  1. Oh I am definately not complaining about Keith or Alan's CD's...they are both great. In fact, I like all of Keith's and Alan's music. So no complaining here about their music. :D You know through all this talk, no one has mentioned Tim McGraw. Anyone else like his music?

  2. I agree with the cardboard cases. Am not a big fan of those. Alan Jackson's new CD and Keith Urban's "Greatest Hits 2" is is in a case like that (of what I have) and am not a fan...as is Jimmy Buffett's Country CD that I have had for a few years now. So the idea has been around more, so it is kind of surprising that there isn't more of them or that they still make them that way. Though they all have the music paper in a different sleeve or so...Keith Urban even has a DVD in the one I got along with the CD. To me they don't seem to be as protective as the plastic ones are.

Please don't say they are going to stop making CDs! :( I'd be horrified...guess I'd have more money that way and wouldn't be as tempted to buy as much as I am now! LOL. I guess there could be a positive out of that.

Sorry for the long messages, hopefully they aren't too boring for you! Thank-you for yours...I enjoyed them!

  3. Ah Darius...lol. I think I would like to hear a song or two from Hootie and the Blowfish and hear what they sound like. I never heard their music and Darius has such a great voice! Funny thing is, the only time I've heard of the group is back years ago when I watched the Cubs games regularly. The announcers back then loved Hootie and the Blowfish and I remember always wondering how they would get a name like that for their group and had wondered what they would sound like.

  4. As I said, a long explaination to a short story. LOL. (The Cubs won all three games by the way ;) )

Mercy Me and News Boys are both Christian groups. Mercy Me is my all time favorite Christian group. Sorry, I should be more explanatory sometimes.

It is awesome that all the kids (They are all around forty years old, but are called kids. LOL) have decided to get back together. you don't normally see that and they put so much energy and excitement into their concerts and music still!

Oak Ridge Boys are awesome. The guy with the deep voice is great, love his voice. I have a couple of albums of them as well. Yeah "Thank God for Kids" is the one I was thinking of. Kenny chesney sings it as well on his xmas CD. Elvira is a great song! Love "Counting flowers on the wall" at one time I had the song on Eric Heatherly's CD, but I think I got rid of it.

  5. Sorry Redneck girl that I missed you yet again. Hope your computer gets to acting better. I know w hat you mean about songs in your head...this will probably be a long explanation to a short story...LOL

I work at a Day care in town with twos and three year olds. They have this book CD that t hey love called Victor Vido and Freddy Vasquez(Sp?) that is pretty much a song. Well I am a huge Chicago Cubs fan and this weekend they played the Indians and for once I got to watch the last few innings of each game this weekend (I don't have cable and am very limited to when I do get to watch them). Well the Indians' catcher's name is Victor Martinez. Everytime he made a play and they said his name or when he came up each time to bat, I had that dumb Victor Vido song going through my head...each game too! ERRRRR. LOL

  6. Redneckgirl01-I am sorry to hear that your ocmputer was giving you a hard time last night. I figured that you were having troubles of some sorts with your computer...it was either that or you were mad and attempting to ignore me. ;) LOL. Anyways, I hope it will cooperate with you today. Computers can be so frustrating sometimes!

  7. I can be in a few minutes if you are still there.

  8. Hmmm. . .that is a hard question. At least for me. Then again, it shouldn't be too surprising to me since the only 'new' or current show that I watch regularly is Numb3rs and Dog Whisperer and I don't see any connection between Numb3rs and Dukes. Especially not Dog Whisperer. So I guess I can eliminate Numb3rs and Dog Whisperer from the list.
  9. Happy birthday Mini! I hope that your special day was a great day and that the new year that lies ahead for you will be filled with everything good and happy - you deserve it! Have a great birthday, Mini Hogg!

  10. Yeah I saw that. It is neat that you were able to find a line or two that reminds you of your favorite characters on the show. My signature is from Toby Keith's song "Jacky Don Tucker" that says " You play by the rules you miss all the fun" or something like that...I think it reminds me of what my personal character, Garrett's, attitude is.

  11. I am not a Taylor Swift fan at all, but do give her credit to making it how far she has at her age. They play her and Carrie Underwood here all the time and it gets tiring.

Am a huge Alan Jackson fan. Enjoy his music and he puts on a good show. ;) I have most of his albums/CDs at home, I think his first two or three tapes of his I don't have. Very talented and very Country.

Hope you enjoy the CDs. :D

  12. Yikes, that doesn't sound fun at all! I think I'd consider it a bad day if I got any one of those last two mentioned, not alone both of them on the same day! Hope your leg is doing OK and that the ive stuff is going away also! I have sensitive skin so I can imagine how painful and itchy it has to be!

  13. Well. Happy belated birthday. I hope it was a good one. :D

  14. Congratulations Roger on your new addition to your family! I'm sure you are a proud papa! Glad to hear the baby and mom are doing well...you'll have to place your good influence on little Luke by playing him ol' Waylon songs and putting on your Dukes DVDs. You can't start 'em too young, now can we? LOL. Once again, congrats Roger. I am happy for you!
  15. I'm on for a little while if you want to chat. If not, hope all is going well with you.

  16. Don't get me started on how they protrayed Uncle Jesse on the movie. He would roll over in his grave seeing what they did to his character. He was definately not doing a good job at playing the patriarch part by doing things and saying things he would have wooped the boys if they even thought of doing it! Though I didn't think anyone had stuck to character in the movie, which had upset me, it was Jesse's character that had upset me the most in the movie. As I said, Lori, I am glad that you were able to see past the negativity on the movie and beyond everyone else's negative and angry repsonses of the movie. It is great that someone has found something in the movie that they like and are willing to back it up. It is great to see you sticking up for what you feel and all that. I highly respect your opinion, as you should know by now, and what you think. Thank-you for posting here. Well there is my two cents worth...for the little that it is worth. I better shut up before I continue to ramble on and on about this subject. I don't mean no disrespect to the movie or the actors or anyone who likes the movie, all that I have stated is all of my own opinion. One that won't change, but none the less, it is only my opinion.
  17. I am on but only for like ten or fifteen minutes. I am signed into chat right now. ;)

  18. I have a converter box and though I don't get to watch it very often, do like it much better than how it had been before. Before I had only gotten one or two stations that would come in. Now I have a few more than that...including CBS which I am excited about. I generally go to my parents' house Friday nights and over the weekend so I can watch their cable, but now I have the option to stay home Friday nights and can still enjoy my other favorite TV show (besides the Dukes of course ) Numb3rs which I look forward to watching every Friday night. Anyone else watch it here? LOL. Anyways, of when I find the time to watch my TV, I do enjoy it better.
  19. Hey you're on...I have a few minutes if you wanted to chat.

  20. Nice post Lori. It is great that you are focusing on the positive on the movie...which for me was kinda hard to find. Then again, there will never be anyone or anything that could ever come close to being as good as Tom, John, Cathy, Denver, James, and Sorrell was in the Dukes. They are a cast that is very unreplaceable in my opinion, no matter how hard they tried (though in my opinion, they didn't try very hard for the first movie at least - I refused to watch the second movie). In my opinion, it was a bad idea trying to make the movie in the first place, because to me, nothing but the originals will do for the Dukes. They are what made the Dukes great all those years ago and are still the ones that make the show still great today. I will admit, the plot/story line was a classic Duke plot and that I liked about it. At least the plot was Hazzard-like and the car scenes were awesome. Burt Reynolds I thought did a great and respectable job at playing Boss Hogg. That said, all the other characters were way out of character and there was A LOT of stuff that should never have been put in there or associated with the Dukes. It is very sad that they need that stuff to sell to the younger people today or to anyone. Once again, this is all of my opinion and I apologize if it makes anyone upset. It is just how I felt about the movie. I had went to see in the theater only to try to prove myself wrong about the movie and from the first scene of the movie, I could tell that I wasn't wrong at all about how I felt about it. Even if they stuck to character and held all the values that the original show had, I would have a hard time liking it due to it not being the original actors/actress and so forth. But it was way out of character and I found little to no value in the movie. As I said earlier, I did like your post and did like to see someone finding something positive of the movie. I am glad to see someone giving it a try. Thank-you Lori for your post.
  21. I like that song, Lizzy...I like Darius' music. That would be a good song for the Dukes - maybe right at the end of an episode after they put the bad guys away and have dealt with Hogg and Coltrane. Can see them at the farm, taking in all they have and realize what a great life they have. At least that is what I see when thinking of the Dukes and of the song you are talking to you. A couple of songs that I can think of off hand at the moment that reminds me of the Dukes is "Nothing but the Tail Lights" by Clint Black for what seems to be obvious reasons. Everyone up against the Dukes are generally looking at the tail lights of The General. Another song is "I run to you" by Lady Antebellum (their new song). Maybe not in the sense of the what the song is meant for, but how they start out by saying they run from prejudice, and hate, pestimists and so forth.
  22. Oops...missed out again. Sorry. Am now listening to my Lady Antebellem CD. They are a great new group and enjoy their music and their sound...listening to them and am attempting to write! *Crosses fingers* I haven't wrote a thing in what seems to be months due to this large thick wall that my muses seem to find amusing to put up in front of me from time to time. I have the world's worst muses sometimes - they enjoy the game of hide and seek way too much and I find it way too frustrating! Anyway, I shouldn't complain now that they are wanting to cooperate, as so it seems at least. I am just hoping it will last.

    Well take care!

  23. YOu sound like me going from song to song in mind and all that. I generally have one song or another in mind. LOL.
