  1. I was watching the local news tonight and got a big surprise. Before they go to the weather, my local station talks about human interest stories that are happening accross the country. When I heard them mention Conyers Georgia my ears perked up. For those of you who don't know, Conyers is one of the locations the Dukes was filmed at when the show was in its infancy during the first 5 episodes before moving to California. Anyways, a 14 month old toddler wandered into the Wells Fargo bank vault in Conyers and somehow the vault door closed. There were no adults inside and the door was on a time lock. After pumping air into the vault for the toddler to breath, eventually the little one was rescued after a relatively long period of time. The incident reminded me of another one in Hazzard County where Boss and Jesse were also stuck in a north Georgia vault with time running out. In that episode (Dukescam Scam...season 4), Cletus looked up and saw them sitting in the vault, exhausted from lack of oxygen. Clueless Cletus asked "Why is cousin Boss and Jesse Duke on the news?" LOL Thank goodness that the child was rescued by the skilled hands of the those who answered the call. It's like old Waylon always says "In Hazzard we tend to like happy endings"

  4. Yep I knew. It's just like the one my dad used to wear. Now we have to wear blaze orange (like the General Lee) because red hats are no longer permitted. My dad drives a white Ford pick-up like Jesse too....seriousely!
  5. Shucks. I just saw it and can't remember his name. I think it was Ira Murkins but I'm not sure. I know when they went and discovered his grave it looked like the same building (in the background) where the million dollars was burned on "Money to Burn"

  8. Cool Coincidence! I'm watching R.I.P. Henry Flatt tonight. Sorry about the numbers Hoss. I hope you didn't take out a second mortgage on your farm because you were too confident about my prediction.....and if you did, please don't sue me for the bad advice.
  9. Happy birthday Vance! (Christopher Mayer.....Feb 21)
  10. sand (glass is made with sand)
  11. They sure like to make things complicated with the points thing don't they? I suppose there's two sides to every story and there's logic in everything they do. There's also confusion and controversy in everything they do. It was nice to see the Dodge Charger #22 in the lead awhile!
  12. corn
  13. From Jude Emery "Grady Byrd, you couldn't catch a catfish in a coffee cup"
  14. Grady was the night watchman at Boss's gravel pit. (I just saw it Thursday! I started watching the episodes in order starting Jan 1 and lucky for me I'm at the end of season 2 right now. If you want to throw me a curve ball, you'd better switch to a different season! Which reminds me, I have to post a good Boss quote on his thread)
  15. Jimmy Carter (world's most famous PEANUT farmer and former president when "Limo One" was filmed)
  16. Good stuff!!!!!
  17. At first I thought he was playing Bo but I don't think there was a scene where Bo wasn't with Luke in the General. So, that must be the scene at the end we were just talking about where Daisy caught that dirty scoundrel Roger.
  18. I agree completely Gray Rider. Even though NW Pennsylvania (where I live) is a long ways from northern Georgia, the landscape looked the same as my small town and that's why I loved those episodes so much.....especially the woods at the still site on "High Octane". It would have been awesome if all 7 years were filmed in Dixie Oh well, I guess we should be thankful we had 5 episodes.
  19. I was just sitting here posting an answer on the trivia thread right now and my wife was sitting on the couch. She turned the channel (Dish Network) to channel 275 titled NEW. She turned it there because "INFO" said it was Kenny Chesney. Turns out it was mislabeled. John Schneider is hosting a program that is advertising a set of country DVDs from the 70s and 80s. In fact, Waylon was just on singing Luckenbach Texas. They just had the Oak Ridge Boys on also. As most of you know they appeared twice on the Dukes. Great....now Waylon and Willie are singing "Mama's Don't Let Your Babies...." This is pretty cool. It's my kinda music. It's distracting me from HazzardNet though. Now John just said the name of the show is "Country's Got Heart."
  20. I agree with waikiki....Dixie Auto Parts. That stuntman driving Roger's Jag sure doesn't look anything like him.
  21. Hershey Pennsylvania
  22. Racing was big news in the media today. USA Today's front page cover story was about NASCAR. Specifically they addressed the contoversy that NASCAR has become too safe (if that's possible). They begun the story talking about today being the tenth anniversary of the death of Dale Earnhardt. Also, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams did an interview with Jeff Gordon talking about his involvement with children's health and how he got interested in it. I imagine the USA Today story is available on their website.
  23. Great point Daisy...you're a smart one! Garrett, it didn't really upset me. I guess I was just pointing out a possible blooper but we'll assume Daisy is correct and look at the positive side of it. I just found it funny that guys my age are old enough to be cast as VietNam vets in a show.....LOL....I'm getting old. In fact, I've never been this old in my life.
