Cooter's daughter was Nancylou Nelson (played by Kim Richards). She grew up in Alabama with her mother, Beverly Hibbs, and her step-father. Her only mention is in 'Cooter's Girl' in season 6. Cooter's dog appears in 'Mason Dixon's Girls' in season 2. He's called Buster, which was Ben Jones's nickname when he was a boy. The episode also shows Cooter's farm which is "two miles east on Jessup Road".

It looks like rookie Austin Dillon will be starting Sunday's Daytona 500 on pole. I'll be sticking with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. this year, so I was a little disappointed to see he'd only qualified in 34th place. Having said that, he was quickest in Practice 5, the most recent session for which NASCAR has posted results. Garrett, you can't be too unhappy with Jeff Gordon starting in 6th, even if Jimmie Johnson is down in 32nd. 1 Austin Dillon # 2 Martin Truex. Jr. 3 Matt Kenseth 4 Denny Hamlin 5 Kasey Kahne 6 Jeff Gordon 7 Marcos Ambrose 8 Kurt Busch 9 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 10 Paul Menard 11 Josh Wise 12 Brian Scott (i) 13 Aric Almirola 14 Trevor Bayne (i) 15 AJ Allmendinger 16 Kyle Larson # 17 David Gilliland 18 Landon Cassill (i) 19 Ryan Newman 20 Clint Bowyer 21 Tony Stewart 22 Jamie McMurray 23 Cole Whitt # 24 Terry Labonte 25 Greg Biffle 26 Bobby Labonte 27 Danica Patrick 28 Casey Mears 29 Alex Bowman # 30 Carl Edwards 31 Brian Vickers 32 Jimmie Johnson 33 Brad Keselowski 34 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 35 Joey Logano 36 Michael Annett # 37 Kyle Busch 38 Kevin Harvick 39 Reed Sorenson 40 Justin Allgaier # 41 Parker Kligerman # 42 Michael Waltrip 43 David Ragan # = a rookie (i) = a driver not eligible to earn points Eric McClure, Ryan Truex, Joe Nemechek, Morgan Shepherd and Michael McDowell all failed to qualify. Dave Blaney withdrew. I know it's early in the season, but NASCAR seem to have improved their website this year. I won't go as far as to say it's perfect, but I think they're heading in the right direction. How have y'all found it? Nearly forgot - the Daytona 500 starts tomorrow (Sunday) at 1:00 PM ET, and will be live on Fox.

Motor Trend Channel's RoadKill - 1968 Dodge charger
HossC replied to Roth Potter's topic in The HazzardNet Garage
I was surprised how fast the Suburban was on the track. The Charger didn't get a whole lot of screen time in this episode, but they promised it would return. I liked the story about when they tried to register it. They also mentioned a lawyer in connection with the stock car, so maybe they're doing things a bit more legally now! They obviously have a bunch of cars with powerful engines that all handle really badly. It's a shame they didn't include the Kia Rio in the drag race . -
Judging by the upload date, this commercial has been around for a few months, but I've only just seen it on this side of the Atlantic. Mercedes-Benz TV: MAGIC BODY CONTROL TV commercial "Chicken":

Apparently, this song is from the soundtrack of 'Despicable Me 2' - I only got around to seeing the first one at Christmas! It still seems to be getting a lot of air play, and was the song that closed the BRIT awards earlier tonight. Happy - Pharrell Williams

Why was Roscoe replaced from time to time?
HossC replied to cs641's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
There's a short explanation of James Best's absence in the Frequently Asked Questions section on the home page. The “Sheriff of the Week†episodes were all in the second half of season 2: The James Bond actor you're thinking of is Clifton James who was Sheriff J.W. Pepper in 'Live and Let Die' (1973) and 'The Man with the Golden Gun' (1974). He played Sheriff Lester Crabb in 'Treasure of Hazzard'. Dick Sargent played Sheriff Grady Byrd in 'Officer Daisy Duke' and 'Jude Emery'. James Hampton was Sheriff Buster Moon in 'Return of the Ridge Raiders'. You can see pictures and a few more details in the Season 2 Episode Guides. Jackie Gleason never appeared in the Dukes of Hazzard. He was Sheriff Buford T. Justice in all three Smokey and the Bandit movies. -
I covered the 'People's Choice' hay cart jump in the Hazzard Square thread - see this post and the next one. Including the cut-away to the dip, they used shots filmed at four different locations to create that scene.
-
It's definitely not this jump. I'd guess this one was filmed on Placerita Canyon Road, but it could be elsewhere. I'm not sure if this is the same jump, but we're in the right place. The location is West Potrero Road, near Lake Sherwood. Check it out on Google Maps. This screengrab is also from 'People's Choice', and shows roughly where the General lands in the GIF above:

Welcome to HazzardNet, Patman .

I had a play with the image to flip it the right way around:

The episode is 'Trouble at Cooter's' (IMDb's summary starts "A beautiful fur thief named Bonnie Lane ...". The bad guy, Russ Mitchell, is played by Steve Sandor, who also played Mac Gifford in the Knight Rider episode you mentioned (top, right). The lower left picture shows him playing Burt in the A-Team episode 'Pure-Dee Poison' (S02E17) - the storyline concerned an illegal moonshine operation. The lower right picture is from the CHiPs episode '11-99: Officer Needs Help' (S04E11). Some of the other '80s TV shows Steve appeared in include a second A-Team episode, T.J. Hooker, Hunter, Hardcastle and McCormick, and three episodes of The Fall Guy.

Jaak's (Jason's) 1968 Dodge Charger GENERAL LEE Project
HossC replied to jaak's topic in The HazzardNet Garage
Thanks for the detailed explanation and photos, Jason. I look forward to your next post . -
Stuntman He was in two episodes: 'The Adventures of Ozzie and Harold' and 'The Further Adventures of Ozzie and Harold'. In the first, Ozzie is a homeless guy with an invisible friend called Harold, but in the second, he gets a bang on the head and becomes Harold, a millionaire businessman. When I was checking the episode names, I found that a 50s/60s TV series called 'The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet' had an episode called 'The Fall Guy' . The building dates to well before Dukes. It often played a livery stables, as seen here in the 1976 John Wayne movie 'The Shootist': You can see the rest of my Midwest Street/Shootist screengrabs in the Hazzard Square thread.

Buddy Hackett Dean Jones's co-star in 'The Love Bug'. I saw him recently in 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World'. He was also in 'The Music Man' which filmed in Midwest Street. This shot looks like it's inside Cooter's Garage:
-
Herbie I wasn't sure where to go with Aspercel, so I went with a co-star from another 1968 movie that Dean Jones made for Disney .
-
Wonder Horse Star of a 1950s TV series. The horse was owned by Gene Autry. Some of the series was filmed at the Andy Jauregui Ranch in Newhall, now part of Golden Oak Ranch. Andy Jauregui was a star of the Newhall-Saugus Rodeo which later became Saugus Speedway.

Thanks for posting these, K-Duke. I've just checked on my scanner (it's a Canon), and as well as the photo/text option, there's another one labeled "Descreen". This sometimes gets rid of the striped effect.
