  1. I'm excited to see BoJames and DaisyMae back at it. This is almost as fun as when Bo and Luke came back from the NASCAR circuit. You can bet that I won't miss a single post. I love Christmas and I know these two talented writers will put on a great show!
  2. Agree Just 'cause he's retired doesn't mean he doesn't still have friends in the department

  4. Awesome!! I'm so excited about this. I can't wait to watch it with my grandson. Thanks for informing us Daney!
  5. It's November and it's cooling off outside but things are always warm and cozy on the HazzardNet with nice folks like Lori Davenport hanging out here and that's one reason she has been selected as HazzardNet's Fan of the Month. Lori is pretty famous around here. She's somewhat of a celebrity since she really is from Hazard. We don't mind that her hometown of Hazard Kentucky forgot to add the other Z. All that matters to us is that Lori loves the same favorite show we all do and, in many ways, she represents what the Dukes of Hazzard is all about. Lori joined the HazzardNet in the summer of 2007 and has blessed us with around 2,700 posts. She is 18 years old and has been a fan of the show most of her life. Her mother is a huge Dukes fan so Lori grew up loving the Dukes as well. (Lori's mom has great parenting skills) Growing up in Hazard was a lot like the Dukes growing up in Hazzard. Both are small towns where everybody works hard and has good old fashioned values. Lori has cousins she hangs out with and they act a lot like the Dukes. They kick up dust, fix cars, have farm animals and respect the family patriarch (Lori's grandpa is the Uncle Jesse of the family). Hazard is a southern town with speed traps, southern hospitality and even a vehicle that looks like the Mean Green Machine. In fact, the cast of the Dukes of Hazzard even visited there in 1982 and Lori's mom got to meet them. Lori loves the Dukes because it's great family entertainment, has happy endings, teaches good lessons, is funny, and occasionally has country music. She has all 7 seasons on DVD and loves the HazzardNet because folks here make you feel like family. She respects the moderators for all the work they do (and did) in creating and maintaining the best website on the internet. Amen, Lori! If you ask her who her favorite characters are, she'll respond that she like them all. Rosco and Flash have a slight edge over some of the others. Enos, Jesse and Luke are right behind, followed closely by everyone else. Lori is a huge fan of some of the older country music stars. Some of her favorites are Johnny Cash, Waylon, Tom Wopat, Conway Twitty, Dolly, Randy Travis, Keith Whitley and George Strate (no relation to Enos Strate). Lori keeps busy taking care of her horses, 3 dogs and cat named Midnight. She also enjoys softball and is a Texas Tech fan. She is passionate about reading, writing and drawing. She loves to draw cartoons and reading anything by J.R.R. Tolkien is one of her favorite things to do. She participates in fanfics involving Tolkien as well as Harry Potter. In fact she loves Tolkien's work so much she has learned the Elvish language Sindarin. One language everybody here on the HazzardNet knows is the language of Hazzard County. Those folks in Hazard Kentucky might not spell it right but everybody else here on this website sure wishes we lived in a place with a name like that. Since we don't, we're thankful that we do have a real resident of Hazard here to add a bit of Hazard excitement to this place. Thanks for all your contributions Lori. You're our favorite Hazard cousin.
  6. 5:00 Finally one that I can remember...of course it wasn't too long ago I saw it...
  7. Great job on the "Mystery in Hazzard Swamp" Garrett!!!!

  8. Wow Garrett for a second there I didn't know if I was reading a script from a race written for an episode of Dukes or a real NASCAR race. It sounded pretty crazy! Am I correct in assuming that Gordon thought he had a problem because a gauge on his instrument panel told him there was a problem? If not, he must have heard something that made him think there was a problem. I'd be interested in finding out what it was all about. I'll agree with you. It sounds like ESPN was being insensitive to AJ. My guess is that the folks at ESPN were arguing amongst themselves how to cover things when two dramatic things are going on at the same time. If they covered AJ too much and he wasn't hurt, folks would ctiticize them for not covering the winner. If AJ was hurt and they spent too much time covering the winner, they look insensitive. The bottom line is that someone's life is more important than a checkered flag....(or the end of a white flag in this case). Thanks again for your detailed analysis.

  10. *Grabbing a large dead stick for a club Jesse heads over to help Luke and Daisy only to see that the smaller monster is laid out and not moving. He then turns to the larger monster, also laying down, but as his club starts to swing downward, he notices a man's head sticking out of the costume. Shocked, Jesse sees the familiar face of Milo Beaudry* Jesse "Milo?!" Milo "Yes sir Mr. Duke. Please don't hit me. I'm sorry fer all the trouble we caused." Jesse "We?" *Jesse looks over at Luke and Daisy as they're pulling off the head of the costume wore by Milo's brother* Daisy "Sledge Beaudry?!" *Sledge still hadn't regained conscienceness* Luke "What in the world's going on here?" *Behind Jesse another figure enters the picture. It's Hard luck Jones* HLJ "I'll tell ya what's a going on." Jesse interrupts "I think I already figured it out. I do believe I smell shine in the air" Hard Luck *looking ashamed* "That's right Jesse. That job I got at the distillery wasn't very exciting so I went back to my old ways. I figured the swamp was a pretty safe place but being the cautious feller I am I hired these boys to scare folks away from the still." Jesse "But that's impossible. The monster I saw 50 years ago looked exactly the same as the costume Milo has on." Hard Luck "It is the same Jesse. My grandpap made that costume fer the same thing. Made it out of gator skin...amongst other things. Even reinforced the inside chest compartment with stainless steel. in case he ever got shot. I've kept it around all these years. Grandpap was nearly as tall as old Milo here so it fit him just fine. I made the one Sledge is wearing. When we was just kids Jesse, grandpap used to run all over chasing folks away who got near his still." Jesse "And he scared Andrew Harkness's grandpa to death" *Hard Luck held his head in shame* Hard Luck "I'll destroy the still Jesse if it will make everything alright" Jesse *yelling* That's the least yer gonna do after all the trouble you caused around here!"

  15. Thanks for putting such thought into these great responses folks. Since it's not unusual to see a car running around in modern times that's older, I don't think too much about the show being older when I see a old car or two or three. However when they show scenes in town (especially in the Goeorgia episodes) I do think about the show's age since you never see that many old cars in one place anymore....except a car show of course.
  16. I'm certain that it's catfish. I'm going to agree with waikiki about the champagne part too.

    Commercials

You folks have cool comercials over there Hoss! It's been weeks since I've seen a commercial here that wasn't a negative political ad. The good news is that after the election on Tuesday the Christmas commercials will start and I just love Christmas!!!
  18. Having just turned 50 in April (along with John Schneider) I got a lot of AARP advertisements in the mail. It just seems odd that they would sponser NASCAR but since there's a lot of older NASCAR fans I shouldn't be surprised. NASCAR's been around long enough that a lot of it's original fans are getting older. GO GO JJ!!
  19. Speeding toward Daisy with the speed and fury of a runaway freight train, the largest beast seems focused on her and is unable to concentrate on anything else. Then something forces the monster to lose his focus as Luke lunges toward him with a vengence. The monster alters his path slightly to go around Luke and his face crashes into a large low hanging branch. What happens next shocks all four Dukes and stops them in their tracks. The tree branch decapitates the swamp monster. His head rolls into a puddle as the monster's body falls to the ground. Close behind, the small beast trips over the larger one and falls on top of him. Seeing their opportunity to attack the smaller monster, Bo and Luke jump on him together and start punching him with everything they have. Then, the large headless beast joins the fight, striking Bo in the stomach.
  20. Hmmm. interesting post... but it has left me a little confused.... Is AARP the American Association of Retired People? I'm wondering if it stands for a different organization with the same initials since they don't seem like the type of group that would sponser NASCAR.
