Some how I don't Burt Reynolds will go for a fat suit . LOL..I think he will be good in the role of Boss Hogg..The movie seems to taking a different direction anyway.

I am still holding out hope that the cast, with all the differences we we complain about, might have some chemistry together. I thnik that will be the key for this movie. Sure hollywood changes things around when they make a tv series into a movie, but if the cast works well it might be a pleasant surprise. Like gimp said, I would like to see the trailer first. But as a huge DOH fan , I hope it doesn't disgrace the original. Darrell

Praise be with you........I was having severe Hazzard withdrawal symptons the past couple of days. Just glad to have my home away from back up and running. For everyone that is new around these parts I want to let you know our moderators Brian Coltrane, Medaowmufn, & MaryAnne keep this place up like no other . These people do one helluva job for US , the Dukes fans. They fix the problems as quickly as they can, even tho they cause many of them...LOL -sorry just had to try and be funny on that one.. Seriously folks , if it was for their dedication to this whole site, we would have nothing and no place to go for one our favorite shows. So once again my hat is off to all of them...thank you for taking care of everything... Darrell

I would love to see Hank Jr do something for the movie. I have always liked hime or Travis Tritt to be the balladeer. I wouldn't be unhappy with either one of those two. Alan Jackson would be great on the soundtrack. And yes I do think he would fit good. I have posted this before elsewhere, but a mix of Southern Rock/Country would be my ideal soundtrack..just as long as Jessica Simpson doesn't get to have a song on it...LOL Darrell

I can't wait....but I hope it is not on at 4:00pm - Dallas is on Soapnet at that time...5:00pm would be ideal, since there is nothing I like that is on at that time. 6-8 , Walker Texas Ranger is on Hallmark Channel for me... I guess that tells everyone where my priorities are in the afternoon....LOL

It is not so much the Army part of the song, Luke was a former Marine anyway.. It is the going from moonshine to drugs that is inappropriate in the song "Copperhead Road" ....It still is an awesome song no matter what.

That is what makes this forum interesting, different ideas for the movie and casting. Read what you want into the WSJ article. None of us know what will be in the final cut of the film. Just got the game for PS2 , actually got the PS2 for the family and my wife got the game for the family.. What a game. It makes you really feel like you are in Hazzard County. I just love it..Ratbag did an awesome job on making this game.... I will let ya'll know how I am doing in the game and try to get some suggestions and tips from everyone... Darrell

I am so PO'ed that I couldn't attend the chat. I was so looking forward to playing Santa to everyone at HazardNet. I even hat my Santa hat ready while I was going to chat. Unfortunately I had to work at 4am Thurs and had the oppurtunity to work Christmas Eve ( holiday pay + time worked= BIG BUCKS ) . Thank you LaNative for sharing that. Very interesting article. I feel that since the article was in a very prominent and well read newspaper , it might carry on the debate over the hertiage/hate thing now. Alot of people , outside of HazzardNet, might not have known that there will be a DOH movie, but they might now. I feel that it might cause some unwanted publicity for the rest of filming or for the Warner Bros for thier "compromise" in the use of the flag. Unfortunately one person who takes offense to that can cause a lot of backlash . I hope and pray that this will not be the case. All of us Dukes fans know what the show meant to us. JessiDuke said it in a post - Family Values .....Thank you for a great post Jessi Duke Brian has some great counterpoints about having to explain about the falg in the movie. Dang........I am not sure waht day I have off for the holiday, either Thursday or Monday because of Christmas on a Saturday. We usually get Christmas Eve and Christmas day off, but X-mas is on a Saturday this year and threw everything off. Long story short, half of us are working Thurs and Monday off and the other half is working Monday with Thursday off.. Got it everyone. I sure made this complicated didn't I ... I won't know until Monday what I am working . Darrell

Who knows what will happen if the movie does well. CMT is going to start showing the Dukes again in January. That will definately build some momentum for the upcoming movie. After reading some of the articles , the movie seems to be a little more serious, which I had hoped for in a lot of earlier threads. I just don't think another TV series will come anything close to the original. If the movie does well, I just hope a sequel will be as good, at least if the whole cast does it. Darrell
