  1. Great idea Hoss. If you'd do that CornDog you wouldn't be the first to start a thread like that but you'd certainly be the first to do so with a GL that has so much historical significance. (at least since I've been on here). This is very exciting!

  3. Wow! This is tough. I hate to do this Garrett but I'm trying to think like Clint Bowyer would think in that situation but it's too hard to do when we don't have all the facts. Is it morally wrong to spin out intentionally to help a teammate or was he just doing what is acceptable in sports by "taking one for the team?" I would vote for it being morally wrong. But what if he was told to do it by the team owner? What if the owner said he'd rip up his contract if he doesn't spin out? What if Bowyer's house payment was $100,000 a month and he knew he would never get another job racing because the owner would brand him as a person who is not a team player? I'm certainly not throwing this idea out there to justify why he did. It would still be just as despicable even if he was following orders. I'm only trying to understand it. If the order did come from the team owner, would all owners have done that if in that situation? And the same questions would apply to David Gilliland letting the pass happen. What would have happened to him if he wouldn't have followed orders? Just to repeat myself, I'm not trying to justify it. I'm trying to understand.
  4. I think that's a great idea. Since membership is slipping we certainly don't want to discourage potential new members who log in for the first time. Here's a crazy idea Meadowmufn. Deputize Hoss. If he was a moderator he could give our Supreme Superior Commander a little help. He has more computer skills in one of the little hairs on his little finger than I have in my whole body. Which brings me to an important question. How's your health been MM?
  5. Welcome back CornDog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. I think it'd be fun to see the Pirates vs the Cubs in the playoffs simply because I'm competitive with Garrett. LOL The Pirates just beat the Rangers three games in a row. On Tuesday night (in Texas) there were TWO outs in the bottom of the ninth with the Pirates up 5-2. Nobody was on base. It looked over. Before you known it, the Rangers had runners on the corners and the score was 5-4. Adrian Beltre was up for Texas and he's one of the best hitters in baseball, hitting .370 lifetime against the Pirates. First pitch: called strike Second pitch: swing and miss. Third pitch: swing and miss.
  8. Since I don't follow NASCAR like you do Garrett I didn't know abut all this. Well, I knew about the original incident but not the aftermath. What a mess! I have a feeling this story has a long ways to go before it comes to a conclusion. I can certainly see why Jeff Gordon fans would be fired up. I agree about Jeff Gordon being classy. I posted on a different thread about how impressed I was with his after-race interview. Keep up posted!
  9. There's two things to celebrate in early September. The start of NFL games and Luke Duke's birthday.

  11. Heartbreaking indeed. *hugs*

  13. I'm so sorry that Jeff Gordon didn't make The Chase Garrett. I feel so bad for you. Missing it by a single point is hard to believe. I was going crazy while watching it because it looked like he was going to pull it off but it just wasn't to be. For what it's worth I thought he was awesome in his after-race interview.....very gracious....definitely not one of those spoiled brat losers you see a lot of. He's a real class act.
  14. LOL Very nice!
  15. A trillion thanks for all these contributions. These are truly amazing!
  16. That slap even made the mainstream media. Thanks for the update Garrett. So, when you say the 13th place driver gets a million dollars, I assume that's all his to keep, right? (minus taxes). It isn't how much everybody on the team divides up? How do they figure out how much each crew member gets?
  17. April Fools Day (yes it's true, Sadie Hogg Day is always on April 1st. Do they celebrate April Fools Day in Europe?)

    Duck Dynasty

There's been three episodes of Duck Dynasty so far this season and there's already been two Dukes references. Two weeks ago (hmmm, or was it last week?) Willie called himself Boss Hogg. Last night the boys had two toy woodpeckers that they were racing and they named them Bo and Luke. Considering all the Dukes references they've had in the past I'm sure it's no coincidence.....even though whoever is responsible for putting the words on the screen spelled it Beau. By the way, the woodpecker named Luke won the race.
  19. Thanks Garrett. After a record breaking 21 years of losing seasons (the worst in the history of big league US sports) it's nice to see my Pirates doing well. I wish your Cubs would have had as good of a year. It would have been fun to face them in the playoffs. Maybe next year. I just saw that the Pirates pitchers have given up 88 home runs all season, the LEAST in all of baseball!
  20. It's unusual for me to see Dukes advertised for 9:00. I noticed that the autographed black and white photo of Enos said 9:00 on it so it must have been sold in the central part of the US. Thanks for all these great pictures!
  21. It's more complicated than the wild card playoff spots in baseball! GO JG!
  22. muscle (as in muscle car)
  23. Garrett, am I correct in assuming it's way too difficult to figure out what has to happen for Jeff Gordon to make The Chase? Which drivers have to do poorly to help JG make it? If he doesn't finish in the top 5 in the next race does he still have a reasonable chance to get in?

  25. The behind the scenes thread is not only the best thread on the HN it's the best one in the history of the internet.
