  1. That was good Pendragon.......Now stop pickin' on my family in the Carolina's ..... Darrell
  2. Leon might have not have been someone in the spotlight, but he was truly a great bassist. In my opinion , Leon is very underrated in the music business. Darrell
  3. Pendragon.. Very nice comments about Christopher Reeve.... I think Christopher Reeve had that rare determination and hope that he would be able to recover from his tragic accident. He never gave up. I hope others feel the same as him and continue thier pursuit of further research to enable them to hopefully one day find a cure and treatment .. Christopher Reeve was and will always be an inspiraton to many people Darrell
  4. It is funny that a lot of the "You might be a redneck" jokes do seem all too accurate. Even though I am Long Island, I have my Mama's side of the family in NC. And in a rural area, not a big city. Going down to visit and hanging around the people makes me think of Jeff Foxworthy. I liked the one Pendragon said about the funeral procession and pick-up trucks..That one hit home to me. My Grandma died back in 99 and we went down for the funeral. And drivin' to the cemetary , roads all shut down for her and about 10-15 pick-ups in the funeral procession and at the church. Darrell
  5. We have Bingo..thanks Val ...I saw the movie a few times and never thought about it til I read Randy was up for a part... Funny thing is , both had only had one scene each and they were not on-screen together either... I hope Randu does decide to be in the movie. And as I said in another thread , I think he would make a great Enos Darrell
  6. Forrest Gump is not correct...Sonny was Paul "Bear" Bryant in that one..but no Randy Travis.....
  7. Daney thanks for the review. Now I gotta get a PS2 for X-mas. I really wanted Nintendo for the Zelda games, but now with the dukes game olbly for X-box znd Sony I will end up getting it for the kids...Yeah right...LOL One question , Is the flag on the General Lee or is it the same as in the preview on the DVD set? Darrell
  8. Hey Y'all here is a bit of triva for y'all to answer... Randy Travis and Sonny Shroyer both appeared in a movie together.... Name the movie, sorry I have nnothing to give out as a prize. Just wanted to do this as fun... Darrell
  9. Hey Y'all got this off the ol' web ....It talks about the movie and the director...Just thought I would post it for y'all to read...Post what ya think about it..As for what my thinking is, I couldn't watch SuperTroopers, turned it off and haven't seen The Rundown or Club Dread, not sure if I want to either. Reading this is kind of discouraging about the direction of the movie might go in. http://www.elitestv.com/pub/2004/Sep/EEN414b2b3528ffe.html Dukes of Hazzard gets some Reptilian Help The Hollywood highway is littered with movies based on old tv shows that have failed. Most recently, Starsky & Hutch fell flat, despite a killer cast and pedigree. With news of a Dukes of Hazzard movie set to start filming, expectations are low. However, recent news regarding casting and directing decisions has improved the outlook The roles of Bo and Luke Duke are slated to be filled by Johnny Knoxille and Seann William Scott. Sounds good to me, Knoxville is eminently watchable and Scott can work well as a part of an ensemble rather than the lead. His work in the suprisingly enjoyable 'The Rundown' is proof of that. The big news of the week is that Jessica Simpson was cast as the role of Daisy Duke. Sure, that works, not that it even matters, as she will not make or break the movie. Plug in any attractive blond or brunette in that role and it would be fine. What is perhaps the key to whole movie, the fact that has been overlooked is the fact that the movie is being written by the hysterically funny comic troupe, The Broken Lizard. For anyone who has seen Super Troopers or Club Dread knows that these guys are all about comedy. They manage to blend the standard dick and fart jokes with a dry wink-and-nod comic timing. Their movies, especially Super Trooopers, is the type of movie that grows on you, the lines stay in your head and cause you to laugh twenty minutes later. Unlike movies such as American Pie or Road Trip where the joke is all in the visual and it is right at that moment, Broken Lizard brings comedy akin to Office Space, jokes that leave you smirking and trying to figure out when you can use those jokes for yourself. So to think that these warped minds are taking on a series as ripe for ridicule as 'DOH' makes me very optimistic. From the setting of the backwoods of Georgia, to such foils as Boss Hogg and Roscoe P. Coletrain, how can you go wrong? Plus, there is a character called 'Cooter.' 'Cooter' a term that can also mean a female bodypart that even saying the word makes you laugh, can you imagine the possibilities once Broken Lizard gets their hands on it? When first hearing about the movie you might have rolled your eyes, and when you heard they cast Jessica Simpon you very well may have thought they were just concerned about marketing and making money. But knowing that Broken Lizard is writing the script, well that is a movie that will be worth seeing.
  10. I am just hoping they don't use the Nextel's or even laptops. I still like the CB's. As far as the flag on the General Lee, look at all the DOH products marketed and made with the Confederate Flag . That is a lot of products. Take a look at the DVD set, right on the front is Daisy laying across the flag on the General Lee, this just came out in June 2004. I haven't heard any negative comments on it from any news source. And Wal-Mart. KMart. Target, etc, all had this prominently displayed, considering how politically correct and conservative those stores are... I understand what you are saying about the spirit of the show, but we have to wait to see how the movie will actually be. Again hoping they make it a dumb comedic satire. If they do keep the spirit of the early episodes of the series and without the flag in the movie, I MIGHT be ok with it, still will grumble there is no flag though....LOL Darrell
  11. Inga Thanks again for reposting the Ben Jones stuff. I knew I read it somewhere on here, just couldn't find it. Getting old(34) and senile...LOL I think Randy Travis would be great as Enos if that is the part he is chosen for. That would be a great casting decision. I can't see Randy as Jesse though, maybe the Balladeer if not Enos.. I still think Burt Reynolds would be good as Boss Hogg is they make this movie on the less comedic side, but with who is playing Bo & Luke & Daisy, I am not so sure they are. But if John Schneider commented on the script the way he did, Burt would be a good choice, in my opinion. I still would like Randy Quaid as Roscoe. I think he fits the part. And Andy Griffith as Uncle Jesse would be just too good... Darrell
  12. KellyJance I would love to go to the SEMA show out in Vegas, that is the best aftermarket show there is. That is great and good luck. Hopefully you will do good out there with sales and contacts and all. Darrell
  13. Inga Thanks for the info. That is great to hear..It kind of makes me feel a bit better about the movie. BUT let's just see if they keep rewriting and changing things up on us fans now. We have 3 of the original cast on what they think now. There was Ben Jones coments, which I think were lost when this forum got hacked. Although Catherine Bach wasn't asked directly what she thought of the movie, but said she liked the Jessica Simpson casting. I posted that link in a few threads last week or so.... Darrell
  14. I like going to to the big swap meets. Usually go to Carlisle, PA for the fall show and in the summer for the Corvettes At Carlisle. My brother has a 73 stingray...I usually got to the local car shows around us on L.I. Haven't been to Carlisle in about 3 years now though...My wife hated walking that place..LOL Darrell
  15. Mufn Do the math? Thanks....I plum forgot how to do that stuff. I had to ask my daughter for help....LOL....Now don't get yourself anymore tickets there now. Darrell
  16. Mufn Beautiful car...wishing I had something like that.. Just not sure if the wife will let me drive it though, she has the lead foot , not me Like MaryAnne , I have a Saturn too... Darrell
  17. TravelerF150 Where did you here about the settings for the movie? .... If it does take place in the present, I sure hope they don't take out the country feel. By that I mean not using CB's and using NEXTELS to communicate. A little thing like that would not be good , at least to me it won't. If they make the General Lee without the flag , it will change he aspect of teh Dukes . It will be just a movie with the Dukes in name only Darrell
  18. Had me laughing on that one....That was good Brian......
  19. MaryAnne I have to thank you now. I have to take out my cars and inspect them . It also gives me a good excuse to start cleaning my closet out now. Now doesn't it want you to find out how many variations of the early die cast vehicles there are? I never knew there were different manufactuer countries for these. It does make it very interesting now. I have die cast vehicles from the movie Cannonball Run - Burt Reynolds, that name seems to keep popping up somehow.LOL. I took them to a store by me that sells die cast cars and racing collectables. The guy there said he never seen them and couldn't get me a value , thery were not listed in any of his guides. Maybe he was too busy to really look. I don't know. It seems the early 70's-80's die cast, other than matchbox and hot wheels, didn't really have collectable value til recently. Maybe we will find out soon....I can't find the magazine I posted earlier, Die-Cast Digest. My Border's or B & N usually carry it, but haven't found it at either. The collectable shop I talked used to carry it, but the guy who had the shop moved to FLA...I am trying Darrell
  20. I got some good stuff at car shows too. Actually at Carlisle , PA mostly. Haven't been there in about 5 years though You can find anything automotive related there. YEEEHAAAWWWW... I picked an original ERTL die cast from 81? . I think it is 1/24th, doesn't say on the box, but looks to be that size. But I got a great deal on it and hadn't seen it before. Then ertl started making the 1/24th and 1/18th scale again.... Darrell
  21. MaryAnne Nice car......I have always liked that body style on the Firebird/ T/A...Is that a red stripe along the middle of the body? Here's a typical Hazzard style question....what have you gotten it up to? Darrell
  22. I have to agree that was funny. I ended up printing it out so I can read it when I feel... Have y'all thought about havin' a public meeting so us Hazzardites can attend? It will be in the backroom of the Boar's Nest right? I will but the watered down beer for everyone..... Darrell
  23. Hey Y'all Just wanted to start this and see what everyone has collected on the Dukes. What is your favorite piece of memorbilia ? What are you looking for? ...maybe stuff like that... Maybe , if the mods allow , we can start a topic to trade collectables....PLEASE Darrell
  24. R.J. Great , you finally got the DVD's....How do you like them? ..The TV movies would be great on DVD, just hoping they will put them sometime.I think the first reunion movie is available on video. Darrell
