1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls. 2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. Like fine single-malt scotch, it's rare. In fact, it's even rarer than single-malt scotch. You can't find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-aholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas! 3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's th…

Wishing everyone here and their families at HazzardNet a very Merry Christmas. I hope Santa brings lots of goodies to everyone. We got through another year and the Holidays are upon us. It is a time to reflect that we are fortunate enough to spend it with family and friends. Some of us aren't that lucky but they are in our prayers and thoughts. I hope everyone here has a good time and wish you nothing but happiness. Merry Chrstmas Ya'll Darrell

We have Christmas threads for a lot of Christmases so I was a bit bothered that 2023 would go by without one in this section with the others . So, here I am singing Christmas carols all by myself. Can anybody hear me? Edit: I just noticed the other current Christmas thread is in the HazzardNet Family section.

Figured this was a good place to plunk down some holiday humor. Here's a little ditty I found on the web for ya. 'Twas the Night before Christmas, and all through the shack Not a creature was stirrin', cept the lice on muh back. The skoal cans wuz nailed to the screen door with care, With hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there. The children were sleepin', all snug in their beds, While visions of tractor pulls danced in their heads. And Ma in her nightgown all stained with pound cake. Had just settled down to watch Ricki Lake. When out in the driveway, a loud noise I heard, I opened the winder to check muh T-bird. I ran to the door, like I's on a mission, But I tr…

What do you usually give out for Chrsitmas? For Christmas I give out; Ten cans of Skoal and some Red man in my dad and grandpa's stockings, and twenty scratchers to everyone else in their stockings. They all love it especially when they win Money, so I just give them the same things every, and if I'm not there I just sent it to them, they always know what they're getting.

You can't have Christmas without cookies! My family comes from a line of bakers, so we bake starting weekend after Thanksgiving and by Christmas we have dozen of dozens of cookies in the house. Last year we had frozen cookies that lasted until March. Pendragon

Sorry about not having any festivities this year. I've been sick and very busy at work. Because I'm a contractor, I really don't have any sick leave available, so I've had to work through my illnesses (3 colds this year and a sinus infection), so they've been lingering. I am taking a few days off around Christmas, though, to recuperate. I want to wish a very Merry Christmas to all of you on HazzardNet. I hope 2014 is prosperous, happy, and healthy for all of you.

I have loved this song since I was a little kid and will always be my all-timew favorite . Even enemies have the respect to celebrate Christmas - Merry Christmas My Friend 2. The Angels Cried - Alan Jackson & Alison Krauss - Such a beautiful song and especially Alison's Angelic singing... 3. It has become a true Chritsmas Classic. You'll Shoot Your Eye Out Kid...... 3. Miracle On 34th St. - The original is still the best. And Yes I still believe in Santa.. Okay, it's a little early for this and I'll bring it up again but I had an idea and wanted to get some initial reaction to it. Even if only one other person wants to do this, I'd like to. I thought we should all try to watch "The Great Santa Claus Chase" (season 3) at the exact same time when it gets close to Christmas. I think it would be a nice way for the Hazzardnet family to get together for a Christmas party. The next few days after that, we could all send posts giving our thoughts on that episode. Of course, we'd have to agree on a time (or even schedule two times). We'd have to consider our family members in Europe and try not to schedule it too late at night for t…

Hey all you creative Hazzardites! I was thinking maybe we can do something a little fun for this year. The idea goes along the line of pulling a secret santa and doing either (fics, pics(for those handy like that) as requested by other) or maybe themed cards or gifts. Whats your thoughts? Are ya game?

We are going to have a Christmas Party, even if it is just on this thread writing posts like it is a group text. Two questions: Hoss, what is the latest (in eastern standard time) that you could participate? To the rest of you: What days would you not be available in the early evening? I was thinking Friday Dec 16 might be nice since Dukes used to be on Fridays.

YEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAW! I was shopping in my friendly neighborhood Kmart Super Center and what did I see but a banjo pickin' Christmas CD! So with delight, I snatched it off the counter and took it to the checkout to purchase it right. So now as I sit typing away, I listen to christmas tunes of banjos so gay! It fills my soul with Christmas cheer to have Christmas tunes played by banjos in my ears. Banjos, here banjos there, banjo, banjo... Banjos in mah head! Christmas Banjos in mah head! Yeehaw!

Ever wonder why evergreens are used in traditional Christmas decorating? Well it has to do with the Greeks and Romans. They threw a party every year around the winter Solicist time to try to bring back spring and make the 'gods and goddesses' happy again. It worked every year because of course, after winter comes spring. Greeks and Romans didn't know about the earth's rotation and changing of the seasons. So anyhow... why talk about this? Well, it's Christmas, and apart of the season of Christmas is to reflect on the year, think about your family and friends, give thanks for all of those you hold dear in your life, and celebrate the coming of Jesus the Christ child and ho…

What's on your Christmas list for Dukes of Hazzard stuff this year? I'm thinkin' optimistic, with the show back on CMT, that we're gonna see new stuff from Johnny LIghtning / ERTL, and some more model kits. I mean, you can't have too many General Lee toys, can you? Of course not. Since ya nevah know when Santa is listening, I'll list the thing I'm after. A couple years ago there was a new Dukes slot racing set and I missed out on it. I gotta find one of those. I also never got the Dukes video games - can you even believe it? I don't have a PS2 or whatever, but it's killin 'me that I don't have those games. And if we know what people are looking for, we …

It's time to be thinking about an evening for the 2012 Christmas party. Before we suggest dates is there any evening that you can't make it? I can't make it the 17th, 18th and 19th. That's a Mon, Tue and Wed. (For those of you who are new, our parties are in HazzardNet's chat room.....and don't say you weren't warned. They can get a little rough)
