  1. Always heard the first 3 cars used Summit brand tires, but was unfamiliar with them. Googled them once or twice and came up with nothing. I struck gold tonight! Summit Super Trac is what the GA cars used. Just a new tidbit of trivia for y'all!
  2. So, here's my take: I intensely dislike (hate's too strong a word for someone I've never met) TB (Mainly because of what went down with LEE1), so I took it with a grain of salt. I've been binging Kibbe and Friends, and they actually just released an episode on this: http://www.themusclecarplace.com/kibbe-and-finnegan/kf-show-165/ The gist is Corndog, one of the co hosts (he also runs the Real General Lee website/Facebook/Instagram page), is a bodyman by trade and says that depending on many different factors, a paint reader can return many variations because it matches the color with a database. Whatever color the paint was sprayed over (T3 Bronze in Lee1's case) can also play a role. Now, Renaud Valuzet, one of the crew that built a majority of the TV cars (If it's in CA and has the narrow bar, it's 98% likely to be a Valuzet car) told Kibbe at one point they used "Dulux Code 70 Enamel". Code 70 is the GM color code for 1975 Corvette Flame Red. I may be messing a bit up, I only listened to it once. But it's worth a listen. In other words, it's highly unlikely that they specifically went for TNT Express Orange. We'll probably never know unless the guys that built the first 3 Lees ever come out and discuss it (if they're still with us- I don't think I've ever heard who they were, come to think of it). I've also heard that the first 3 were Hemi Orange, but they didn't like how it showed up on cameras so they switched to Flame Red. The first three may have been repainted Flame Red after Hemi Orange. I don't have a source because I can't exactly remember where I read that.
  3. I had a feeling I should have checked there!
  4. I was going to post this because I wanted to know where it was, but I managed to find it. It's the corner of Drayton and Springbrook in Santa Clarita, CA. Also, isn't that lifted K10 gorgeous?
  5. Reading that again just raises more questions about that last GA Lee. If the roll bar was from Lee1 then what the heck was cut out of Lee1 when it was restored? I'm thinking of making a dedicated GA Lee thread since they're my favorite of all the Generals.
  6. Thank you! True to Duke spirit, I'm planning on trying Moonshine since I'm turning 21.
  7. Well, according to this it can't be Lee2. Article claims Lee2's roof was cut off when they built the last GA Lee. The stories on the early cars are so intriguing yet so contradictory. https://jimsuva.typepad.com/blog/2019/12/last-built-general-lee-in-georgia.html
  8. I changed my username! I used to be Dixie2004, but I realized that we got my namesake, our boxer, Dixie, in 2005. So, I figured I'd change it to the name I use every where else.

Dixie passed on 10/17/2014. I miss her very much. Her "brother", our cat, Jack, passed away at the end of August this year.

We now have a one year old Boxer named Ace (I laughed when I remembered Ace Parker from Repo Men! I'd wanted to name him "Duke" to keep with tradition, and I arguably did anyways!

  9. I at one point dreamed of moving to Covington or Conyers, when I was about 15. But I realized it's too far from my family. So, at 18, I've decided I need to find my own little Hazzard here in Michigan someday.
  10. Okay, I don't know why I can't get rid of the quote, but in Daisy's Song, from the scene of the boys driving to Atlanta, to it showing Daisy sitting in it out back, the General doesn't appear to have a roll bar.
  11. Isn't that the exact same car the FBI dudes drove in Daisy's Song?
  12. Trans was already rebuilt once. It's a 5 speed too.
  13. Many of you know the Dukes' farmhouse in Georgia has been demolished. I think it'd be cool if somebody bought the property and turned it into a Dukes museum; an exact replica of how it looked in 1978. Thoughts? Obviously I can't do it. I'm a broke 16 year old in Michigan.
