I've been watching 'The Masters' golf tournament for the last couple of days, so my mind was already on Georgia and unsurprisingly Dukes. Then tonight they've been showing a lot of Bubba Watson, so I went to Google to see what he's been up to since his recent purchase. I found the following video of Bubba showing NASCAR driver Carl Edwards around LEE 1 and even taking him for a spin: I also found a slideshow of Bubba talking with golf commentator David Feherty that includes some pictures of LEE 1. Watched the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction most of the past few nights. John Schneider's General Lee affectionately known as Bo's General Lee sold for $450,000. He drove it on stage , played the dixie horn and then got on the roof and got the crowd to sing " Good Ol' Boys'" and said a few times that it was the most recognizable car in the world. John even did his "jump" into the car on TV. Great TV moment. Bidding opened up at it sort of stalled at $200,000 for a bit then John got on the mic trying to give some history about it. I was in a department store yesterday looking at the magazine rack and the General Lee caught my eye. It was on the front of a small magazine that was advertising classic MOPARs. Inside there was a General for sale in Missouri for $70,000. (my wife doesn't like the idea of cashing out my retirement fund to buy it). I was pretty thrilled to see the General!

I found some info on some of the remains of chargers used in the show: Watching these episodes, several Dodge Chargers were driven/jump into Canals -- never to be seen again. The waterways on the Warner backlot are considerably deep (up to 35 feet). The General Lee is one of the reasons i love the dukes of hazzard so much, man i would have like to drive the general lee and i would like to have the General Lee as my car because the car is so fast that nothing could caught it. About 18 months ago, Byron Cherry tried to sell his personally owned General Lee on Ebay for $150,000 (see the HNet homepage article here). The car obviously didn't sell, because it reappeared on Ebay a few months later with a "Buy it now" price of $99,000. When it didn't sell again, there was an announcement that he was donating the car to the Tim Welborne Muscle Car Museum in Alabama. I enjoy watching the Dukes movie simply because of the car scenes. After watching it several times, I feel that I kinda like the color of "Big Bad Orange." I realize that the Hemi-Orange and the 75' Corvette Flame-Red is more accurate, and perhaps more popular. However, I'm curious to see if anyone has applied the "Big Bad Orange" to their General (or to any other car). If so, how do you like it, opinions, pics, ect...? Hey y'all! I'm sorry I haven't been on much recently, but I have been thinking about new topics! One of them is to do with the narrow minded people who get offended by the flag on the General Lee. As far as I know any Dukes merchandise is now being sold without the confederate flag. To be perfectly honest, I want to upset the narrow minded idiots who pressured WB into removing the flag. Just out of curiousity, does anybody know if it would be illegal for me to buy toy General Lee's from the manufacturer in bulk, add the confederate flag to the roof, and sell them on at retail price? I don't see how it's illegal, as I purchased the goods, used them, and then sold them. …

Years ago there was a website that gave all the particulars about building a GL, including the proper placement of the decals. That site is no more, and I've lost the instructions with my decal kit. Is there a source for measurements and the like? Thanks.

Im not sure if this fits better here or in fan art, but, I'm starting a new project. I bought a 1:25 scale 68 Charger at Hobby Lobby. There were, unfortunately, no 69 in stock, with no nearby hobby stores. And buying models online is a gamble that I don't want to risk. I'm going to try my best to turn it into The General! So if any of you have any tips, tricks, or recommend products, I would be very grateful if you could share!

Found it on somebodys myspace page, they were using it as their main profile photo. I tried to send them a message about it and ask them what was the deal with how the car got turned upside down like that.... it don't appear to be a 'screen-shot' from a episode. Good Morning, I'm sure this has been asked or attempted before. But I can not find a related post. Is anyone making complete General Lee Magnetic Decals for 69 Chargers? Has it been attempted? if so, did it end miserably with a rebel flag across the guys windshield behind you? I get that taking magnets off and on will scratch the paint.. I'm considering putting clear chip guard on first so that the magnetic decals can come off on and on. I'd even consider storing them on a spare roof and doors so that they retain their shape.
