Hazzard County Christmas

Roger Duke suggested we have a little online get together to celebrate Christmas. I'm setting up a poll so folks can vote for which day is most convenient to them. The time will probably be 8pm eastern so most folks will be able to attend. The poll is multiple choice so you can vote for more than one day.

The annual Hazzard County Christmas party is the social event of the year and it will be here before we know it. We just don't know when it will be. So, as usual we're looking for a little input as to when the big disaster...uh, I mean celebration...will be. So, if you want to attend the brawl...uh, I mean ball....let us know what you think of Saturday December 17th for a date. We'd be starting at 6:00 EST but will likely be fighting....uh, I mean partying...for several hours. If that date is going to be too much of a problem we're considering having it on Tuesday December 20th at the same time. If things get really confusing we might even have two catastrophies...uh, …

It's time to be thinking about an evening for the 2012 Christmas party. Before we suggest dates is there any evening that you can't make it? I can't make it the 17th, 18th and 19th. That's a Mon, Tue and Wed. (For those of you who are new, our parties are in HazzardNet's chat room.....and don't say you weren't warned. They can get a little rough)

These are always tough to plan so we should start early. We're going to get together for a Christmas Party. We don't know if it will be in a chat room or simply posts on this thread. It will probably have to be on a weekend. Might I suggest (it's only a suggestion for now) 3:00 Eastern Standard Time. Before we start suggesting days please post here what days you would NOT be able to make it. I CAN'T make Saturday December 14. We also could consider a weeknight if the folks across the pond have a night they could stay up late.

We are going to have a Christmas Party, even if it is just on this thread writing posts like it is a group text. Two questions: Hoss, what is the latest (in eastern standard time) that you could participate? To the rest of you: What days would you not be available in the early evening? I was thinking Friday Dec 16 might be nice since Dukes used to be on Fridays.

YEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAW! I was shopping in my friendly neighborhood Kmart Super Center and what did I see but a banjo pickin' Christmas CD! So with delight, I snatched it off the counter and took it to the checkout to purchase it right. So now as I sit typing away, I listen to christmas tunes of banjos so gay! It fills my soul with Christmas cheer to have Christmas tunes played by banjos in my ears. Banjos, here banjos there, banjo, banjo... Banjos in mah head! Christmas Banjos in mah head! Yeehaw!

Just saw the Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas Extravaganza last Saturday night here on Long Island. What an awesome show. Brian Setzer doing his big band/swing renditions of Christmas classics and some good ol' rock ( Stray Cats ) thrown in. The atmosphere and the people made this special. Seeing the big band play along with the bandleader ( Brian Setzer on his famous Gretsch guitar) was one of the best concerts I saw. The best part was the Nutcracker Suite with all the horns and guitar. The stage was decorated with X-mas stuff adn the band was in holiday clothes, especially the female back up singers in little red Ms. Claus costumes. I pointed them out to my wife a fe…

Okay, who's excited? I start getting excited about the most wonderful time of the year way earlier than most folks. I love Halloween but on November First I start singing Christmas songs in my head.....and I never complain about all those early Christmas commercials.

We have Christmas threads for a lot of Christmases so I was a bit bothered that 2023 would go by without one in this section with the others . So, here I am singing Christmas carols all by myself. You can't have Christmas without cookies! My family comes from a line of bakers, so we bake starting weekend after Thanksgiving and by Christmas we have dozen of dozens of cookies in the house. Last year we had frozen cookies that lasted until March. Pendragon

Okay, it's a little early for this and I'll bring it up again but I had an idea and wanted to get some initial reaction to it. Even if only one other person wants to do this, I'd like to. I thought we should all try to watch "The Great Santa Claus Chase" (season 3) at the exact same time when it gets close to Christmas. Ever wonder why evergreens are used in traditional Christmas decorating? Well it has to do with the Greeks and Romans. They threw a party every year around the winter Solicist time to try to bring back spring and make the 'gods and goddesses' happy again.
