Thanks for the review, Garrett. I saw there was a green-white checker finish, but didn't know the details. I wasn't critcizing you yesterday when I asked if anyone was doing a review, it's just that I didn't want to leave it too long if I had to write one. I only saw some of the race, and my memory would fade if I didn't write it up within a few days. As usual, your review was worth the wait, and better than anything I'd have cobbled together . I was frustrated with Ricky Stenhouse Jr's race this week. He missed out on the first Lucky Dog by one place, and stayed a lap or two down and just out of the Lucky Dog spot for pretty much all of the part of the race that I got to see. I guess it's worth mentioning that Danica Patrick finished in a career-best sixth place on Sunday. Maybe she just wanted to prove Hobie wrong . Here's the full finishing order: 1. Kasey Kahne 2. Is anyone writing a review of the Atlanta race? I only saw about three-quarters of it, and it looks like I missed a lot of action at the end. If no one else volunteers, I can put something together tomorrow.

It's happened a few times in the last few months, but other days still have at least half a dozen replies. Maybe it's about time to get a new computer so you can be on here more often, Roger .

I missed the first 5-10 minutes of last night's qualifying, but I think it's safe to say that it was incident-free this week. Ricky Stenhouse Jr always seems to go out late in qualifying. His only fast lap was initially good enough for 24th place, but two drivers beat his time, pushing him out in the first session. I'm a little disappointed, partly because of his improved performance last week, and also because he was 11th in first practice. Kevin Harvick was only 16th fastest in the first qualifying session, but improved in second session and took pole in the third. Brad Keselowski is back on the front row in second, just in front of Kyle Larson in third. Kyle Busch is eighth, with HMS drivers Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne completing the top ten in ninth and tenth. Denny Hamlin seems to have put last week's temper tantrum behind him. Under the username 'james hamlin', he posted this video on YouTube a couple of days ago. Taken by his girlfriend, it shows Denny lip-syncing to Taylor Swift: As Garrett has mentioned in the NASCAR News thread, Tony Stewart is back this week, and has been declared eligible for The Chase if he gets a win in the next couple of races. I assume you're asking about the cast picture from 'On The Rocks'. It's Hal Williams who played Jonas Jones in 'Cooter's Confession'. He also played Officer 'Smitty' Smith in 'Sanford and Son' (another US remake of a classic British sitcom), Harley Foster in seven episodes of 'The Waltons', Sgt. Ted Ross in the TV series of 'Private Benjamin', and he has had guest roles on many TV shows from the '70s to 2013 (his last role currently listed). You can see his complete filmography here.

I've just spotted another weird (off-topic) connection. Assuming that IMDb is correct, Paul Smith and Richard X Slattery both played a character called Officer McMacMac in different episodes of the mid-70s show 'Monster Squad'. While I was talking about 'Bewitched' earlier, I suppose I should have mentioned that it was one of the later episodes where Darrin was played by Dick Sargent, aka Sheriff Grady Byrd.

He's Richard X Slattery, and you're right, he played the Traffic Commissioner in 'Herbie Rides Again' (the scene where Alonzo Hawk causes a traffic jam after stealing Herbie). By a strange coincidence, the police sergeant from the same 'Bewitched' episode was played by Herb Vigran ... ... who was the window washer in 'Herbie Rides Again'. Of course, 'Herbie Rides Again' also featured Don Pedro Colley (aka Sheriff Little). It looks like someone's updated IMDb since my original post.

Here's another picture of Paul Smith (on the right) in 'Sam's Witchcraft Blows a Fuse', the penultimate episode of 'Bewitched' from 1972. The episode also featured Bernard Fox ('Iggins from 'Southern Comfurts') in one of his many appearances as Dr Bombay.

This seemed like such a simple question ... Just to remind everyone, here's Hobie as the car salesman from 'Goodbye, General Lee' in season 4. As Roth says, the credits just give the actor's name "A. P. Smith", and the only other acting credit for A P Smith on IMDb.com is for an episode of 'Alice'. NB. IMDb lists the character's name as "Hobie Harkins", although the subtitles spell it "Hobie Hartkins". Roth is also right about Hobie appearing in another episode, although the car he was driving was gray, not red. Hobie's first appearance was in 'Bye, Bye Boss' in season 3 (below). In that episode he's credited as "A. Paul Smith", which leads to a completely different IMDb page. Other credits under this name include another episode of 'Alice', and episodes of 'The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo' and an episode of 'Little House on the Prairie'. The dates only range from 1979 to 1982. I carried on searching, and found the Wikipedia entry for Boss Hogg mentions Hobie in connection with Boss' car lot (which would be 'Goodbye, General Lee'), but lists him as "portrayed by actor A. Paul Smith" (the credit name from 'Bye, Bye Boss'). This is when things get confusing, because clicking on the link they provide leads to a page about Paul Smith (American comedy actor), but it lists his years active as 1951-1976. It's worth noting that Wikipedia also says that Paul Smith sometimes gets confused with another American actor, Paul L. Smith, who is clearly not the person we're looking for. So, now we have a third name to lookup - "Paul Smith". Paul Smith's IMDb page lists a load of acting credits (constistent with the Wikipedia page), including the 1957 Elvis movie 'Loving You', 17 episodes of 'Mr. Terrific' (where he played Harley Trent), various single-episode appearances in shows like 'The Andy Griffith Show', 'Ironside', 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' and 'Gomer Pyle: USMC', recurring roles (mainly as cops) in 'Bewitched', and 36 episodes of 'The Doris Day Show' where he played Ron Harvey (below). I don't know why I haven't found any websites that associate "A. P. Smith", "A. Paul Smith" and "Paul Smith" as the same person. The Wikipedia page does mention some of his 'Bewitched' parts were credited to "A. Paul Smith", but these show up on IMDb's page for "Paul Smith". The Wikipedia page also suggests that he retired in 1976, so maybe that adds to the confusion. One of Paul Smith's later credits was for a 1975 appearance in the sitcom 'On The Rocks'. I'm pretty sure the series was never shown on this side of the Atlantic, although the UK show on which it's based, 'Porridge', still continues to be one of the most-loved British sitcoms ever. When I checked out 'On The Rocks', I came across some familiar names. One of the lead roles was played by Rick Hurst, while Sorrell Booke played a judge in two episodes and Patrick Crenshaw (Doc Petticord) was in another. Here's a picture of the cast which I found on www.sitcomsonline.com. Paul Smith isn't in it, but Rick is in the center of the back row. BTW, according to IMDb, Paul Smith was born on February 5, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which makes him 85 years old. Maybe 'shine isn't bad for you after all .

I was going to remind you of 'Return of the Ridge Raiders' which I mentioned in a post on the first page of this thread. Originally I thought that the wall on the right of the bar area (or the left of the screengrab) was flat, but then I went back to look at the scene again and realized that the Indian was hiding most of the corner where the wall goes back to Boss' office door. That means the layout is still consistent with your season 2 plan, except that the booth has been replaced by the small stage. I also realized that the picture of Whistler's Mother that I mentioned in my original post about this episode is on the wall behind the stage (it was partially hidden by the girl on the stage in my first picture). It's also worth pointing out that the top of the set is visible roughly in the center of screengrab below. To be consistent with the exterior, the ceiling should start from the dark beam above the "One Way" sign.

That could well be the reason. I remembered an article called 5 Behind-the-Scenes Secrets From Cheers which says, "It took 30 to 40 extras to fill up the pub set as “customersâ€; any less and the bar looked too empty." I know "Cheers is filmed before a live studio audience", but I'm guessing that the original Boar's Nest took a similar number of extras to look full. BTW, I liked the new plans. Did you notice that Rosco is seen in the closet in Boss' office in 'Opening Night at the Boar's Nest', but the interior is so dark that you can't see any details.

Wow, well spotted, Roth. It can sometimes be videos like this that help to find locations, but in this case we already know where it was filmed . When I saw the opening, I was going to suggest that the location would make a good still site, but then I saw how close it was to the road, and besides, the 'gator didn't look too friendly. The copyright notice at the end says 1984 (Wikipedia says it was released in 1985), which means it was only filmed a few years after Dukes. It was also made by Warner Bros.

There was never an explanation of why the Golden Eagle decals disappeared, although it's clear that they needed somewhere for the Dixie decals when the doors were taken off.

Let's face it - Daisy's Jeep lost its doors and 'Golden Eagle' decals on the hood and we weren't supposed to notice!

Project I know there's an American TV show called 'The Mindy Project', even though I've never watched it. In the UK it's aired alongside other US shows like 'The Big Bang Theory' (which I do watch), 'How I Met Your Mother' and 'New Girl'.
