  1. This was the most relaxed Jesse had felt in months. The crops were in, the firewood stacked against the house, the bad shingles had been replaced and Maudeen the mule was fattened up for the winter. As Jesse walked amongst the Blue Spruce just east of the back 40, he chose to focus only on the good things as he looked at the potential Christmas trees. Yet, there were plenty of bad things....although the crops were in, they were skimpy due to the drought, the firewood had to be sprayed for termites, Jesse had to get a loan extension to fix the roof and Maudeen wasn't getting any younger. Despite the negatives, nothing could keep Jesse down today. To him, this was the official start of Christmas, the day he picked a tree. His plan was to tie a red ribbon on it and have the boys cut it whenever the time came to do so. Jesse thought of his childhood. One of the reasons he loved Christmas so much was that it gave him three reasons to celebrate. He loved to recall all the good times he had on the farm with his parents and grandparents. He loved to think about future and the great life ahead for Daisy, Bo and Luke. The third reason was the most important of all, the reason for the season. The birth of the Savior gave him a promise that when he passed on to the Promised Land, there would be a friend to great him. As he was looking at the top of one of the trees trying to figure out if it was too tall for the living room, he heard a yell at a distance. It was Daisy. She walked quickly toward her uncle with a smile on her face.
  2. ROFL You got me on that one. Just to make it official, I did mean Jeff Gordon!
  3. I saw the ESPN highlights of the race. I feel bad for Jeff. Things are heating up and the drama is intensifying. Hang on to your hats!
  4. Oh man, the bragging is getting disgustingly thick right now. Tonight I had a quote on national TV for the third time. It wasn't on CNN this time but was on the Larry Kudlow show that airs on CNBC at 7 pm EST. CNBC is NBC's financial channel. Once again, if anybody is interested you can send me a PM to ask about it. Like I mentioned in the last post, I don't like mixing a good thing like Hazzard County with a bad thing like politics....at least not in public...so send a PM if you're curious.
  5. LOL Now every time I see a West Virginia state quarter with that bridge on the back I think of you.

  6. It's really beautiful the way the colors blend together. At first I didn't really appreciate the blending but then I stopped and took some time and looked at it and the different shades are remarkable. Nice job!
  7. dream (It's 10:22 PM here and I'm already tired....LOL)
  8. That's it! You are amazing with your computer skills Hoss. I still haven't figured out how to do anything on this contraption but HazzardNet.... of course there's nothing else I want to do.
  9. You're right Jeff. Waylon did say Bo was with the Marine Reserves on that episode. Since Bo's hair wasn't Marine Corps regulation, I'm guessing he was just visiting and didn't sign the papers to join. I was in the Marine Reserves from 1978-1984 and our hair had to be as short as regular duty Marines. I do love that episode. I think it's the only one where we ever see Rosco's house. Also, we find out that Boss's birthday is 4-6-26. (I hit pause when the Finchburg Sheriff was holding Boss's twin brother's drivers license)
  10. None of these three are the one I have. The front of mine just has a picture of Bo on it sitting with nothing but brown in the background. Luke is standing behind him leaning on his back. The cover has a blue border. Also, inside is an advertisment for the Bananas Yearbook for 1980. That cover also features John. Someday I'll have to fish through my cedar chest that has my old Dukes stuff. I'm not even sure what's in there anymore. It's been so long since I've gone through it. Maybe Luke's yawning because he's so tired..... tired of people pestering him that there's no 01 on the side of his car.
  11. Welcome to Hazzard County Jeff. You sure sound like the type of guy who belongs here. We hope you stay a long time. You're not a basketball fan are you? I'm a huge Minnesota Timberwolves fan and have been since they came into the league in '89. How close are you to International Falls?
  12. Thanks for sharing that. It was awesome! I wish I could have been there. That's the first Hazzard County Sheriff's boat I ever saw! Is it just me or do all those General Lee horns sound slow compared to the show?
  13. I got a little surprise today. A friend of my wife's knows I'm a Dukes fan and was at a garage sale and picked up a Bananas magazine with Bo and Luke on the front. It's in mint condition. The magazine was put out by Scholastic and is from 1980 and the front of it says "Those Daredevil Dukes". Despite the fact that Luke is on the front too, the only story inside is about Bo. It's a two page article with 12 questions for John Schneider. Sometimes it's hard to believe that I'm the same age as John. (He's 7 days older than me). When I was 20 I was very immature for my age (responsible but immature) and he seemed so much older. I was so shocked when I first heard he was the same age. I sure enjoyed the article. It made me feel 20 again. Of course you know the old saying "You're only young once but you can be immature forever."

    Commercials

Normally I would agree but I didn't think there was too many very creative ones the last Super Bowl....Oh well....maybe I'm just getting older and it takes more to impress me.
  15. Welcome to the HazzardNet!
