  1. I think I heard somewhere that the boys (Tom and John that is) is ten years apart. John was eighteen, but told everyone he was twenty-four because that was the age the producers or whoever was looking for. Tom at the time was twenty-eight. That is what I read some time ago and had always thought. But then again, I've been known to be wrong from time to time. As for the ages on the show...I don't know what the character's ages were. All I knew was that Bo was the youngest and Luke was the oldest...placing Daisy in the middle. Take care and keep it between the ditches Garrett Duke
  2. I was at my parents' house last Friday (I don't have cable at my apartment) watching TV. While searching through the channels, I found "The Dukes of Hazzard" on TV - and not CMT! It was ABC family...it was on at eleven at night - central time. They were playing "Repo Men". I was really surprised to find the Dukes on another channel other than CMT! On the schedule of ABC Family, it shows other listings of the Dukes around midnight, but not every night. I don't know if this was listed other place, but figured I'd place a little note of notices of other sitings of our Dukes. Take care and keep it between the ditches Garrett Duke
  3. This year was my third time of going to Dukefest and I agree there are pluses and minuses to each location. But then again, nothing is going to be perfect or the way that each individual thought it would be like. I am just grateful for Ben and Alma to go to all the work they do to make it run. Just glad to see that the cast like Ben and the others still keeping the Dukes alive after all these years of the show ending. I think I am one of the few that didn't even attempt at getting an autograph. I already have Ben's, Sonny's, Rick's, and Jimmie's from the first year I went. But to look at the line on both days, I just figured that it would be almost impossible for me to get an autograph. Figured I'd be missing all the other shows with little chance of getting Tom's, John's, or Cathy's autograph. I would have loved to have gotten their autographs and probably would have stood in line if I was for sure I'd get their autograph. I think the one thing I liked about Bristol was that the cast took more breaks from signing autographs to go to the stage to sing a little bit before going back. As it is, they were on stage a few minutes Saturday afternoon and then back at the concert that night. I regretfully missed the concert because I went out to eat. They came back up Sunday, but only to sing one song together...but boy do they all look great! Especially John and Tom! It was great to see Tom there and see his surprise to see everyone there! They all walked down the isle besides me and I guess Tom kept saying he couldn't believe all the people. SUnday coming on off the track, he was taking pictures of the crowd! And always glad to see John : ...and the other cast. One of my favorite parts of Dukefest was meeting a great online friend that I had met way back when I had first started online. Being able to walk around and talk with her while looking at all the Duke vehicles was great - just to get to know her better. Meeting the Denver Pyle look a like was great too! I enjoyed the concerts that was put on...glad to see Jessi Colter this year. I was glad to see that they had Kenni Thomas come back from last year - I enjoyed his music both years. Met him last year and he was very personable and friendly. Wish him the best luck with his music - would enjoy hearing him on the radio. Another favorite part - other than meeting people from online and seeing the cast onstage - was the car jumps! Each year they impress me on how far and how bad they can jump/land and no one yet (of the years I went) has gotten hurt! It was always a joy seeing them jump and wreck cars on the show, but even more so, now that I have seen them do it in person. Overall, I had a great time and think that things ran somewhat smoothly. I am sure, with all that many of people, it was hard to please everyone and get things done. It is just great that people are this excited about The Dukes of Hazzard...after all these years - and to find out, that I am not the only one to feel that way about the show! If there is a Dukefest next year, I plan on going - that is if all goes right! Keep it between the ditches Garrett Duke
  4. She too could have made a mistake when she said that...I have always heard it to be May 11th - even before the disc set had came out. They have John Schneider's birth year wrong because when he walked in for the role, he gave them the wrong year in order to present himself to be older. He was only eighteen years old and they were looking for someone who was twenty-four or so. He told them the wrong birth year to get the job and that is what they wrote down. I know Denver died on December 25th and maybe Cathy is right when she said that. Afterall, she did know Denver personally and had worked with him. Perhaps she said it wrong and she or no one else caught onto it until it was too late. Whenever his birthday is...happy belated birthday Denver. Keep it between the ditches Garrett Duke
  5. Happy be-lated birthday Denver! Denver's birthday was last Thursday. Keep it between the ditches y'all Garrett Duke
  6. Season six will be coming out at the end of May...as far as I know anyways. I agree..."Opening Night at the Boar's Nest" is a great episode! That is one of my favorite episodes. There is a lot of emotion put within the episodes, between everyone, but mostly between Boss and Rosco. Bo always makes me laugh in that episode when they get wrecked by the bad guys and the smaller of the two steps up. Bo says "Takes a big man to send his goon out." (something like that) Then the main guy steps out of the car to stand way taller than Bo! LOL! Anyway, it's a great episode! Garrett Duke
  7. First of all: The Dukes of Hazzard will always be my favorite TV show. I can't see any other show replacing that on my list of favorites. I really don't have a lot of time to watch TV, but here is a list of my other favorites other than the Dukes: "Dog Whisperer" which is how I spend my Friday nights...watching Cesar Millan working and handling with troubled dogs. and of course... NASCAR...is what I watch most every Sunday (when I have the chance) and any Chicago Cubs game...season starts in four more days! Keep it between the ditches Garrett Duke
  8. I am listening to my Keith Anderson CD...great CD! Garrett Duke
  9. Thanks for the tip! Hopefully I'll be able to watch it!
  10. I don't know all of the special guests that they had on there by heart but here is a few. . . Oakridge Boys was on the show twice (I think) Dotty West Waylon Jennings was in an episode (other than his balladeer) Johnny Paycheck I am sure there are more, but those are the ones that come to mind at the moment! 11. Exhaustion silently ripples through Garrett Duke's numb body as he dries off the last washed glass beer mug before setting it back upon the rack with the others. Sighing heavily, he leans upon the old wooden bar to silently watch the people swarming around his ordinary saloon. Watching several of the men's expressions and reactions to the new poster that had been posted only a few hours ago makes Garrett laughs silently to himself in amusement. What could be so big about a damn card game? Shaking his head in disbelief at the crowd that gathers around the old beaten room before the opening of the weak wooden door pulls his attention away. A sligh smile of familiarity reaches his hardened face as he watches Chet walk confidently into the crowded bar. Garrett's nephew from his twin brother. After a moment, Garrett pulls himself away from the counter to walk to the keg while grabbing two cleaned mugs from the rack. Watching the beer fill and foam on one mug he quickly fills another one. Taking his mug to the counter he lifts one full mug up to gather Chet's attention. "Want a drink? On the house?" (cue Chet)
  12. I have finally ordered tickets and a hotel room for Dukesfest! YEE HAA! I can't wait to go and yet it is over three months away...I guess for now I'll have to stick to my DVD's. Khee! I can't wait to see the whole cast ...and especially Tom. I went the last two years and have yet to see him...and a couple of friends there as well! It should make for a lot of fun! Keep it between the ditches y'all! Garrett Duke
  13. I liked the part where Jesse comes out after seeing them in the window and got really excited to see them up and alive. I think I laugh every time I see that scene when Luke asks "Jesse, who's the wake for?" and Jesse says "That wake is for you two!" Everyone's expressions was great and then he shoes them off to the barn all upset at scaring him like that. Such great emotion behind everyone through the first half of that episode. Especially at the Boar's Nest when Rosco tells Jesse that the boys are dead...each character that was shown showed great emotions behind the news that Rosco had to tell and explain...especially Rosco. It was good to see how Rosco really did care for the boys deep down...loved to chase and to hate them, but would never want anything bad to happen to them. Keep it between the ditches Garrett Duke
  14. It would have worked better if they both were given an unique character to work with rather than ones that was taken off of Bo and Luke and given different names. There is more to a person than just a name... I have to agree about the "Fraud" episode with Coy and Vance...that is my favorite Coy and Vance and would have loved to see that with Bo and Luke. But then again, they deserve to have good episodes to do as well. It wasn't Chris or Byron's fault that Tom and John walked off nor was it their fault that they were given characters that was taken off of Tom and John's. But of the quesion...I'd have to go with Coy. Vance seemed to me like he had to look off set to read wh at he was to say before saying it. I'd agree, Byron seemed more in tuned with Coy than Chris was with Vance...but then again, they probably didn't have much notice to really get to know their character. 15. I always thought Montgomery Gentry's "Hillbilly Shoes" reminded me of the Dukes. Perhaps it's their attitude. I find a lot of Montgomery Gentry songs reminding me of the Dukes or of Hazzard...especially from their first CD. Hillbilly Shoes I was there when the men came, told us all the news Father forgive them for they know not what they do 'Til they walk a while, a country mile In my Hillbilly Shoes You want to judge me by the whiskey on my breath You think you know me but you ain't seen nothin' yet 'Til you walk a while, a country mile In my Hillbilly Shoes In my Hillbilly Shoes You can work all day in the muck and the mire Dance a little jig then stomp by the fire Ain't too much these boots can't do Might even kick a little sense into you Well I'm goin' up Cripple Creek, going at a run Going up Cripple Creek to have a little fun Lawman say's they found some tracks People saw 'em leaving but they never come back Oh, you don't know me You don't know, you don't know, you don't know 'Til you walk a while, a country mile In my Hillbilly Shoes In my Hillbilly Shoes. (By Montgomery Gentry)
  16. I can't remember the title of the episode this one was in...the one where Cletus was arrested with Bo and Luke. I thought it was hilarous when the boys made Cletus escape (since they were handcuffed to Cletus) they got him into the General (Bo driving) and he started fighting and took out the keys. Luke: Well then, lets have a vote. Who says we should turn back, raise hand. Cletus raises his hand and makes bo raise his hand Luke: Ok. Who says we should go ahead, raise hand Bo raises his hand to make Cletus raise hand, Luke raises his hand t o make Cletus raise his hand. Luke: Sorry Cletus, you're outnumbered. Cletus: I guess that was fair enough. I am sure it was probably said different, it has been awhile since I last saw that episode. But it went along those lines. 17. I love that episode! I found it hilarious when the boys crashed into Rosco and Rosco went to write them up. Rosco's expression when he looked in and found them not wearing anything, was priceless! And then the boys hiding their faces while leaving the court house in uniform and getting into the backseat...lol! That is one of my favorite episodes. Garrett Duke
  18. Exhaustion and anger continue to dance violently within Garrett as he sits slumped behind the black leather steering wheel of his beloved 'Spittin' Cobra'. Above, dark storm clouds snarl angrily down upon the small town while only small fat sprinkles of rain melt upon the dry land. Garrett shakes his head in dry amusement at the irony of the angry clouds, the weather matching the dour mood he now is captive of. "If it ain't one thing," Garrett speaks aloud to break the silence within the silent car as he continues to stare out through his window, taking in the town that he has lived only a few years in, "it's another." Feeling his anger grow with each second, Garrett pulls out a cigarette from his hardbox upon the dash board of his prized muscle carl. Flicking upon his lighter, he watches as the end of the cigarette lights up before letting the flame out. Blowing out smoke, he glances across the street at Cooter's Garage, watching Cooter walk out to the old pumps for a moment before running back into his garage to the old car that lies within the shadows. Blowing out smoke, he reluctantly glances up at the building that lies right in front of him, the tall towering court building. "Damn it," he hisses before glances down at his pocket watch, watching the minute hand slowly pass by. He was to stop by and help Mrs. Frinchwright with her stubborn fence that keeps falling down, but he can't do that until he gets things straightened out with Hogg. A rumble of thunder rattles loosely above to send Garrett's attention through the windshield to find Boss quickly walking in front of him. At the sight of Boss, anger grows rapidly within Garrett and Garrett quickly throws his door open before stepping out. "Hogg," Garrett yells out as he follows him up the cheaply cemented stairs, leading up to the glass front doors. "Not now, Duke," Hogg spits out as he throws open the glass door, refusing to look behind at Garrett, "I don't have time for any petty, pesky Dukes. Especially you." "I don't -" Garrett starts before the glass door is slammed close in front of his face, forcing his anger to accelerate even more through him. Throwing his cigarette down upon the cement, Garrett stomps upon it before quickly walking into the wide hall way of the court house. Turning the corner at the end of the hall, Garrett catches a slight glimps of Hogg's white end of his coat disappearing within the sheriff's station, before that door is slammed shut. Forcing a deep breath, Garrett quickly follows him in before Hogg closes himself into his office in the back of the room. For a long moment, Garrett stares at the closed door before rushing towards the door and throws the door open. "Garrett Duke!" Hogg spits fire out through his dark brown eyes at the young Duke, "You have no right barging into my office! The door is closed and that means no one is welcomed...GET OUT!" "Not until you figure yourself out of this mess that Rosco got yourself into!" Garrett returns the angry glare as he slams the thin white piece of paper forcefully upon Hogg's oak desk, holding it down tightly with an extended inex finger. "What do you think that is?" Hogg squints at it but can't see anything from behind Garrett's thick muscular hand. "Probably a speeding ticket or a parking ticket," Hogg shrugs, "knowing you Dukes, you deserve it. Now get out! You have problems with a ticket, you take it to the sheriff." "Not so easy Commissioner! The sheriff is under you, you have control of him and of what he does," Garrett demands before grabbing the paper off the desk to glare at it once again. "It's not only a speeding ticket...of which I don't deserve. I was going fifty in a fifty-five miles per hour. But a ticket claiming I owe over a thousand dollars!" "A thousand dollars," Hogg's angered look seems to lesson a bit at hearing what Garrett had just said, "you owe a lot of money." "I owe you or your petty sheriff, nothing!" Garrett yells back at the plump commissioner, "I wasn't speeding and I didn't owe you a dime before today. How does that come to a thousand dollars? You tell me, Commissioner." "Well Garrett Duke," a small smile forms upon JD's chubby face as his previous problem has momentarily evaporated with Garrett's problem. "as I said, that is Sheriff Coltrane's department. If you have a problem take it to him." Garrett rolls his hardened icy gray eyes at the commissioner. "I have. He said talk to you about it," impatience drips from each word, "of which I am doing right now. You better get this taken care of or I'll take this up to Atlanta. You have to have a boss over you somewhere." "Have fun lookin' Garrett," JD laughs while shaking his head, "because I am the boss...and yeah, you do owe us a thousand dollars. So pay it up, Garrett." "I ain't paying you or Rosco a penny...y'all don't deserve a penny!" Garrett yells at him, "I don't owe anyone a thousand dollars and not -" "Oh yeah you do," a small laugh rushes out of Boss as he leans back in his chair while pulling out a fat cigar, "you remember that fight you had with Dwight Slithers last month? At the Boar's Nest?" "Yeah so?" Garrett quickly snaps back. "You did a lot of damage to my bar and restaurant...damage that I had to repair out of my pocket; mind you," Hogg lights his cigar with a light twinkling in his dark brown eyes, "Damage to tables, glasses, the bar...the juke box. Oh and the front door was cracked as well in your process of your drunken brawl." "This is all a bunch of garbage!" Garrett yells at him, "He started it...he's the one that approached me and hit me in the back of the head with his pitcher of beer. What the hell was I to do? Just sit there and pretend it didn't happen?!" Garrett pauses as he feels his adrenaline rise within him, "I don't allow people to mess with me Hogg...not him and not you. I was defending myself as I am prepared to do now." "Well Dwight," Hogg shakes his head, "was hurt in your brawl...had stitches done and a concussion and a couple of broken ribs when you were done with him. What was your damage? A headache?" Hogg looks over his smoke at Garrett with a raised eyebrow, "That's what I thought. You are paying for the damage that was done plus interest...interest that keeps growing with each passing day. That is how you owe a thousand dollars, Garrett Duke." "Damn it Hogg!" Garrett punches Hogg's desk in front of him, causing Hogg to jump in his seat, "I am not paying for his stupidness! He's the one that decided to mess with me and to start the fight, not me. So go charge him, not me." "Not a chance Garrett," Hogg shakes his head, "Dwight is long gone out of the picture now, it is now between you and the local law. Which is us. You are to pay up now or you'll be arrested for failing to pay your fee." As if motioned, a loud piercing knock comes upon the hard wooden door. "Boss," Rosco's voice rushes through the wood, "it's Rosco." "I know it's you!" Hogg snaps at his local sheriff, "Come in, we've been waiting." After a short moment of silence, Sheriff Coltrane slowly walks in to eye Garrett cautiously before moving to Hogg's side. "Has he paid up yet?" he questions staring accusingly at Garrett. "No I haven't and I don't plan to," Garrett boldly states as he eyes the door and back at the law, "and I ain't about to go to jail due to Dwight. You were there, Rosco...you saw him start it." "And saw you kick the living day lights out of him," Rosco quickly says back, "you were kicking him even after you knocked him out. So you're paying...pay up. Khee khee!" "Y'all can forget it!" Garrett angrily spits out before he quickly and smoothly shoves everything that had rested upon Hogg's desk off onto the old floor. As Rosco and Boss angrily look at the damage, Garrett runs out the door, heading towards his car. "Garrett Duke!" Rosco shouts out after him as he begins to chase him down the hall, "Freeze!" Reaching the front door, Garrett finds that the drizzle has turned into a down pour since he had went inside. Glaring momentarily back at Rosco who lies only a few feet behind him, Garrett runs out into the cold win. "I mean it Garrett! Freeze!" Rosco yells out to draw people's attention, "You won't get away with this!" Ignoring the sheriff, Garrett climbs into his car to quickly speed away, driving past the garage to find Cooter watching in half amusement and half wonderment. Looking back into his rear view mirror he finds Rosco stumbling in his car before following behind with his sirens on. (CUE Amanda or anyone. Hope that is ok)
  19. 1. Smokey and the Bandit (the first one) 2. Black Dog 3. Remember the Titans 4. Changing Lanes 5. Men in Black If I had to make a list of favorite movies...those would be my top five pick. I am not all that big on watching movies, unless I am in the mood to sit down and watch TV for that length of time. I have seen the first Smokey and Bandit so many times, I pretty much know it all word by word. (In fact, I first got it on VHS and it is all worn out and I had to go buy the DVD ) Keep it between the ditches Garrett Duke
  20. I have enjoyed reading what has been posted so far...left me sitting on the edge of my chair. I can't wait to read more and see what happens to poor ol' Enos...you captured the picture in words with nice description and characteristics of the characters. If all that makes sense . Keep up the good work Keep it between the ditches Garrett Duke
  21. Wow that's a lot of money to pay for a map of Hazzard! It would be great to see it, but I don't think I'd pay two hundred dollars for it...I'll just make my own. Though I do know where you are coming from...things seem to change a lot from episode to episode. Especially from the first five episodes and the rest of the episodes...which makes it hard to write for. I just kinda make it up as I go along (as long as it makes sense)...but you always have to have the main buildings. There is Kissing Cliff...I don't know if anyone mentioned that one or not, but it just came to mind. Keep it between the ditches Garrett Duke
  22. I got to say that "Strange Visitor in Hazzard" is one of the episodes that I don't like...to me it is too far stretched and it did show that they were running low on ideas and so forth. It had really taken a curve from the normal plot line of the Dukes. Thanks for the web site link! It was interesting to read the five facts that they had posted...even though I had already known them...well most of them. I knew they had a cartoon series, but didn't know that Coy and Vance were the voices at first. I never got to see the cartoon series or "Enos" series. Keep it between the ditches! Garrett Duke
  23. The last two years I was able to make it, and it was great! It is just great to see all the fans and to top it off to see all the General Lees and the cast in person! The show just comes a live! I am looking forward to going this year!
  24. I caught that too and found it odd that Cathy would get his birthday wrong, but I have always heard it to be on May 11th. Keep it between the ditches Garrett Duke
  25. Jimmy and Sorrell made quite the pair on the Dukes...one that could never be replaced. I enjoyed watching their comments and reactions to one another...they always seem to make me laugh, no matter what kind of mood I am in. The Duke boys will always be my favorite characters along with the other Dukes and Cooter, but I love Boss and Rosco just as much. Rosco: Oh I'll win Boss Boss: Rosco, with your reputation right now, if you were the only man running, you'd come in second. That is the only one I can think of off the top of my head, but he comes up with some great lines! Keep it between the ditches Garrett Duke
