DukesFest & Other Events

I am planning on going to it and would like to know the date and location it will be next year.

I am a die hard fan of the dukes of hazzard as much as anyone, but I envy the states, because I can never make it that far to go to at least one Duke fest once in my life. I never hear of one in the maritimes , or in Canada for that fact. I would so love if they could have at least one show in New Brunswick you know!!! I would die if I could go to at least one Duke fest, just one, before all the original actors pass on...... There is plenty of places just in Moncton alone, not to mention the old race track in Miramichi New Brunswick, hell if anywheres in New Brunswick would be great!!!! Ben's already announced he's gonna do it again. Yes, Virginia, there IS a 2012 Hazzard Homecoming, August 11 & 12. Same location as last year in Sperryville VA. This will be the biggest annual Dukes of Hazzard fan gathering of the year. (formerly known as "DukesFest".) This is the fastest we've seen him announce the next year's event, so he must have somethin' cookin'! No other details are yet public. As soon as they are, we'll post more. Credit to Phyllis for this unfortunate news. Always remember the story your grandson told after his Dukesfest stunt. He could've talked about himself, instead shared a memory about you. Thank you Mr. Baxley and your loyal crew for all you helped make the Dukes Of Hazzard become when critics said it wouldn't last the first commercial break. Biggest state out of 50. You know there are plenty of Dukes fans. I wish somebody would organize, or the official Dukesfest People would bring that thing to Texas at some point in the future. Or has it already been and I just missed it?

Great News! The Ray Kohn Dukes of Hazzard Stunt Show has just scheduled an event for September 4th. It is to takes place at a HUGE car show north of Youngstown Ohio at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds. Check out www.oxroastcarshow.com to get information about the ox roast and car show. I was wondering has anyone gotten there dukesfest dvd's yet. I know they where suppose to be shipped last week or this week. So does anyone know if they have been shipped yet?

I am a subscriber to Country Weekly (A Country music magazine - this one has Kenny Chesney on the cover) and had gotten my latest magazine in the mail yesterday afternoon. I was surprised while looking through it to find an article in it about Dukefest. It was a small article mainly stating the event, when, where, and how to get tickets. What had gotten my attention was the small picture of Ben in The General. As I said, it was small and had probably had only taken an inch or so of the page, but was excited to see the announcement in the magazine. It was good to see a picture of Ben in it as well.

Competition is one thing that has made this country great. In fact, it makes us all better when we have a little friendly competition in our lives. Some folks take their competition seriousely and some folks just like to compete for fun. There was a Waylon quote on the episode "Mrs. Daisy Hogg" that went like this: "If any of y'all ever drive through Hazzard, well ya might remember that if it's got wheels, folks tend to want to race it." That's Hazzard folks for you...competitive to their core. You don't need any more proof than to just look at how Bo and Luke interacted with each other. I bet that before Luke went in the Marines, little Bo couldn't beat him at anything…

Sorry I have not posted much since I joined a couple years ago. I was still duke crazy....i did go to dukesfest and I had a BLAST!!! DID I SAY I HAD A BLAST??? I met John for the first time..and he is just super!!! Most of the rest of the cast, I have met before..Jimmy came to Michigan and I loved meeting him!! Have fun ya'all katz

As many of ya know, Tom couldn't make the 2007 DukesFest due to touring with the off-broadway musical production of "Chicago." DukesFest carried on, but of course "Luke Duke" was missed. HazzardNet has early, unofficial information that indicates Tom will be at the 2008 DukesFest. You won't find this news on any other Dukes website yet, but the information we obtained is from a viable enough source that we're sticking our necks out and reporting it. Note, Tom usually has an escape clause that lets him bail if a hot Broadway gig comes up, so this is never written in stone. So far, though, it looks good.
