  1. What a great question. I don't remember a TV set in the farm either but I'm not sure if there was one or not. The end of "The Great Santa Claus Chase" offers a great living room scene from season 3 and I'm pretty sure there's not one there. There definitely was a radio in the living room...and I don't mean CB radio. Nice job of remembering the hospital TV Hoss. TV wasn't mentioned a whole lot on the show. I remember Cooter mentioning the old TV show about the FBI "They have a good TV show" Other than that and Hoss's reference I can't think of any mention of televisions....except I wouldn't be surprised if Boss hired someone to steal a truckload at some point in the series. I think there were televisions in the truckload of stuff the Dukes recovered that Boss was stealing from the senior citizens center. Hmm, was that "Return of the Ridge Raiders"?
  2. Being in first place is tough in a league like ours. Holding your first place spot is much tougher than tough. Oh well, I can't think of anybody else that I'd rather see in first than you Garrett. Woops, yes I can.....me!
  3. May is the birthday month of my hero. I always celebrate Uncle Jesse's BD on May 11th. He is...and always will be...a big part of my life.
  4. Ohio (Cleveland is the location of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame) You're right Hoss, I don't really like any music except Country from the Dukes era. Although I have to admit I was madly in love with Sade before I met my wife.
  5. I appreciate you updating the standings Garret but could you please put Dale at #1 and Jeff at #2 the next time you do it.
  6. song (I don't drink so I don't know what brandy's made of but I know there's a singer named Brandy. I don't think she uses a last name)
  7. There's good news, bad news and good news in the baseball world. The good news is that the Pirates are in first place. The bad news is that I'm struggling in my fantasy baseball league. The good news is that a certain Cubs fan (namely Garrett Duke) is in first place in our division in our fantasy league. This is an impressive accomplishment considering the league is comprised mostly of folks who make their living in the sports world, including knowledgable sports reporters. Congratulations Garrett!
  8. It's always tough for me to see the country and western singers that I grew up listening to pass on. He sang the saddest song in history (He Stopped Loving Her Today) and now the world just got even sadder. Thanks for this nice tribute Garrett.
  9. Thanks for the update Garrett. I picked Kevin Harvick to win so this is my first victory in fantasy NASCAR. I guess you'd call it a hysterical day.....Um, I mean historical day. It's too bad my other drivers didn't do so good. I didn't even move up in the rankings on Garrett's fantasy league even though I picked the winner. I did have a lot of fun Friday night at the local dirt track though!
  10. I agree completely with the last two posts. There should be punishment but this sounds excessive. I just hope that the Commissioner of my fantasy NASCAR league (a certain Jeff Gordon fan) doesn't fine me for being the worst fantasy NASCAR player on yahoo....and if she does, a hockey fantasy Commissioner who I know personally (a certain Jesse Duke fan) will fine her for having too many Chicago Blackhawks players on her team.
  11. little (as in "The Little Rascals")
  12. Wow! I didn't know about the Matt Kenseth problem. I'm not a Kenseth fan so it didn't upset me too much but it is shocking. I wonder how the crew chief fine works. Does that 200,000 really come out of his pocket or is it more involved than that? If NASCAR determines that lower level mechanics messed up can they be fined too? I would think that would be really complicated. Everybody would want to point fingers at everybody else but they can't because they have to show team unity. There's usually someone in these cases who "takes one for the team". I agree Garrett. I love night races! Thanks for the updates.
  13. Congratulations to Matt Kenseth for his victory. After a bunch of cautions it was nice to see the last 48 laps be caution flag free.
  14. I'm surprised you're even paying attention to NASCAR Garrett. It looks like you're going to be battling for a first place trophy in fantasy hockey starting tomorrow so I thought you'd be working all day researching players and stats to see what kind of trades you'll be making. LOL just kidding (well, I'm not kidding about you making it to the hockey championship....but I am joking about you liking hockey more than NASCAR) Good luck in both.
  15. K-Duke, I wouldn't mind if you did describe my Pirates as "bad". LOL They've had a losing record for 20 straight years, the longest, not just in baseball, but in all of the big league American sports. They've certainly earned the description "bad". I've followed them since the late 60s and will be a fan as long as I'm alive but I'm also realistic. It's fun that you, Garrett and I have favorite teams that are in the same division. It will give us a lot to talk about here on the bb thread.
  16. You're right Garrett. The season is young. I'd be shocked if the Reds don't have a great year. Right now they're having some injury problems but it's better to have those early in the season than late.
  17. If you double check you'll find that it wasn't the position of "County Commissioner" that Boss lost. It was a different title. I can't remember exactly what it was called but since it's never mentioned again in the series we can assume Boss either got it back or abolished it and just took over the duties that the position entailed.
  18. You're absolutely right Garrett. Hopefully what they'll learn from this guy will help prevent future tragedies. If lives are saved from it, it will be worth the financial cost. Paying for his incarceration is one thing but I hope he pleads guilty because if there's dozens of appeals over the decades, the security costs alone will be astronomical. And I should remind myself, he is innocent until proven guilty.
  19. It's going to be interesting to see how well Clint does. There's always a lot of pressure when you're trying to please the home crowd. I was looking forward to going to the dirt track and watch the local NASCAR wannabees tonight but it rained too much earlier in the day and it was canceled due to track conditions.
  20. What I don't understand is why the 19 year old who was just arrested is entitled to 80+ years of better food and health care than people get who have never even had a speeding ticket. (and can't afford to pay speeding tickets anyways because their taxes keep going up to support guys like him) Oh well, I'd better be careful. The moderators don't like political talk here. Now, that's a policy I DO understand.
