  1. YOu sound like me going from song to song in mind and all that. I generally have one song or another in mind. LOL.

  2. I love Desperado...Clint Black's version? That is the one I know and love. I like most of his stuff though. What's not to like? LOL.

I like Darius Rucker's music. He has a nice voice and his music seems to stick country. I do have his CD and do like it though it's been awhile since I've put it in to listen to.

CDs are expensive these days...but it doesn't seem to stop me as it should. I'd probably be rich if I didn't buy all the CD's that I have bought and now have. Now I've also gotten into Christian music so I listen and buy both groups as well as gone to a few Christian concerts as well. Mercy Me is my favorite and am now listening to News Boys...if you've heard of them.:)

I like the guy with the deep voice of the Oak Ridge Boys as well. Amazing to think that he wrote the song about kids (can't think of the title of the song). It's a great song that is generally played during Christmas. That is great that Joe sent you a message! I bet that did make your day!

  3. Wow I feel important to see how many messages I've missed since the last time I was online- which seems to be forever ago.;) Thanks for the messages.

Sorry...New Kids are rock or something like that. They started years ago (over twenty I think) as the first big boy band to come out. Now fifteen years later they are back! No longer kids, but good none the less for that genre of music. They are the only ones of that genre that I have seen or follow. Their crowd is more shovey/pushy and more loud/obnoxious than Country...guess I shouldn't say that aloud. Afterall, what does that say about me? I don't think I am one of those and I am sure not all are that way, but there was a lot of that at the concerts.

  4. Yeah, I agree with you, Redneck Girl, about tickets being too expensive. I hope you will get your share in the future. Never say never! ;)

Talking about concerts...I went to three of them I bet you would never guess that I went to. (Reading this, please keep in mind that Garrett's author (me) is a girl ;) ) I have gone to three New Kids on the Block concerts. All three have been within a year of each other (Two back in last October and another in April of this year). They are definately not country, but they were fun. It was interesing to see the difference between concerts of different genres and how different the crowd is.

  5. Redneck girl - LOL sorry we keep missing each other. :) I never thought of who is my favorite Oak Ridge Boy would be...probably Joe since his is the only name I know. ;) They are all great. I love the low voice in thier songs. And I love that Clint Black song! Seems like a song that would go well with the Dukes! :D I love his music though so I guess I am kinda biased.

As for the hat, it was a Billy Ray Cyrus baseball cap that I had bought at a record store or some place like that. He signed the bill of it. It wasw kinda embarrassing, but it was worth it. :)

  6. Hey Lori - Garrett in Texas? I can't even imagine him going down there...I know he likes Lori and all, but I still can't see him down in Texas.

Maybe if you get a bucket of ice water and throw it at Lori, it'll wake her up. ;)

  7. I agree. Rascal Flatts is NOT Country, but there is so much acts that are like that. I like Dierks Bentley as well and his Sideways song is a fun song. What you think Darius Rucker? I have his Country CD and think he is great. LOL...Kenny Chesney is on the radio as I type this...I don't think I could get tired of his music or Keith Urban's or Toby Keith's. LOL, but I know and understand how you feel. I am that way with other artists.

Anyway, I hope you are having a good day!

  8. Redneck girl 01- Give it time and I bet you'll get to see your share of concerts too. I seen Clint Black a couple of years ago at a fair - he was replacing Willie Nelson who was out with surgery on his wrist or something like that - he played song after song for a couple of hours. He was awesome! Oak Ridge Boys was probably three or so years ago, they were great as well! As for seats, they all varied. I got on stage with BRC because my mom shoved me up there...he was singing autographs and I was right there at the stage and figured I would get his, but he signed my sisters and EVERYONE around me but me. So she shoved me up to get his autographed. He was surprised to see me, but he signed my hat for me!

  9. LOL Lori! I hope you have a great, trouble free summer vacation!

I am glad to hear that your muses are working well with you. Wish I could say the same, can't remember the last I was excited about my writing or an idea. Dang muses anyway...if you see Garrett around, send him home! LOL. Happy writing, I am happy for you.

    Once more, enjoy your break!

  10. Quien estas, senora Lori? HA HA HA! You've been to school a lot more than I have lately so you should be able to top me. I haven't had Spanish class in almost nine years. So you should be able to way out do me!

But since you insist on English. . .LOL.

How's it going Lori? Hope all is good with you. HOpe the muses are being kind to you!

Keep out of trouble now that you are out of school - you try anything, I'll send Uncle Jesse out after ya! :D

  11. LOL Redneck girl - you sound like me! :D Great to see another huge country fan. I agree, keep it country. Love Alan Jackson. Wish they would play more of that stuff here. Around here it seems like all they play is Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood - me personally am not a fan of either of their music so it gets tiring after awhile. Oh well, what else can I do, huh?

  12. Hey y'all...just thought I'd let you know he was in another Hallmark movie Saturday night, think they had it on again on Sunday as well. It was a great family movie...it is always great to see the likes of that on TV now a days. It was "Dance at my Wedding" or something like that. He had a big part in the movie and did an awesome job in it. Hopefully they will aire it again for those of you who missed it this weekend, because it was definately worth watching it!
  13. As for concerts, I have been to quite a few in the past, though it's been awhile since I've seen a country artist in concert. My favorite being Kenny Chesney with Keith Urban and Dierks Bently...or just Keith Urban with LIttle Big Town. Toby Keith was great so was Alan Jackson. Clint Black put on an awesome concert as did the Oak Ridge Boys when I had seen them. I have also seen Billy Ray Cyrus several times and even got on stage with him the last concert I went to.

Well sorry for all my posts...I really hope I didn't bore you. I can go on forever with Country Music, Dukes, or NASCAR.;) Thank-you for your messages, I really enjoyed reading it! :D

  14. (sorry, wanted to cut it down some)

I like a mixture of both styles. Am not a big Rascal Flatts fan, but do like a few of their songs. Toby Keith, Keith Urban, and Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson are my top favorite artists...Like AJ and Keith Urban's styles are way different. Also like Clint Black and the other artists I listed as ones they don't play any more. It all depends on my mood. But they should keep country, country.

  15. Hey Redneck girl 01 - thanks for the messages! I enjoy reading it. Sounds like you had a great time. I know what you mean about country not being country any more. It is sad to hear that they would follow suit with the younger artists of today, but I think that is what they need to do if they want playing time or to survive in Nashville...sadly as it is. They told Alan Jackson when he first came to Nashville twenty or so years ago, that he was 'too country'. Imagine that. Anyways, I really miss some of the country artists that seem to have gotten shoved out of the way. Like Dwight Yoakam, Clint Black, Mark Chestnutt and so forth. They should have two categories for Country, alternative Country and just plain country.

  16. Hola...como estas, amiga?

  17. Very true - how can you go wrong watching any episode of the Dukes? I know I do the same when I do watch my DVDs and mostly they are the same episodes that I pick out in the past. I have seen "One Armed Bandits" so many times that I can pretty much say word for word what is to say once I put that episode in. Probably about the same with the other favorites that I put in, but not as much as that episode for some reason.
  18. LOL Roger! You have me laughing just thinking of the scene that you are talking about! What a great scene/tactic to break up the tension and anger that had grown between Luke and Bo at that time. It even had Luke laughing after awhile! You gotta love ol' Uncle Jesse - he always knew the right things to say and do when it is needed the most! Thank-you Roger for bringing that up, I needed the laugh today.
  19. Toby Keith Alan Jackson Keith Urban Kenny Chesney Tim McGraw Brooks n Dunn Those are my favorite six country singers in about that order, but it all depends on the mood that I am in as of who I want to listen to and so on.
  20. Nah, DaisyxEnos, I wouldn't consider it a bad thing at all! I've done the same as you by placing a favorite episode in without watching the others before it. As I stated earlier in this thread, I've got all the seasons on DVD, but have only seen a few episodes from them...very sad, I know. I wish I could find the time in my schedule, and to stick with it, to watch an episode a day - that might even be the trick to waking up my stubborn muse that refuses to work with me. Anyway...I think you've done fine Daisy.
  21. I have to agree. I like the first five episodes that they aired in Georgia the best. High Octane was a good episode in that bunch, liked "Daisy's Song" just because it was something different - out of Hazzard and different clothes for the boys. Or "Swamp Molly" was fun to watch as well. Though the first five eps are my favorite in general, I would have to say that "Ghost of General Lee" is my all time favorite just for all the emotion that is in the episode. "Ten million dollar Sheriff" is another because it was then when I started to watch the Dukes on TNN - it was the second part of the episode (I can even remember the scene I turned it on to...odd I know). Or "Carnival of Thrills" for the emotion between in that one, but I do hate to see the boys fighting, really enjoyed the end of that episode. That is just to name a few...any episode with Bo and Luke is great by me. Especially with Rosco, Enos, and Cooter in them as well. You can never replace the originals...though I did really enjoy the episodes with LB Davenport in them. Was sad to see him leave and glad to see Cooter back - too bad Hazzard couldn't have two mechanics.
  22. That is great news! Thank-you John's No 1 Fan, for keeping us informed on Al's conditions. He will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Am so glad that things are beginning to look positive for him.
  23. Rosco by far! I never could get too much into the replacement sheriffs...don't think you could ever really come close to replacing Rosco. He may give the Dukes a hard time and may be on Hogg's, but you still gotta like him.
  24. Thanks Roger. Thinking of the Dukes, I always get to feeling bad when I think of all the seasons/episodes that I have on DVD and have yet watched. Well I have seen each and every episode more times than I can remember, but have only seen a handful or so from my DVDs. Due to the lack of time in my schedule and of generally going to the computer when I do have time...in my vague attempt to write. LOL. You can call me jealous, Roger, to hear that you have seen them that many times! Well, maybe not jealous, I'm happy to hear that you are able to watch an episode a day - I remember trying to do that. Sadly enough it didn't last very long. Oh well...I am always glad to hear of a fan as dedicated to the show as you are! Perhaps one day I will organize my life enough to find time to do all that I need to do and watch the Dukes. Which is your favorite episode, Roger?
  25. I bet you are looking forward to them coming in for you...hope you like them. I have all seven seasons and yet haven't even watched most of them as of yet. Am I bad or what? Hope you enjoy your CHiPs as well...I use to love that show. That was my all time favorite show before I got into the Dukes in '97. Think I have seen each and every episode as much as I've seen each and every episode of the Dukes. I had even wrote fan-fic of the show before switching to write DOH fan-fic. . .
