You're right Julie, Finchburg is the real one and Squirrel City is not. "THe Legacy" was a real episode and "Luke's Close Call" was not. (Although there was an episode titled "Close Call for Daisy") To answer yours, Mrs. Snodgrass and Capital City are the real ones. Here's one for you (or anybody else)...Buck Owens or Hank Williams Jr

Has the Dukes Influemced You or Your children?
RogerDuke replied to LoriDavenport's topic in General Discussion
Wow, luke fan07, what an awesome post!!! I was 19 when the Dukes first came out (I was actually born the exact same week John Schneider was). I've been influenced greatly by the Dukes ever since then and all of it has made me a better person. That may sound egotistical yet it's no credit to me but it's a tribute to Gy Waldron and all of the writers who gave the folks of Hazzard so much integrity. At a time in television when so much immorality had set in, the writers made fans from all walks of life see that The Good Book, respecting your elders, doing the right thing, working hard, putting values above money and taking chances to help others is cool. Sure people weren't perfect on the show (well, except Enos and Boss's twin Abe) but that just made it more real and easier to relate to them. I encourage you to continue to soak in all the good lessons that the Dukes teach. It's awesome that you look up to Uncle Jesse. I do to. He's my mentor and if I'm half as good of a man as him when I'm that age, I'll be doing alright!! I'm gone -

Right B.L., it's Big Dan Hogg. Here's one from "A Boys Best Friend". What's the name of the man who runs the Hazzard County Dog Pound? Is it Darcy Kinkaid, Mr. Winkle or Amos Stigger?- 3,830 replies

Here's a chance to show your knowledge of the show or get duped (tricked). Simply list two items and the responder has to answer which one was really on the show and which one is made up. I hope everybody likes this idea and submits their own "Duke or Dupe". Be creative. Here's some examples. Squirrel City or Finchburg Jeb McCobb or Judge J.B. Shaftner Walter's Paint Shop or Flat Bottom Archery Club episode names (which is real) Luke's Close Call or The Legacy

Shucks Bo, it took you 3 minutes to get that one. You're getting slow in your old age. You're right, it's Enos. Here's some old answers from questions I posted earlier that weren't responded to. In "Revenge of Hughie Hogg" it was Rosco's personal car that was on. It got beat up pretty bad but at least it didn't blow up like Enos's station wagon in another episode. In "The Great Insurance Fraud" it was Boss who masterminded the scheme. Rosco wanted to vacation in Hawaii. Bottomless Lake was the lake featured. Here's a question from "Boss Behind Bars". When the Beaudry's sabotaged Uncle Jesse's race car and made it look like Boss did it, it was their intention to get Boss put in jail so they could do what?- 3,830 replies

Wow Bo, that might be a record breaker...2 minutes for a correct answer. I guess somebody is home on this Hazzardnet. Here's a question from "The Boar's Nest Bears"... Uncle Jesse mentioned coaching 4 boys in basketball when they were youngsters. They were Bo, Luke, Cooter and who? (Boy, I'd like to see some old footage of those games.)- 3,830 replies

That's what I would have guessed if I hadn't recently seen it. You two are thinking of the time that Flash picked out Boss from his (good guy) twin brother Abraham Lincoln Hogg. He barked angrily at Boss and was sweet to Abe. Try again. I'm gone.- 3,830 replies

Funny part on Find Loretta Lynn
RogerDuke replied to Bo Duke's Girl's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Episodes
I love Loretta Lynn. She's so country. She's my favorite female singer. I work with a guy who was at the filming of "Coal Miner's Daughter" He was standing on top of the huge hill when Tommy Lee Jones drove the jeep up it. He said to look close because there was actually a cable that pulled it up. Shoot, the General could have jumped up that thing. Of course the film was based prior to 1969 and he hadn't been born yet. Okay, that last one might have been a little tough. Scratch D and E....the answer is one of the Hazzard County lawmen. Which one? Speaking of lawmen...in "Too Many Roscos" how did the real Rosco get distinguished from the fake one at the end? A) Rosco gave Boss the bags of money. A real crook wouldn't have done that. The imposters mask started melting C) Flash only barks angrily at bad guys never at Rosco.- 3,830 replies

Here's an amazing coincidence. Tonight I just got done listening to The Charlie Daniels Band (Super Hits CD) and immediately turned the TV on to CNN and guess who was being interviewed? How crazy is that? I mean, it's not like Charlie is on CNN a lot. In this case he was talking about doing a charity concert for an injured vet. I just love that old ridge runner. Charlie Daniels For President. I'm gone.

Hey luke fan07, the quote you use on the bottom of your posts (...better combination...) is my all time favorite quote that's ever been on the show. You might know this, but it's from the episode "The Legacy" and was quoted by Uncle Jesse's old girlfriend, Lucinda Meadows. You altered it a little bit but that's okay since you didn't change the meaning. I'm gone.

Right MaryAnne, It's Milo. It's too bad the Beaudry's did bad things like kidnapping Daisy. Other than that, they would have been really likable. They remind me of Earnest T Bass and the Darlings on Andy Griffith...genuine hills folks. Here's a question someone might help me with. How did you say Mr. Darling's (Denver Pyle) name? Was it Drisco? Here's a trivia question from "A Baby for the Dukes". When the 3 younger Dukes were singing "Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys", they changed the lyrics and that made Uncle Jesse interrupt with "That's a good one!" What did they change the lyrics to?- 3,830 replies

I like "A Baby for the Dukes " (season 6) where Enos and Rosco have to ride horses because they wrecked too many patrol cars. Boss was taking a lesson from Ronald Reagan's "Reaganomics" and practicing a little "Hogganomics" I'm gone.

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
RogerDuke replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
You're right Julie, it was a Mustang. It was Cooter's garage that Boss was trying to tear down for his shopping center and it was the Nascar Mobile Cup that the boys brought home. Since interest in my trivia questions seems to be cooling off a bit, I think I'll try this. I'm just going to post one question per episode from now on. I suspect that people aren't answering because the tough ones are too tough and...If they don't know all 3, they don't answer any at all. I'm going to keep the question somewhere between an easy to medium difficulty level to give average Dukes trivia players a chance to get a correct answer in quicker than experts. Of course, if someone answers before you and you think it's wrong, you have a chance to correct them but a big factor is going to the timing of loggin in. I hope other people will start posting more questions. There's no need to post a bunch at once. People may respond better if you only post one at a time.....(less thinking and less pressure) Here's one now....Pa Beaudry's two sons are named Sledge and (what)?- 3,830 replies

Oliver Hazard Perry (I'm wondering if Hazard was his middle name??) was a significant figure in the maritime battles on the great lakes because he has monuments named after him up here. I don't know much more about him but maybe we have some history buffs out there that can help. Hey, LukeFan07, normally when I welcome new folks to the Hazzardnet I say "Welcome to Hazzard County" but it sounds like you're already there. Well, you're at least in the neighborhood. I don't know what would be better, living in Hazard Kentucky or Conyers Georgia. By the way, I remember when the Dukes stars visited Hazard.

Many younger Duke fans don't know about the 1981 "Dukes of Hazzard Soundtrack" but I'd like to explain the historical (or as Rosco would say "hysterical") significance this had on the show. This 8-track or cassette was the best connection us fans had with the Dukes except for Friday night . We played it over and over because there was no other way to hear a Dukes story being told and we were so thirsty for anything from Hazzard County (in addition to the "toys" that we owned and the pictures from magazines we cherished). We could hear the voices of many of the Hazzard folks on this audio gem and those voices were as important to us as the DVD's are now. This is a true cornerstone of Hazzard County and I can never hear enough of it. There's an old country song called "I watched it all on my radio" and this soundtrack is truly something that brought (and still brings) Hazzard County to life. I didn't just watch the Dukes on Friday, I could see them anytime I wanted with it. Whether it's the tribute to the General Lee by Johnny Cash, Boss's amazing narrating and singing skills, Waylon's extended theme song, Luke's "Cripple Creek" or Rosco singing about a man's best friend, this soundtrack has everything a Duke boy or girl of any age could want. Possum on a gumbush. I'm gone.

That is so awesome. I've only been with the Hazzardnet a few months so I'd like to post this question to our more senior members. Is this the first Hazard resident we've had that you know of? Living in Hazard must be pretty cool!!!....Even if they did spell it wrong. LOL Do you know how it got his name?
