Pick your Characters!
RogerDuke replied to BoJamesDuke's topic in Role Playing - Original Characters
*winks at Enos* Yer doin' the right thing son. You won't be sorry. -
*Jesse's anger exploded like an erupting volcano* THAT'S ENOUGH!! You boys both simmer down right now! And if one of ya wants to throw the next punch you can just throw it at me!! Now Luke, if you're alright, I want you to go out into the barn and settle down. And I don't want ya coming back in until I call fer ya. Me and yer cousin here have got ta have us a man to man talk and it looks like it might take awhile. Now Bo, I want you to sit down right there *points to chair that Bo had been sitting on for the meal* and I mean NOW!

....and don't ferget this Enos....a man's gotta have his priorites in order if he expects ta sleep at night. your word to the Almighty has to be your top priority and your family and friends come next. Now I understand the fix yer in but you gotta understand that we can lose everything here and I know ya don't want that. Besides, you know that if Boss ever tried to fire the only decent lawman we got in this county, the people wouldn't stand for it. Hazzard folks has got their priorities too and they'd boycott Boss's businesses faster than a Beagle on a cottontail if he tried ta git rid of you. Now, you know as well as I do that old windbag is just blowing out a bunch of hot air. Besides I still got an ace in the hole when it comes to old Boss. It might not be a big enough card ta help us keep our farm but I can personally gaurantee ya that it will git ya yer job back *pause* that is if'n he even fires ya ta begin with.... -
Jesse doubted that the boys knew it......but it was always difficult for him to know when to jump in. Young men just need to vent some steam every once in awhile and sometimes that's all that's needed. It was always tough to figure out when they were venting in a healthy manner or arguing destructively. After all these years, he still couldn't tell. He decided to sit things out a little while because it seemed to him this was healthy venting. He feared he could be wrong but remained the silent referee for the moment.

All 4 of you are right. DaisyMae extends the record to 48 in a row. Can she sail into uncharterd waters and break the 50 mark? DoubleX has 36. Speaking of water..... Which of these were on the show? 12 Mile Creek or Clear Creek Hazzard Marsh or Mulberry Marsh Crater Lake or Comet Lake

One thing (of many) that made the Dukes of Hazzard so successful was the amazing way they balanced a variety of things in order to appeal to many viewers. Of course the show wasn't trying to target middle-aged and elderly women so it's no surprise there weren't a lot on. Those of you who are regulars on the Hazzardnet know that I never say anything negative about the series but I'll make an exception here. I wish they would have had Lulu and Miz Tisdale on a lot more. These two ladies were unbelievable actresses and I feel the show should have used their talents more often. Perhaps, their contracts were worded so that they couldn't appear too often...I don't know if that's the case or not. I really love the episodes that these two were featured on and hope they knew how much they were appreciated by their fans.

Jesse *authoritive and gently* Now Enos, you know that Bo is right. You also know that you took a sworn oath to uphold the law and that oath you took was with your right hand on the Good Book. *tilts head* I know you did because I was there for the swearing in ceremony. All us Dukes were. Luke even went on leave from the Marines to witness it, he was so proud of you. Now, what's more important to you son, your oath before the Almighty or obeying an illegal order that you know ain't lawful *voice raises* ain't legal and plain old ain't right. -
I'd buy you that hot cocoa Julie, but I see that the Lulu thread still is at 2007. I guess I'll go down and change it myself. Lulu deserves some respect.
-
Okay, I'll admit it. I don't really have anything to say about Christmas. I was just scanning the threads and discovered that this is one of only two (outwardly visible) threads that hasn't had a posting in 2008. Quick, whoever can be the first one to run on down to the Lulu thread and wipe 2007 off the site once and for all will be a hero. I'll buy you a buttermilk at the Boar's Nest....unless you prefer root beer.

Method Used To Blow/Shoot-Out Tires?
RogerDuke replied to TXZ045's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
Yes, thanks Tim, I never knew that. It's always nice to learn at least one thing every day. It's even nicer when that one thing has something to do with the Dukes. -
Congratulations General Grant!! That's great to hear. He is an awesome guy. The thing I like the most about him is that he is a genuine fan of the show and not just a person who acted in it. I'm sure that statement can be said about a lot of the actors but Ben Jones REALLY loves The Dukes of Hazzard. How long did you get to talk to him? Did you get a picture or autograph? How long was the line? Tell us more......

If you ever get a chance, rent "The Village". I don't know what kind of movies you like but it is very well written. Make sure you don't ask too many people about it because it's the kind of movie that would be totally ruined if someone even hinted to you about how it ends.

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
RogerDuke replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
I think Boss gave Cooter 5000 dollars for the garage. I agree with B.L. about the bisque. I also agree about the mortgage. It was a balloon payment. I'm not sure about the judges. Weren't there 3? For some reason, I didn't think they were characters who were on the show on a regular basis. Never mind, I'm mixing it up with the episode "Miss Tri-Counties"....B.L. might be right then.- 3,817 replies

A half hour and one peach cobbler later Jesse was relieved that the meal was finished with no incidents. As he stood up to put his plate in the sink he wondered how long it would be before the peace would be broken.

Jesse *sitting at kitchen table in deep thought* realizes that Bo is right. Whatever it takes to keep the farm is what he'll do. It's time to stop worrying and start acting. -
You're both right. DaisyMae has 45 in a row. Which of these were on the show? Old Creek Road or New Creek Road Conyer's Cavern or Jensen's Cave (episode names) Bye Bye Lulu or Bye Bye Boss

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
RogerDuke replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
Everybody's right, it's gold. I'll have another question tomorrow. To confirm Jessi's response to Lizzy..... In "Return of the Ridge Raider's" (season 2) the town of Hazzard is said to be between the Duke Farm and Capitol City. This means that Capitol City is south of the Hazzard since the Dukes are north. On maps of Hazzard County shown on other episodes, Capitol City is not shown so this means that it lies south of the County line. To see that the Dukes live north of Hazzard check out the episodes: Farewell Hazzard (season 5) and Boss Behind Bars (season 6)- 3,817 replies

When yer battlin' the federal US of A government, time don't mean a whole lot anyway. They're purty much gonna do what they want to. *hangs head* I think I'm just too old to fight anymore.... -
If you ever saw the movie "The Village" it will remind you a lot of that. There is a village in Pennsylvania from 1859 that has an Ogre that the villagers must sacrifice a human to once a year. Two young visitors from modern times come into the village...I won't give away too much more......John is one of the villlage's leaders.
