  1. The Dukes have a green tractor in 'New Deputy in Town', but it's not the same one as the recent picture. Luke does circles in the yard with the tractor at the end of the episode. I think this one's a Ford? We need Roger to take a look .
  2. A verb is a doing word (or werkwoord in Dutch). Festooning is like decorating or adorning, usually with garlands of flowers or something similar. Until I know what Enos was doing, I can't give you a better verb . I remember the Dukes having a tractor, but I'll have to check which episode(s) it was in to see if it's the one in the picture.
  3. 1964. BTW. Jimi spelled his last name "Hendrix" - he wasn't running a NASCAR team .

    Rosco's Patrol Car

I've only checked 'Gold Fever', but it looks like you're right. In that episode the patrol cars have side trim which appears to have been painted white (it may look like chrome here because I did my original artwork with a black outline around the trim).
  5. This is a cover of an original song by Jackie DeShannon (released a year earlier), but it's the version I know best. When You Walk in the Room - The Searchers
  6. As well as Sebastian Vettel getting his eighth consecutive win yesterday, there was another record set by the Red Bull team at the US Grand Prix. During the race they managed to change all four of Mark Webber's tires in under two seconds. The time his car was stationary was measured at just 1.923 seconds!

    Rosco's Patrol Car

How's this? I've done a new version of the Confederate flag license plate on the front and changed the rear one to match Enos' or Cletus' patrol car.
  8. I think this is the scene that both of you are talking about - it's certainly the scene I was thinking of. It's from 'The Great Bank Robbery' in season 4. The hat looks the same except for the text on the front. The other fire department guys have slightly different labels. I'm trying to remember if Jesse wore a hat like this in any other episodes. BTW. I think the signed picture of Tom and John was taken outside the coffin works/cotton mill building on Laramie Street, which was your second guess .
  9. Congratulations to Jimmie Johnson for winning his sixth championship. I was keeping an eye on the mid-table towards the end. Aric Almirola managed to finish ahead of Ricky Stenhouse Jr (who had a mediocre second half of the race), but Ricky stayed ahead of Jeff Burton. I think that means that Ricky finished 19th in the table, which isn't bad for a rookie year, although a few more top-ten finishes would have been nice (he did start a race on pole). I think my favorite move of the race was Junior doing a sling-shot past Keselowski and Hamlin just before Paul Menard's tire incident.
  10. Had to watch this one on Sky - we're back to the commercial-free coverage on the BBC for Brazil .
  11. I think that qualifies you as a 'serious' fan. Welcome to HNet .
  12. Dang it, they've gone to a commercial break, and it's barely two and half hours since the last one .
  13. Record breaking result - Vettel becomes the first driver to win eight consecutive races in a single season. I also enjoyed seeing Nigel Mansell and Sir Jackie Stewart in their cowboy hats (Sir Jackie also had a sheriff's badge ).
  14. Your race is 10 laps in, mine has 10 to go!
  15. I think I prefer the Miura (the car Jay Leno had either side of his Countach), although they also suffered from an aerodynamic problem, as this Top Gear clips explains: They also mention the car's appearance in The Italian Job - does it get better than this? During the week I actually saw a guy parked up in his single-seater Lamborghini, chatting away on his phone. This being Ireland, however, it was one of these : I bet Roger would prefer a picture of one of these on his wall .
  16. I think you're right. The picture came from the Wikipedia page, and there's a larger version of the photo. Before you get carried away and start saving for a Countach, they were apparently better to look at than to own:
  17. The guy driving the Porsche is the movie's director, Hal Needham. 'Speed Zone' also goes by the alternate title 'Cannonball Fever'. According to IMDb's triva page, 'Speed Zone' is "considered to be a distant relative of the Cannonball Run films, and in fact it was at one point going to be called Cannonball Run III." Those US-spec bumpers were really ugly:
  18. According to IMCDB, the Lamborghini in 'Speed Zone' was a Countach LP 5000S or 5000QV, although they also used replicas in the movie. The one behind John looks real. http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_549236-Lamborghini-Countach-5000-QV-1985.html Cathy starts out in a very similar car in 'Cannonball Run II' (which I got to see again last week ).
  19. Well, in a break from the norm this week, I actually got to see the qualifying and Garrett beat me to the write-up . Kurt Busch set the early pace, and I was pleased that Ricky Stenhouse Jr held 4th for a while on exactly the same time as Martin Truex Jr. Jimmie Johnson's looking good in 7th, but Jeff Gordon, who qualified straight after Jimmie, starts back in 26th. Elliot Sadler's team were delighted with 10th. In the end, Matt Kenseth got the pole despite a valiant effort by Brad Keselowski, who went last. Sunday is likely to the last Sprint Cup race for 58-year-old Ken Schrader, who starts 41st - read more here. Sunday's Ford EcoBoost 400 from the Homestead-Miami Speedway starts at 3 PM ET, and is live on ESPN. Don't forget that F1 is in the USA this week. The action at Austin starts at 2 PM ET (as long as there's no more fog), so y'all can watch some of the F1 race before the engines are started in Miami.
  20. Double Dukes is fine with me. 4pm Eastern is 9pm for me and 10pm for Roth.
