  1. Started by Meadowmufn,

Howdy, folks. We've got a new forum for off-topic discussions in case any of you are inclined to want to discuss something other than the Dukes of Hazzard.

  2. Started by RogerDuke,

I have another one of my crazy ideas and I'd thought I'd get some input from my fellow Hazzardites. I've never seen the show "The Biggest Loser" but since I've always been interested in human nature, I can understand the appeal to the people who participate in it. You seem to get much more motivated about something if there's some friendly pressure on you to succeed. I was wondering if anybody would like to join me in a friendly contest to see who can keep a New Year's resolution. There's really nothing to win except pride and a chance to better yourself. Of course, your resolution doesn't have to be about losing weight, it could be about anything. And, it could even be …

Anybody watching the NFL playoffs? I can't believe my Seahawks beat the defending Super Bowl champs, the Saints.

  4. Started by RogerDuke,

I really do hate computers. I only started using them because I was told I could find Dukes related stuff on the internet. After using the HazzardNet for a few years I started branching off to other things but now I'm going in the other direction and am down to three things. Now all I use this contraption for is HazzardNet, e-mail and fantasy sports. I'm slowly phasing my way out of fantasy sports for various reasons and it looks like I'll end up being where I was when I first started, just HazzardNet. I seem to be a lot happier when I'm on this thing less. One of the reasons is all the problems I have with it. They're constant. Thankfully my son-in-law is a computer engi…

Hey y'all... Just curious, what are is your opinion on Coy and Vance? Please, do not get all upset... I am just curious. One of my relatives ( a fellow Dukes fan) gets all upset when one even mentiones the name Coy or Vance. What is your opinion? General Grant

I wouldn't usually get a message like this on a public forum, but my methods of communications to the group I would like to get in contact with is rather limited. But I'll keep this short. Several weeks ago, I made a right ass out of myself to several friends on this forum, friends I'm been with for years, friends who have been with me through my lowest and best days, friends whose presence I felt even when not online. But in the heat of the moment argument, I lost those friendships, probably forever. I am willing to live with my decision because I do not think I would be taken back now. But I do miss them. I just wanted you to know, my friends, if you are reading thi…

We Need a Book Thread for people to discuss what they are reading or what books they like to collect as well. Personally me I like Hannah Howell, Lynsay Sands, Barbara Taylor Bradford, Debbie Macomber and James A. Michener and apparently James Bond Novels as well.

  13. Started by DaisyMaeDuke,

Ok I doubt very much that this would be found in Hazzard County Georgia, but right now, as I write we here in Michigan are in the 15th hour of a snowstorm, averaging about an inch an hour of snowfall. To put it another way, my own "velvet ears" who is a cocker spaniel, gets buried when she steps off the deck and it's up past my knees. Wonder how the General does i snow?!

This is the thread where everybody posts how fun it is to be a Steelers fan and Garrett posts how depressing it is to be a Bears fan. How many fantasy teams are you in Garrett and how are they doing? I'll finish second in one and am in the playoff hunt in the other. Sunday is a big day for us fantasy players. Good luck Garrett!

  15. Started by Meadowmufn,

My new favorite thing is watching people from all over the world getting to experience the US for the first time while they're here for the World Cup. I especially love seeing the Tartan Army (seeing as I'm about half Scottish) and the folks experiencing the South (authentic BBQ anyone?). Boston has a large population with Scots-Irish ancestry, as does the South, so it's not surprising they're feeling like kindred spirits.

Is it only popular because it borrows from Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" & Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama", theme is similar to Bob Seger's "Night Moves"?

There have been several broken records across the country due to a heat wave, not to mention severe weather has accompanied it, with more due to occur tonight... It was just a few years ago Europe went through a heat wave like what we are currently experiencing on the Eastern Seaboard. While I have been suffering due to the heat, because I don't have air conditioning (I've been trying to visit my mother at every chance I get for the AC), there is an interesting tidbit that occurred during this heat wave that has put a smile on my face because it was funny... You know it's hot when a plane gets delayed at the airport... Why you might ask did the plane get delayed? Because…

Here's my score prediction: Seattle Seahawks-17 New England Patriots-7 Yes, I'm going out on a limb and calling for a low score. When the Seattle defense finally starting to get their act together two months ago I said they'd win it all again.
