James Best / Rosco P. Coltrane

Is James Best and David Hasselhoff related by some chance because they kind of look alike or maybe it just me? They both have that dark hair, and I have seen movies and tv shows where is show James Best pre-Dukes era. Well , certainly before 1979 and when he was in "Ma and Pa Kettle at the Fair" he gives a great one-liner to the lady that is talking to him after church. Before I bought that movie I had never seen James Best being a Smart aleck in anything else much before that. But James Best when he was young was very good looking and he had that smile , and probaly our grandmothers went to see his movies when he was younger. Oh, I like his role in Hooper and that Hat i…

Hi ya'll! I was flipping channels and ended up on TV Land and it hit me that Jimmie Best was on Andy Griffith! Geez, he was so cute there! Sounds a little different, but you can definately tell its him. My eyes popped and I started watching the episode. I did not know he could play the guitar though! It was a great episode. Some of his Rosco traits comes out. Awesome!!!!!!

Howdy y'all. I saw him in a Bonanza episode in TVLand. He had a moustache. It was about salt. I think the episode is The Price of Salt. Can y'all help me find video of it? Thanks.

I'm wondering if the paintings used during the Dukes episode "Dead and Alive" are some of Mr. Best's paintings. I'm guessing they are but I don't know for sure. Does anybody know ?

I am officially declaring this "James Best Weekend" on the HazzardNet. Sunday will mark 100 years since he was born. Post all your James Best tributes and trivia here. Especially you MM, the one amongst us who knew him Best.

I don't know how to post facebook videos so I just post the link. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10203745494071578

I figured this would be the place to gush about James's other works. Has anyone seen The Andy Griffith Show? He was in two of those episodes and I watch them repeatedly. I don't know how to explain it. The man just gets to me. In a good way. Hooper, of course, as Cully. God, I can watch that movie and watch his scenes repeatedly and not get tired of him.

Jim's performance on the CMT awards tonight was a hoot! You could tell the fans really took to him doing the Rosco character. I laughed my posterior off!!!

So i hear he is supposed to be there but wanted to see if anyone has any "official" word on it?

Has anyone read "Best in Hollywood" yet? I got my copy in the mail last week, and I'll be posting a formal review of it on our homepage in the days ahead. But I'm also curious about what everybody else thinks of it. This book is the life and career of James Best, who in Dukes of Hazzard circles, is "Rosco" forevermore. He's done much more in life than chase the Dukes, though, and this book covers his personal history as told by the man himself. I'm nearly finished with the book and I have to say it's an interesting and entertaining read. There's also more than 150 photos in the book that any James Best fan would want to get a glimpse of. Also worth noting:…

ya'll have to go and check it out. this is prolly the best i've ever seen it. i love it i love it!

Held not in a movie theatre, but in a restaurant/bar that features live music on a regular basis, far as we can tell. The event is $100 a ticket, with proceeds going to charity. While the venue is an unexpected choice, it does claim to have three 16' screens. If you go, you'll be seated at tables and looking at the nearest screen. The real draw is the chance to breathe the same air as John Schneider and James Best, who are reportedly attending. Here's the link to tickets. https://www.xorbia.com/e/foundation/returnofthekillershrews No word yet on how the movie is being distributed, but if the world premiere can't get into an actual movie theatre, I dunno if you can exp…

I just watched "Last of the Bad Men", it was a pretty good movie for bein' so old. Jimmie was in it alot too, that's why I even watched it in the first place, He was the young kid that had never killed anyone, and he was always nervouse. But in one part of the movie he sang and played his guitar, he's a real good singer. But the worst part was when he finally got the courage to leave the outfit of outlaws and when he went to the Marshall, who was in on everything the outlaws were doin' , and the Marshall shot him. It sucked...plain and simple. Almost every other movie Ihave seen him in he gets kille, ex: Shenandoa when he plays Carter the confederate solider and he is figh…

I remember it like it was yesterday...hmm...maybe it was yesterday... nevermind...just kidding. I am now living in Hawaii, but I was a resident of Chuluota, Florida for about 6 months. During that time, I met a lot of wonderful people. One day my Landlady dragged me to the Taste of Oviedo fair. Not having much money, I was kinda reluctant to go, but she told me it would be fun. I agreed and accompanied her up past the food booths and back down. I had $15.00 in my wallet, but told her I only had $5. So we separated and agreed to meet in half an hour near the entrance. It was a hot summer day in Florida and I wandered around for a bit and I came across a large selecti…

I was watching a episode of My Wife and Kids and Claire was talking to guy in a chat room and his name was Pervis. Well Pervis was about nine years old but Micheal was worried that he was much older than that. I think the episode made a importance of watching where teen's go online.

Ok I was just wondering what that ment... I think I have the idea but I am only 50% sure on it. (Im having a Rosco moment)
