James Best / Rosco P. Coltrane

I don't really know anything about music except older country but today I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and had to listen to some kind of rap-hip-hop type music. I don't really know any of those singers but my jaw dropped at what I heard. The song mentioned Rosco P Coltrane! I had the person replay it because I thought I was hearing things but sure enough, our favorite sheriff was mentioned. The CD was MTV party mix.....volume 4. The song was "they want efx" The artist was dar efx. dar efx is now officially my favorite hip hop artist. I'm not burning any of my Waylon CDs though.

Hi ya'll! I was flipping channels and ended up on TV Land and it hit me that Jimmie Best was on Andy Griffith! Geez, he was so cute there! Sounds a little different, but you can definately tell its him. My eyes popped and I started watching the episode. I did not know he could play the guitar though! It was a great episode. Some of his Rosco traits comes out. Awesome!!!!!!

rosco is funny to me because he is rosco!!!!!!! he is hilarious no matter what he does or says and i luv all of his funny lines such as...... "i luv it, i luv it" "Kew Kew Kew" "jit jit" "hot persuit" "Enos you dipstick" "What a horendous crash" "Freeeeeeeeeeeeze" "Cuff em' and stuff em' " "Shame, Shame everybody knows your name" and many more!!!!!!! why do you think rosco is funny????

So i hear he is supposed to be there but wanted to see if anyone has any "official" word on it?

Has anyone read "Best in Hollywood" yet? I got my copy in the mail last week, and I'll be posting a formal review of it on our homepage in the days ahead. But I'm also curious about what everybody else thinks of it. This book is the life and career of James Best, who in Dukes of Hazzard circles, is "Rosco" forevermore. He's done much more in life than chase the Dukes, though, and this book covers his personal history as told by the man himself. Judas Priest onna pony!

I figured this would be the place to gush about James's other works. Has anyone seen The Andy Griffith Show? He was in two of those episodes and I watch them repeatedly. I don't know how to explain it. The man just gets to me. In a good way. Hooper, of course, as Cully. God, I can watch that movie and watch his scenes repeatedly and not get tired of him.

Has anyone else here ordered this? and is within the untied states. Since I do not live overseas the time on shipping would not help many any for people that are oversea's since it takes longer. LOL. But anyhow... How long did any of you have to wait to get yours? I ordered mine on the 17th of March and then paid on March 19th. It said it may take up to two weeks due to high on demand but you never know when anything will arrive. I hope I don't have a issue here. LOL.

I did met James at a car show in Ohio that time I was 20, I was excited to meet him because I've waited for years to meet him from watching him on "Dukes" when I was a kid! Whoo! I did shook hands with him and chatted a little: My dad told James, "My daughter loved watching you on your tv show." then he said, "Oh, really?" then I told him, "Yeah." then he said, "Thank you for watching my show!" then I said, "You're welcome!" then I went to get a photo with him next to Sonny (Enos)!

This video is great, I dunno how many times i've watched it and not get a chuckle. Jimmie and Boss was great in it. and for the puppy love... Dog made me jump when it barked. Not to self don't watch so closely and turn the sound off next time. And for some "Awww's..." The Scooter.. and boy can she go!

Does anyone know how to mimic or act like Rosco? Thought it'll be cool.

I'm wondering if the paintings used during the Dukes episode "Dead and Alive" are some of Mr. Best's paintings. I'm guessing they are but I don't know for sure. Does anybody know ?

1. BadMan of Deadwood (this is Roy Rogers western so Jimmy is real young and he has a mustache is you can't find him in it.) 2. The Caine Mutiny(Bogart movie, he is one the guys in the crows nest of the ship). 3.Ma and Pa Kettle at the Fair(1952) he plays a smart alleck character more like Bo Duke in the movie he has a great line to one lady in the movie. 4. Hooper(1978) Great Burt Reynolds movie and if you looks real closely that is same hat as he wears in Dukes. 5. Ode to Billie Joe -Great movie watch to find out. 6. Sounder(1972) -He plays a mean Sheriff in the movie. If anybody can think of any Great Jame Best movies that they have or seen just had it.

I was watching a episode of My Wife and Kids and Claire was talking to guy in a chat room and his name was Pervis. Well Pervis was about nine years old but Micheal was worried that he was much older than that. I think the episode made a importance of watching where teen's go online.
