The Patrol Cars

Hi, I am looking for a car make of the same type used in Dukes of Hazzard so I can convert it to a Hazzard county patrol car. If anyone is looking to sell or knows some who is selling one please let me know.

I have this 1977 Monaco i have had for about 5 years now and it is time for it to go to a good home and get made in to a Rosco clone car. It is the perfect car the body is solid because cars don't rot here in Texas. the interior is pretty rough but all floor pans are solid. Oh, it is mechanically sound the A/C does works great but needs a charge every couple years so it has a small leak. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere it runs and drives that good. Just send me a message i have tons of pictures and video of the car.

Brian's recent update of the FAQ section has spurred me on to make a visual record of all the patrol cars that appeared in Dukes. You'll find much of this information in other threads on HNet, but I wanted to collect it together with pictures (they say a picture is worth a thousand words!). Although most of the non-Hazzard cars were Dodge Coronets/Monacos or Plymouth Furys, I intend to include them to show their different liveries. Recently Greenlight released a 1:18 scale diecast model of Rosco’s 1977 Plymouth Fury. I finally got it today—and it’s now displayed with action figures of Rosco, Boss Hogg, and Cletus/Enos...next to diecast models of the General Lee (with action figures Bo & Luke sitting out of the windows), and Daisy’s Plymouth Satellite (with Daisy’s action figure on the hood). Maybe this has been brought up already in the past, but there’s so much awesome info about the “Dukes” on this site, it’s sometimes hard to find something if it’s already been mentioned in years past. Anyway, starting in I think 3rd season or so, Rosco, Enos, & Cletus primarily used 1977 Dodge Monacos & 1977 Plymouth Furys...the Furys primarily taking over by Season 4. But, I’ve noticed a lot of times the steering wheels and/or interiors don’t seem to match a 77 Fury, when shown. They are many times more from a 75-76 Fury. I'm looking for info/pics, etc on 1977 Dodge Monacos used in the show as something other than a police car. I recall seeing them now and then, but can't recall which episodes. Any help is appreciated! Mark

Hey guys, About 10 years ago, I bought a set of fullsize gold-mirror hazzard sheriff decals for building a Rosco's patrol car replica. Not the single vinyl 'plain' gold & black. These had a separate mirror-gold backing and separate black graphics decals. I don't remember who made these, and I don't have the emails or address anymore. Not sure, but I think I found him on the Confederate General Lee Fan Club forum, which does not exist anymore. Anyone here knows who it could have been? Thanks! Werner

I've just noticed that the decals on the doors of the patrol cars in the Reunion movie are different from those in the series. Throughout all seven seasons the 6-pointed sheriff's badges on the Hazzard cars had a pair of scales in the center, "County Sheriff" around them, and "Hazzard County" underneath. In the Reunion movie the design in the middle has changed, and the words "Hazzard County Sheriff" are around it (no text underneath) - see first picture below. The second picture is from the Roseville patrol car that was is 'New Deputy in Town'. The center logo is the same. Hey y'all. As some of you may know u built a General Lee bike over the summer. Last week I left a post about building a push bar for my bike. It was during this that Brian Coltrane suggested I build a Hazzard County Police bike. I've been toying with that idea since christmas,and so I've finally decided to build one. Normally I paint the graphics on,but for this project I might look at getting decals made up instead. Does anyone have any suggestions about how Id go about this? Id never seen a patrol car like that one in any other episode anyone know what make it was could it have been an early Plymouth. Also In Swamp Molly Most of the Time the Patrol Cars are Plymouth Furys but in a couple of Scenes its a differant car Ford or a Dodge? Cheers

I'm sure not many of you have noticed this, but in the episode "Mason Dixon's Girls" (the one with "Mari-Jew-Wana"), there is an inaccuracy! Enos crashes by the side of the road (like half a corkscrew jump) in a pursuit, then we see him get out of the car. His car has Sherriff decals on the sides!

Hi, we're new here but we just got the season 1 dvd and watched it twice. We got into dukes w/ the TNN reruns. We have a very pressing question. How did Rosco and Enos tell their cars apart? It seems to me that one patrol car is specifically Rosco's and one belongs to the deputy. In later seasons, you could tell the difference because of Flash being in Rosco's car. But how did they tell them apart before Rosco got his little Velvet Ears? BTW: we also have a really cute basset hound like Flash

what kind of motors were they running in them mopars? was it a small block 318, 340, or 360? or was it a big block 383, 440, or even the 426 HEMI? also was it an automatic or a 4 speed?

HazzardNet FAQ: "Rosco, Enos and Cletus's patrol cars -- The cars that were used from the third season on were late 70's Plymouth Fury's ('78 and '79's like above). I know that everyone and their brother wants a build a replica General Lee. But, has anyone did a replica patrol car? I understand they aren't the coolest cars to drive around in, but I'm sure it'll be a cheaper project.
