  1. There's a short explanation of James Best's absence in the Frequently Asked Questions section on the home page. The “Sheriff of the Week†episodes were all in the second half of season 2: The James Bond actor you're thinking of is Clifton James who was Sheriff J.W. Pepper in 'Live and Let Die' (1973) and 'The Man with the Golden Gun' (1974). He played Sheriff Lester Crabb in 'Treasure of Hazzard'. Dick Sargent played Sheriff Grady Byrd in 'Officer Daisy Duke' and 'Jude Emery'. James Hampton was Sheriff Buster Moon in 'Return of the Ridge Raiders'. You can see pictures and a few more details in the Season 2 Episode Guides. Jackie Gleason never appeared in the Dukes of Hazzard. He was Sheriff Buford T. Justice in all three Smokey and the Bandit movies.
  2. I covered the 'People's Choice' hay cart jump in the Hazzard Square thread - see this post and the next one. Including the cut-away to the dip, they used shots filmed at four different locations to create that scene.
  3. It's definitely not this jump. I'd guess this one was filmed on Placerita Canyon Road, but it could be elsewhere. I'm not sure if this is the same jump, but we're in the right place. The location is West Potrero Road, near Lake Sherwood. Check it out on Google Maps. This screengrab is also from 'People's Choice', and shows roughly where the General lands in the GIF above:
  4. Welcome to HazzardNet, Patman .
  5. I had a play with the image to flip it the right way around:
  6. The episode is 'Trouble at Cooter's' (IMDb's summary starts "A beautiful fur thief named Bonnie Lane ...". The bad guy, Russ Mitchell, is played by Steve Sandor, who also played Mac Gifford in the Knight Rider episode you mentioned (top, right). The lower left picture shows him playing Burt in the A-Team episode 'Pure-Dee Poison' (S02E17) - the storyline concerned an illegal moonshine operation. The lower right picture is from the CHiPs episode '11-99: Officer Needs Help' (S04E11). Some of the other '80s TV shows Steve appeared in include a second A-Team episode, T.J. Hooker, Hunter, Hardcastle and McCormick, and three episodes of The Fall Guy.
  7. Welcome to HazzardNet, Stelth. I hope you enjoy your stay .
  8. Thanks for the detailed explanation and photos, Jason. I look forward to your next post .
  9. Stuntman He was in two episodes: 'The Adventures of Ozzie and Harold' and 'The Further Adventures of Ozzie and Harold'. In the first, Ozzie is a homeless guy with an invisible friend called Harold, but in the second, he gets a bang on the head and becomes Harold, a millionaire businessman. When I was checking the episode names, I found that a 50s/60s TV series called 'The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet' had an episode called 'The Fall Guy' . The building dates to well before Dukes. It often played a livery stables, as seen here in the 1976 John Wayne movie 'The Shootist': You can see the rest of my Midwest Street/Shootist screengrabs in the Hazzard Square thread.
  10. Roth, I know you didn't ask me to remove the watermark from this picture, and it was harder than the previous one, but here it is! I also had a go at color correcting this picture from the same post:
  11. Buddy Hackett Dean Jones's co-star in 'The Love Bug'. I saw him recently in 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World'. He was also in 'The Music Man' which filmed in Midwest Street. This shot looks like it's inside Cooter's Garage:
  12. Herbie I wasn't sure where to go with Aspercel, so I went with a co-star from another 1968 movie that Dean Jones made for Disney .
  13. I flipped the image to get a better look at John's shirt. At first I thought he might be a fan of the old tea clipper in Greenwich, London ... ... but then I remembered this :
  14. Wonder Horse Star of a 1950s TV series. The horse was owned by Gene Autry. Some of the series was filmed at the Andy Jauregui Ranch in Newhall, now part of Golden Oak Ranch. Andy Jauregui was a star of the Newhall-Saugus Rodeo which later became Saugus Speedway.
  15. Ayrton Senna (1981 British Formula Ford champion)
  16. British Racing Bentleys were among the earliest cars to use British Racing Green.
  17. Thanks for posting these, K-Duke. I've just checked on my scanner (it's a Canon), and as well as the photo/text option, there's another one labeled "Descreen". This sometimes gets rid of the striped effect.
  18. Gump (another man named Forrest!)
  19. I don't think the Dukes cards were available in the UK, but I do remember collecting two different sets of Superman cards around the same time. I'd forgotten that you could turn them over to make a large picture. Roth, I think we've covered this before, but you can get complete sets of cards on Ebay for $35-$40. Otherwise they seem to go for around $2 each.
  20. A 1:18 Dixie Jeep would be great. I already have an 'In Violet' (same as Dodge 'Plum Crazy') 1971 Plymouth Road Runner in 1:18, so I'll wait until they get Daisy's car right before I buy one.
