  1. To be honest with you I stopped paying attention to Jeff Gordon after that close call and unbelievable recovery. I was so focused on David Ragan I wasn't even noticing the others who weren't directly beside him. When they posted the results seconds after the checkered flag I was pleasantly surprised to see he finished sixth. Well, I say "pleasantly" for your sake of course because I thought of you. Hmmm, I'm not exactly sure why Dale Jr finished so low. He was down when I turned it on.
  2. Welcome to the HazzardNet Amit!
  3. I wouldn't have known her name was Stacy Williams but I was thinking of the lady who was on Teasure of Hazzard. I then looked at my episode list and seen that it was a season 2 episode so that's my answer. I never put the two characters together as the same person. Probably because they're 5 seasons apart and I usually watch the eps in order and just never noticed. You're awesome Hoss!
  4. I have a lot of respect for volunteer firefighters. I witnessed first-hand them saving my daughter's life when she was pinned in a car less than a half mile from my house in October of 2001. They are truly heros in every sense of the word. Good luck with the show.
  5. I watched the end Garrett and it was total chaos. Since I was rooting for the Georgia boy David Ragan, I imagine you can understand my excitement. It was so close on the last lap I was certain something was going to go wrong. You're right about Gordon's amazing recovery from the spin-out with 3 laps to go. My jaw literally dropped and I yelled "Whoa!". My wife was in the other room and I scared her a little because she thought something bad happened. I played it over and over and still can't figured out how he recovered from that. I guess it can be summed up in one word. SKILL I called my Dale Jr friend and he wasn't too happy. I think he blames me for switching from Dale to David. Oh well, he's aware of my love of the Dukes and Peachtree Georgia is about as Dukes-like as you can get. (Although his website said he lived in some other town in Georgia....maybe it's nearby) Sorry to hear you missed it. I'm glad to hear you had a fun concert though.
  6. Wow Daney! Thank you very much. Did you get this information from a website?
  7. Wow! Thanks for that response Garrett. That sure helped a lot but it also confused me even more. The thing that struck me most is that David Ragen is from Peachtree Georgia. I'm going to google him and learn more about him. Peachtree Georgia sounds like a place that could be just down the road from Hazzard. In fact, there was a Peachtree Lane on the show. I should check my notebook and see which episode it was on. I wish I could settle down and pick a favorite. Hopefully I will soon. I don't like it when I'm indecisive. Thanks again.
  8. I suspect the reunion movie was written by a professional writer (or writers) with no input from fans. If they would have gotten input from die-hard fans, someone like you or I would have probably caught that, since the serious fans pay more attention to detail than anybody. I suspect it was just something that was overlooked. That's to be expected considering that they had more important things to worry about. Even if someone would have brought it up during the filming someone would have just pointed out that it wasn't that important and nobody will notice. Little did they know that nothing would get past the Dukes of Hazzard Ninja, Hoss C.

  10. Nice job Lizzy. Nice job researching those old names Hoss. Putting in an extra effort like that sure makes the question more interesting and educational. I'm going to guess Coffin Varnish.
  11. After rereading the last post that I wrote yesterday it might not have been a good idea to write "Many of them have little appreciation for those roots." After further consideration I realize they probably do have an appreciation for those roots. What I should have said is that they don't have a connection to those roots. I talked to a second knowledgable NASCAR person today about this subject and he agreed that all the big name new drivers aren't rooted in the origins of the southern race culture. All this being considered, I have decided to start being a Dale Jr fan. I apologize for being wishy washy on this subject but since I can't find a driver with a Dukes connection, I guess I should be a fan of the person who is the most like the Dukes, and that appears to be Dale. When I tried to follow NASCAR several years ago I picked Jimmie Johnson as my favorite. Later that year he won his first championship and then went on to win 5 more. So, maybe now that I'm a Dale fan he'll win at Daytona. In fact I'm predicting he'll win and break his long streak of not coming in first place. Just for fun, I'm predicting JJ will finish second.
  12. Hey Garrett (or anybody else who wants to chime in) I was having a discussion with my NASCAR friend earlier this week and the subject came up about how I struggle to find a driver to really get excited about. If only someone would get an orange 01 car, or even any colored 01 car, I would probably become a bigger more entusiastic fan. Being the biggest and most knowledgable Dale Jr fan I know, he pointed something out I never considered. Dale has southern boy roots just like the Duke boys and fewer and fewer of these guys do. Back in the early days of NASCAR almost all the top drivers were rednecks like me. (although being from northern Pennsylvania I'm not exactly southern). Now, most of the drivers have no ties with NASCAR's redneck roots and many of them have little appreciation for those roots. All this made me think. Maybe I should become a Dale Jr fan. Can you think of anybody else who represents the southern origin of NASCAR better than Dale. For that matter, how many real rednecks are even racing in NASCAR anymore?
  13. After getting up in the morning and putting on a sweater that ugly, he should have known he was going to have a bad day. (Woops, I'm in trouble if he stole that out of Hoss's closet)

  15. Woops! The stunt show at Yankee Lake has been cancelled. By the time I got off the phone to Ray Kohn it was too late to edit my last post. The show was cancelled for several reasons but there will be at least two more this year. One will be in Valparaiso Indiana on the last week of July. There will also be one near Cleveland Ohio on August 20. I'll post more about those later. Sorry about the mistake.
  16. Ray Kohn is up to it again. He has a show scheduled for Friday July 1st near Youngstown Ohio. These shows are truly great spectacles put on by a team of folks who love the Dukes of Hazzard. If anybody here gets a chance to make it to the show, stop by the area where the cars are staged and introduce yourself. Google Yankee Lake Truck Night for more information. Google North East Ohio Dukes for more information about Ray and his team. Also for more info, go to the original post on this thread to read what the shows are like.
  17. Welcome to the HazzardNet! I love your screen name!

  18. Well, Harem Nights wasn't really a guess since it was tucked away in the back of my head and located after I removed the cobwebs. I am completely guessing with this one. I'll say Sleepy City Saloon.

  20. Thanks for the update Garrett. (And for the good news). I had to work overtime again so I missed everything. In fact, your post is the first results I've seen. Luckily I don't have to work any more weekends for a couple more months. Hmmm, I didn't see Dale mentioned in your review.
  21. Welcome to the HazzardNet!

  22. That's a toughie. At first I was going to say Harem Heaven but I think I remember it having nights in the name. I'm guessing Harem Nights. If I'm wrong I bet it's something like that.
  23. Welcome to the HazzardNet!

  24. Hmmm, that is in California right?
