beverley Hillbillies etc than ever before. I'm way happier because of it. So to the folks who say you shouldn't live in the past, I say...…

I know an elderly lady who just started using Facebook and wasn't very good at it. When she announced the death of someone she posted LOL at the end. Needless to say she got a lot of concerned responses. She then explained that she thought it meant Lots Of Love. Who remembers that hilarious commercial from a couple years ago with the old ladies "That's not how it works. That's not how any of this works!" when one unfriended the other? The funny thing is that when I saw it I didn't know what "posting something to the wall" meant. When it was explained to me it was even funnier. '

  24. Started by RogerDuke,

We've been recording Beverly Hillbillies lately and got lucky yesterday when they aired the very first episode. The writing was fantastic. It seems like the older the episode was the funnier it was and the first is hilarious. They start out with them driving into Beverly Hills for the first time and then they back up (the truck then literally backs up) to show the viewer how they ended up leaving their shack.

  25. Started by Hobie Hartkins,

Hey guys, I can't believe I just noticed this one and I can't believe they didn't re-write the script, unless they did it as a joke ( I feel there's a lot of stuff I see on the show, that HAD to be a joke among cast and crew.) I was watching this last night. Remember when Loretta Lynn was kidnapped and they were taking her to that barn in an RV? She threw pics of herself out the back window, so someone would find them and follow them to her. However, the blue car that the crooks were driving pulled into the barn immediately after the RV did. WHY DIDN'T THE CROOKS IN THE CAR NOTICE SHE WAS THROWING OUT PICS OF HERSELF???
