Boss always wanted to be Governor of Georgia but lately a different Governor has been getting a little publicity for Boss. Before leaving office Governor Haley Barbour of Mississippi pardoned a few people from jail and that's been stirring up a lot of controversy on a national level. Since the moderators here are smart enough to not let us talk about politics, I'll be careful how I word this and not discuss the pardons themselves. Yesterday morning, a panel of folks were talking on CNN about Haley Barbour and several references were made comparing him to Boss Hogg. Tonight on CNN the attorney general of Mississippi was also making references to Boss Hogg. I sure got a chuckle out of it. By the way, CNN is based it Atlanta. That's just a coincidence of course but it does make the story even funnier.

She was named Martha or Lavinia depending on which episode she was mentioned. I like to think that Martha was her middle name and he occasionally called her by her middle name but it's subject to each individual's interpretation.

Great question! I'm not sure which episode it was. Maybe High Octane. I was 19 and in the USMC stationed in Camp LeJeune North Carolina in 1979 when I went into a rec room to watch TV. The Dukes of Hazzard had just came out and everybody was talking about it. It just happened to be on when I walked in the room so I watched it out of curiosity and fell in love at first sight. It's been my favorite show ever since. I always thought that John Schneider was a lot older than me because I looked like I was 15 when I was 19 but I found out later that he was only born 7 days before me.

That's okay MM. I was pretty involved in watching the jumps so I didn't get bored. Plus I was too tired to stay up and celebrate in anybody else's time zone than my own.

I just got done watching the New Year's jump in San Diego with the motorcycle and snowmobile side by side on ESPN. It's amazing what those guys can do. The snowmobile went 412 feet and the motorcycle went 380. To put that in perspective, Evil Knieval's longest jump was 133 feet. Thankfully they both had safe landings. Seeing someone get hurt wouldn't have been a good way to start out the new year. Before that I logged into the chat room at 11:38 and texasdaisy09 was logging out at that exact moment so I missed her....so, if you're reading this texasdaisy09 we'd love to see you more often here on the HazzardNet and I'm sorry I missed you. Now I'm mad at myself for being 8 minutes late. Happy New Year everybody!

I'm going to be in the Chat Room (Flash Chat-Boar's Nest) starting at 11:30 pm EST if anybody wants to join me on New Year's Eve. My wife has to get up at 5 and I'll be awake alone so if anybody isn't partying with family and friends come join lonely Roger Duke. If I'm feeling up to it I might stay around to party with others who are celebrating in a later time zone if they're around.
