DukesFest & Other Events

Just to let you guys know I entered the dukes trivia sponsored by dodge at dukesfest 08 and I won beat out 3 other people I won a t-shirt with a new charger on it, just thought that i would share the news

OK so I made it down from NJ to VA with my buddy John, My son Aaron & myself as well as my General Lee!!!!!!!!!!!! Yee-Haw what a blast. Just a few words and AS ALWAYS WITH ME PIX!!! to let you know what fun we had! I gave my buddy John a complete 69 Charger door painted & stickered up as a surprise gift for his helping me with putting my General Lee back together. He brought it to Hazzard Homecoming to get it signed and if you buy/bought the DVD of the event (as we did) you will see it was a great idea to bring the door because.............. He was interviewed and mentions the story about how he got it and also My son & I are shown sitting on the ground behin…

Has anyone that's ever been to Dukefest ever taken a model car to be autographed? I'm wanting to get the cast to sign my General Lee then buy a display case to keep it in that would be so awesome I think. I read on Cooter's that you could get two things signed for free and if I'm reading it correctly there's items to buy and get autographed at their tables but you don't have to purchase something but you can bring something to be signed? B.L.

I don't about the rest of you but the closer it gets to Dukefest the more excited I get. It's hard to believe that next weekend. I'll be at Dukes fest. I can't wait. This will be the first time for me. I can't wait to go.

Maybe someone can post some information about the Hazzard Homecoming. I believe it starts in Georgia in a few days.

50 amp RV slot for 2006 Duke Fest at the Tennesse State Fairgrounds in Nashville, June 2, 3 & 4. Paid $120, will sell for $100. Also available are two adult tickets for both days. Our family really wanted to attend but my husband has changed jobs and is no longer able to go. Email if interested.

I have started a petition to save John from being replaced as the voice of home depot. If anyone here is going to Dukefest, I am not, cant afford a trip there, please contact me if you would like to help. I posted the info about this in John's section on here. If you don't have tickets to Hazzard Homecoming yet...so what. You can buy them at the event, which is good news for last-minute planning! The event location is slightly different than the original Sperryville location of DukesFest, but not by much. Instead of being on Hwy 211, it's on Route 522. What's that mean locally? Well, if you're on 211, turn into the town of Sperryville itself to get on Route 522, and then keep going a little ways. The closest towns likely to have hotel rooms are Front Royal, Luray, and Culpeper. Luray was pretty much booked up last I checked. Front Royal had places open but they were higher $. I JUST GOT AN E-MAIL from Sonnny's agent and he told me due to family commitmemnts, SONNY will not be doing any guest appearances in the month of JUNE. So he will not be at DUKE FEST. I am still waiting to see if I hear from Don Pedro Cooley's agent to see if he will be there. DUKE OUT

Did anybody that went to Dukesfest get any video footage of Stella Parton performing? The reason I ask is because I got to sing with her on one of the songs, and I was out there watching her for most of her performance. I wanted to relive the experience through video, and I would really appriciate it if anybody that got anything of Stella's performance could send it to me. You die...lmao Anyways....I was sooo glad that hotel had a pool...Thanks Brian for recommending it...it was a nice little place to stay, it actually looked like my grandma's house inside!! And there was this great little restaurant called the Brookside Restaurant....The rest of the time we had to eat dollar menu from Mickey D's cause Hazzard Homecoming ate all our money!! John has announced that his movie "Collier & Co. - Hot Pursuit!" is going to be screened in Nashville, TN, on May 30 and May 31....right before the beginning of DukesFest! The screenings are at 7:00pm and John will arrive at the theater around 6:00 pm for a meet and greet with his fans. A special edition DVD will be available at the screenings and at DukesFest. If you buy a DVD and attend DukesFest, you will be able to be in a crowd scene in the sequel, "Collier & Co. 2 - High Octane!" Hey ya'll ! Just got back from Nashville today, and thought I'd start a topic for DukesFest feedback. What did you enjoy the most? What didn't work out? It's hard for me to be objective, as I was one of a score of volunteers helping out over the weekend. I saw some dreams come true for a lot of happy people. I also met a number of folks who were disappointed, because they traveled a great distance to see John / Tom and didn't get a chance to get anywhere near them. (When 75,000 people are looking for autographs from six cast members, you know the numbers ain't gonna dice out. ) On the plus side, this was the best DukesFest of the entire run. I'm too exhausted to…

I think it would be a cool idea since the show is back and so many more people are getting in to it to have like a small tour or something so that people from other states who cannott go or cannott afford the trip can still get a chance. Might be a cool idea?

If anyone has any pictures from the 2006 DukesFest that shows any of the orange wreckers / tow trucks (painted like the General Lee), please e-mail them to me at generaltowing@comcast.net I own the wreckers, and there was a malfunction with our digital camera, and we lost all of our pictures. HEY its me again----I was an extra in teh DOH movie-and i kept all of yall updated well here s an update for ya! ! ! ! Hadnt had a chance to post -been very busy. Got a call last week from someone thats involved in the filming of the movie. She told me they need me to go back to Clinton, LA tomorrow (6/2/05) because something about they forgot the openin scene that tells about the town of Hazzard or some sort. So she had gotten a call from LA last week tellin her to round some of the extras up for shooting-ALL of the main actors got called in also--she said it s really crazy, bein that the movie will be out AUGUST 5th! ! ! !.
