(I wanted to share this with ya'll. I did not write it, noted the author respectfully below. ~Chet Duke) By: EILEEN MOROCK 'Taken from the "Moonlighter" Feb. 2008 edition.' "When Dreams Die" Some of us, the dreamers... Were born to dance upon the wind.... Dreams are a funny things, full of power and magic. They can propel you to towering heights, and drive you to persist thru adversity and exhaustion. They can motivate you to blast thru obstacles, catapult hurdles and ignore impossiblities. A razor beam focus on a dream is a numbing drug, allowing you to bear the worst circumstances. Ordinary people do extraordinary things when carried on the wings of …

Ahoy, mateys! Tis International Talk Like a Pirate day. Yaarrrrr. Hoist yer grog an' have a swashbucklin' good time. To start off the day's festivities, I've dusted off this here joke I pulled outta me treasure chest. Yaaarrrr! A pirate walks into a bar. As he comes up for a drink, the bartender notices a tiny steering wheel poking out of the front of the pirate's pants. "Excuse me, sir," the bartender says, "You have tiny steering wheel coming out of your pants." The pirate looks down, and says, "Arrrrr, I know. It's driving me nuts."

In case anybody is depending on closed-captioning to give you information on Dukes trivia, be careful of how much you can trust the spelling. For example, on "Enos in Trouble" (DVD) they spell Meadowmuffin, metal muffin (our Supreme Superior Commander is going to be furious) and in the same episode when Enos mentions his Uncle Odie they spell it Uncle Putney. How they got that far away from the actual word, I'll never know. Incidently, here's a little bit of Hazzard trivia that Sonny Shroyer told me personally.....Odie is his real-life father's name. He revealed that to me when I told him that I had a great-Uncle Odie and thought it was neat that Enos had one. Possum on a…

Hi everyone, I just wanted to drop in and tell all of you that I haven't fallen off the map or anything, I have been having health issues during the past few months and things are finally starting to look a bit better. I haven't forgotten that I was going to do some brainstorming with Val Strate, or that I got board chilling out and shooting the breeze with Roger Duke. I have just been kind of under the weather lately. So, now that things are starting to look a bit better...Thankfully! I will be leaving town to go on vacation. This year, we're heading to the 3 country corner where Germany, Austria, and Switzerland meet. I am looking forward to that, but my real excit…

Folks, I post this here in remembrance of the college students at VA Tech. Being in college myself, (if you haven't figured it out from my little posts in the swamp about getting out of Chemistry class and about DOH frat) it strikes a cord with me. No one expects to go to class then wind up losing a friend or losing their own life because of someone else's recklessness. It also sickens me to know that there are people that distraught with their lives about a 'break up' that they resort to this kind of behavior. It's uncalled for. If you are having problems with your life, talk to a friend, a family member, heck most colleges have counselors on campus to help you deal with…

Today I was reading an article on corn prices in my local newspaper. According to the article it states that the demand for Ethanol would make corn prices raise. This is due to the fact that the current ethanol program has had a 3 million acreage decrease! The government doesn't plan to extend new contracts out to make up for that missing acreage. They are using the money they have to take care of the existing contracts that they have. This move concerns many of the wildlife organizations, livestock associations and several other organizations and businesses that have high demands for corn and are tied to agriculture. Wildlife organizations feel that using the dropped ac…

my cat buddy has passed away, mom put him down this afternoon. He died of cancer. Buddy was more than a pet, he was my companion, my brother, my friend but most of all somebody I loved. This morning when I woke up he crawled up onto my chest and started to pur. The vet said he was in alot pain and there was alot of tumor in his stomache. I'm in shock right now and I feel numb, sick to my stomach but most of all sad. On the good side I know he'll be watching over me in heaven and looking out for me. I hate myself for not seeing his pain and not being able to do a thing about it until it was too late. God, please keep Buddy happy until my time comes, please let him know tha…

What if Dukes of Hazzard Fans had there own little Fraternity or Sorority... The name of this group would be Delta Omicron Eta... Those are the Greek letters for DOH. What it would look like is a triangle followed by a capital O then capital H. It's obvious our little Frat or Sorority's color would be orange. Our flag... what else but the rebel flag. Our theme song? 'Just a good ol' boys' by Walyon Jennings. Our motto? (This one we are working on... Any ideas?) Our mascot? The General Lee Sayings for Delta Omicron Eta; 1) Yeeehaawww! 2) Khee! Khee! 3) Oh no it's Rosco! 4) Possumonagumbush! 5) Shoot fire and save a box of matches! (Feel free anyone to add more...) You kn…
