John is going to be turning 52 on Easter Day. I guess this means we won't be going to the Boar's Nest to celebrate this year since it will be closed. Happy birthday Bo!

Ouch. I feel your pain. The Pirates lost 1-0. It feels good to have the season start. Since both our teams are ranked about the same this should be a good rivalry. Hopefully we'll have other folks jump in here and support their teams.

From what I understand their calander was based on astronomical events that are just going to repeat themselves. Here's an analogy I use: Imagine I show an alien how our calander works. I then leave the room and the alien starts flipping through it and comes to the conclusion that human beings are going to be destroyed on December 31 since that's the last day listed. It's understandable why the alien would think that since I forgot to tell him that Jan 1 comes after Dec 31.

This is all my fault. I'm really sorry. I started the monthly chats and didn't finish what I started. Since I shamefully can't be depended on to keep up on them I am officially bowing out. If someone else wants to remember to post it every month I'd be happy with that. Sorry. I've been having so much trouble keeping up with everything lately this isn't the first thing I've forgotten. I've just got to start saying no to all these other projects I'm doing or want to start. They're starting to weigh me down.

Very good B.L. Right as usual. They never showed Beulah Mae on the show. I bet she would have been fighting Emma for Jesse if she would have showed up in Hazzard though. That would have been a fun episode. They could have had a dirt bike jump-off to see who got to go with Jesse to the drive-in theater in Capitol City.

Just my bad luck! The Pirates play thier first series against the team that won the most games in the majors last year, the Phillies. I was hoping we'd have an easy target (like the Cubs). I was hoping we'd get some confidence built up with a couple early wins but this is going to be tough. Talk about being thrown into the fire! Miami's new stadium looked great! I'm glad St. Louis beat them though.

You convinced me...I won't give up on David Ragen. So I guess we have two heated contests going on, which one of our baseball teams gets the most wins and which driver gets the most wins (not top 10 finishes, you're gauranteed of beating me in those)

There's only one way to settle this... PLAY BALL!!! Oh shucks, we have to wait a few more days. Seriousely though, this is a big year for the Pirates. They've had 19 years in a row where they've lost more than they've won. No other team in USA big league sports has been that bad. I just hope they can snap that streak...'cause 20 is, like a trillion times bigger than 19....according my my calculator. If the Pirates don't win it I'll root for the Cubs considering how long it's been since they've won it all but let's face it, the Pirates have a better chance of having a winning season than the Cubs do of winning the World Series.... in the meantime, I have to get back to the business of pretending I hate the Cubs.....just because our rivalry is so fun.

You've been impressing me with your vast knowledge of NASCAR for so long I just had to find something that I can keep up with you on. Besides, This Cubs-Pirates rivalry we got going on has a lot more potential to be more exciting than a Jeff Gordon-David Ragen rivalry since it looks like it could be a bad year for my #6.

I don't have to take this abuse. I'm reporting you to the moderators. They care about the reputation of this website and they'll be furious when they hear that you're spreading lies on it. The Cubs are not better. Let me repeat myself, the Pirates won more games than the Cubs last year by a WIDE margain, 72-71. If you can't accept that Pittsburgh is by far the superior team just go back and do the math. Use a calculator if you have to. 72 is like....a trillion times bigger number than 71.

Last year my Pirates won 72 games and Garrett's Cubs won 71 so if anyone wants to witness a big time brawl between two members of the HazzardNet, this thread is the place to be. In the meantime if someone else wants to throw their baseball hat in the ring, now's the time to pledge your allegiance to your favorite team. I don't know why you're bothering though since the Pirates are going to win it all. If you don't believe that Garrett, then you don't know anything about baseball and you really shouldn't be here. Go back to your NASCAR thread.

I haven't been following NASCAR this year because I'm just too busy on the weekends. Besides, it looks like the #6 car isn't exactly going to have a stellar year. Oh well, if he wins even one race I'll be happy. Speaking of winning a race, I'm going to make the bold prediction that Junior's going to win two this year. Hey Garrett, I'm going to start a baseball thread on the hobbies forum. Correction: I went down and started up the old one.

My wife is a huge General Hospital fan. Today they were showing scenes from an upcoming episode and I saw a lady who looked familiar and my wife said "Oh, they're bringing her back!?" She told me that I knew she used to be on General Hospital because we talked about it before. My memory's not so good so I had to ask more details. She said that she used to be on the Dukes. *LIGHT BULB OVER MY HEAD* The lady in question is Diane Benson from Carnival of Thrills.
