  1. I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he gets out of hospital soon.
  2. It was soon after AMC started supplying Jeeps for Daisy, so my guess is some sort of publicity/sponsorship tie-in. The wheels look similar to Dixie. US motorsports races often have a grand marshal, so they're just borrowing the term for this race. From Wikipedia: "Grand marshal: A person selected at an automobile race (eg NASCAR, IndyCar) by the track owner or race sponsor to be the public leader of events on race day or throughout the race weekend. They may have ceremonial duties such as giving the command to start engines, driving the pace car, waving the green flag to start the race, or presenting the trophy to the race winner." Sadly, the props department rarely spelled "marshal" correctly on cars and uniforms etc. - most occurrences show it spelled like this with two 'l's instead of one.
  3. Thank you for all your good wishes .
  4. Look out for some famous faces in this video. There's Jeff Lynne from ELO who co-wrote the song, and George Harrison and Ringo Starr from a little-know band called The Beatles . I Won't Back Down - Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers If you'd prefer a more acoustic version, try .
  5. Seeing as it's Sunday morning, I thought I'd play this... Hello Sunday! Hello Road! - Gil Scott-Heron/Brian Jackson
  6. HNet allows for up to 100 messages to be stored. This is a combined total of sent and received messages. If you want to keep your old messages, you'll have to save them to your computer. To do this, simply go to your private messages, put a check/tick next to each message you want to save, and then scroll down to the "Selected Messages" button: You can download your messages as XML (a web mark-up language), CSV (Comma Seperated Values), or TEXT (a plain text file). Once you've safely downloaded them, select the "Delete" option to remove the saved messages. The red/yellow/green bar at the bottom of the messages page allows you to keep an eye on the number of messages you have.
  7. I look forward to seeing your 3D models of Hazzard .
  8. I think AutoCad could produce two- and three-dimensional vector art, but it's overkill for this sort of stuff. There's some free 3D modeling software called Blender that you could try - the download site is here. It looks like you missed their conference in Amsterdam last month . It would love to convert some of my drawings to 3D, but it's a steep learning curve.
  9. I think that's 'The Law and Jesse Duke' (S04E26).
  10. The Dukes have a green tractor in 'New Deputy in Town', but it's not the same one as the recent picture. Luke does circles in the yard with the tractor at the end of the episode. I think this one's a Ford? We need Roger to take a look .
  11. A verb is a doing word (or werkwoord in Dutch). Festooning is like decorating or adorning, usually with garlands of flowers or something similar. Until I know what Enos was doing, I can't give you a better verb . I remember the Dukes having a tractor, but I'll have to check which episode(s) it was in to see if it's the one in the picture.
  12. 1964. BTW. Jimi spelled his last name "Hendrix" - he wasn't running a NASCAR team .

    Rosco's Patrol Car

I've only checked 'Gold Fever', but it looks like you're right. In that episode the patrol cars have side trim which appears to have been painted white (it may look like chrome here because I did my original artwork with a black outline around the trim).
  14. This is a cover of an original song by Jackie DeShannon (released a year earlier), but it's the version I know best. When You Walk in the Room - The Searchers
  15. As well as Sebastian Vettel getting his eighth consecutive win yesterday, there was another record set by the Red Bull team at the US Grand Prix. During the race they managed to change all four of Mark Webber's tires in under two seconds. The time his car was stationary was measured at just 1.923 seconds!

    Rosco's Patrol Car

How's this? I've done a new version of the Confederate flag license plate on the front and changed the rear one to match Enos' or Cletus' patrol car.
  17. I think this is the scene that both of you are talking about - it's certainly the scene I was thinking of. It's from 'The Great Bank Robbery' in season 4. The hat looks the same except for the text on the front. The other fire department guys have slightly different labels. I'm trying to remember if Jesse wore a hat like this in any other episodes. BTW. I think the signed picture of Tom and John was taken outside the coffin works/cotton mill building on Laramie Street, which was your second guess .
  18. Congratulations to Jimmie Johnson for winning his sixth championship. I was keeping an eye on the mid-table towards the end. Aric Almirola managed to finish ahead of Ricky Stenhouse Jr (who had a mediocre second half of the race), but Ricky stayed ahead of Jeff Burton. I think that means that Ricky finished 19th in the table, which isn't bad for a rookie year, although a few more top-ten finishes would have been nice (he did start a race on pole). I think my favorite move of the race was Junior doing a sling-shot past Keselowski and Hamlin just before Paul Menard's tire incident.
  19. Had to watch this one on Sky - we're back to the commercial-free coverage on the BBC for Brazil .
  20. I think that qualifies you as a 'serious' fan. Welcome to HNet .
  21. Dang it, they've gone to a commercial break, and it's barely two and half hours since the last one .
  22. Record breaking result - Vettel becomes the first driver to win eight consecutive races in a single season. I also enjoyed seeing Nigel Mansell and Sir Jackie Stewart in their cowboy hats (Sir Jackie also had a sheriff's badge ).
  23. Your race is 10 laps in, mine has 10 to go!
  24. I'm watching a good race in Austin .
