What is "support your local sheriff"
It's intended to keep spambots and automated software from signing up and spamming the boards. So far, it seems to be working pretty well. *fingers crossed*

HazzardNet Hollar - Spam Fighters
Just a quick update, we had some very malicious spammers attack the site this morning and posted very inappropriate stuff. I think we got all of it. Please let us know if you find any more. For the time being, I have restricted new registrations to the site until I can upgrade the software with the latest security patches. Please let me know if you have any problems with the site. You shouldn't, as the new restrictions should only affect recently registered members, but ya never know. Oh, and for those that don't know, you can report a bad post by clicking on the red triangle icon on the upper right side of the post. That will email us with all the info we need to take care of it. Thanks all!

HazzardNet Hollar - Spam Fighters
I would also like to add to that the following fine citizens of Hazzard. I'm sure I'll probably forget some of the names of folks who've helped by reporting spammers, but y'all know who you are and I'd like to extend a hearty thank you for helping us keep this place as spam free as possible. DaisyMaeDuke BoJamesDuke The_Dukes_Generl_Lee01 JESSI DUKE General Grant and I think RogerDuke reported one too. Thanks, y'all!

Well, if that character won't cooperate, try another. Since I'm done with my story, I have a character you can borrow. Khee!

tom caught with weed?
While I have no love for the press, they did not put the weed in his possession. They just reported what they found out. It was his personal choice and he got caught. Why he chose that, I don't know and personally I don't care. That's his business. I don't judge him. He's human and he makes mistakes. Celebrities are unfortunate in that they live most of their lives in public view. Many people think they are exactly like the characters they portray, but I can tell you that they certainly are not.

Site Issue
I just checked on my computer and I'm not getting that on Firefox or IE. I'm wondering if it's something in your browser setup. Perhaps the little "Number of users chatting" java thing is causing IE to think there's an ActiveX program running? That's only a guess.

Jerry Reed Died 9-1-2008
I'm a li'l late to this thread, but I just wanted to add a R.I.P. for Jerry here. For years, I had a line from Amos Moses in my sig and have added it back in memory of Jerry. My husband and I are fans of the Smokey and the Bandit movies and we have several CDs of his music. He will be missed. I won't be mourning his loss, but rather celebrating his life... Well, I got a big jug o' cider and a bottle of wine One's for my honey and the other is mine Sip on the cider, sip on the wine Both sip together and a have a good time One foot, two foot, slew foot drag Swing your honey to the Sugar Foot Rag Do a little jig and a zig and a zag And listen to the steel guitar As he plays that Sugar Foot Rag I'm gonna spend all my money And a git on a jag Swing my honey to the Sugar Foot Rag Walk right up, stomp on the floor Swing up the middle with a shoofly four One foot, two foot, slew foot drag Swing your honey to the Sugarfoot Rag Do a little jig and a zig and a zag And listen to Jerry... He's gonna play that Sugar Foot Rag

As far as I know, Michael Streit is no longer part of the Official DOH Fan club. We have received many emails over the years from fans upset that they were ripped off by him, so we have removed your link to his ebay auctions.

What would you like to see at HazzardNet?
Ok. I'll try to add back the number of users chatting thing. I have no idea what happened to it. It seems to have disappeared after the upgrade. I'm also working on getting custom sounds into the chat room, but it's going to take some doing, as the size of the files they allow have to be really small! I'll post back here when those are done. If it takes me a while, just bark at me.

Misheard Lyrics
I love collecting misheard lyrics. I thought I'd start this thread for all you music fans to post your favorite misheard lyrics. Elton John is one of my favorite sources of misheard lyrics. One of the funniest has got to be the song "Bennie and the Jets". The original lyric is "She's got electric boots, a mohair suit", but it sounds like "She's got electric boobs, her mom has too". LOL. And that's how I always sing it!

What would you like to see at HazzardNet?
I've decided I'd put together an all-purpose suggestion thread here so on the rare occasion that any of us actually do any work around here, we'll have an idea of what you'd like for us to improve. So, what would y'all like to see here at HazzardNet? We do have some guidelines... 1) It has to be feasible both financially and in terms of our collective skills. 2) It has to be something that can be accomplished in a month or two. We have short attention spans. 3) I'm sure there's something else I wanted to put here, but... well, refer to #2 about the attention span. So, ask away!
