  4. Wait until you get to the 2007 TV movie. They completely ignored the story of finding the General Lee shown in the TV series, and messed around with the ages of the characters. There's also no mention of the car crash which originally brought the cousins together. At least Daisy was a brunette, but she was portrayed as dull and unattractive until the day that she took her glasses off, and suddenly became the fantasy of every male in Hazzard. Sadly, the studios are still doing it. After seeing the trailer, I decided that I never wanted to see the CHiPs movie, even when it's free on TV. It appears to be yet another case of keeping the character names and throwing away virtually everything else that come before it.

  6. Roger, I think it was actually Lighthorse HARRY HOGG (so I'll have that as my go )
  7. Sheriff FLOYD - (from 'Twin Trouble')

  9. You have a great eye for detail, Andrew. I'm looking forward to seeing this build progress.
  10. I've just noticed that the name on the sign outside the church in some episodes (I saw it in 'The Runaway') is Rev. Bachman - a quick search shows that Roger mentioned this in passing on the Trivia thread. I wonder if this was a reference to Cathy, who shortened her surname from Bachman to Bach.

I'll go get my violin. I've just had my third weekend in a row without Formula 1, because they take a Summer break each year. There was also no BTCC racing this weekend, the NASCAR race was on too late and Formula E finished a couple of weeks ago. At least you can watch the Belgian Grand Prix next Sunday - I saw NBC trailing it during the Watkins Glen race.

Believe it or not, I just checked the NASCAR site to see when today's race started, and found I'd missed it last night! The night races don't work for me with the time difference, so I'd have missed it anyway. Thanks for the brief review, Garrett. I was just starting to read up on the Playoffs. Is it just the Chase by another name? Regarding the driver changes, it's always sad when one of your favorite drivers moves on. In Formula 1 there are only half the number of race seats, so you're unlikely to get many drivers past 35 let alone 45 years of age. Max Verstappen is already halfway through his third season, and he doesn't turn 20 until the end of next month. There are also some very talented youngsters waiting in the wings.

  18. Welcome to HNet, Jeff. I'm sure the answers to a lot of your questions have already been posted here if you have the time to look. We can point you in the right direction if you're stuck. You could also try to get hold of a copy of "The Dukes of Hazzard: The Unofficial Companion" by David Hofstede. Used copies can be had on Amazon for under $5 (it's currently $15.75 new). The death knell for the Dukes on TV and the flag on the car was the Charleston church shootings by Dylann Roof, although Warner Bros had been actively changing the packaging of Dukes related merchandize for years to hide the Confederate flag. Following the events in Charlottesville, VA last week, I can't see Dukes returning to US TV screens anytime soon, because the flag and General Lee (the man, not the car) are still very emotive issues at the moment. As I said above, the subject has been covered in the threads here in some depth.
  19. MIDWEST Street - (the section of the WB backlot used as Hazzard Square)
  20. As you want to see 'The Ghost of General Lee', I'd suggest season 2. Season 4 is slightly longer (27 episodes), and Season 5 includes the Coy and Vance episodes.

Same title, very different song. Ruby - Kaiser Chiefs
  22. Pritchard INDUSTRIES - (L.S. Pritchard's company from "Farewell, Hazzard")
  23. There's a trailer on YouTube (below) which doesn't inspire me to watch the whole movie. It's currently rated at 3.9 on IMDb.
