Dukes of Hazzard Movies

I'm new to this so please be gentle with me!! Preview screenings of the new Dukes movie opened today in the UK, (officially opening on Friday 25 Aug). Growing up watching the original series I had mixed feelings about the film. Being a lifelong fan it is great to see the Dukes on the big screen at long last. Although disappointed that none of the original cast were involved. When I arrived at the 10 screen cinema I was the only person in the auditorium! By the time the adverts and trailers had been shown there was a grand total of 10 people, not a good start!!! I felt that the film had a slow start and didn't seem to be going anywhere. I saw this movie today in the UK and there is no talk of any drugs in this movie. I know 12 seconds got cut from the uk version and I also know that Jay said that when the DVD comes out they will have 1 DVD that is the same as the one you see in the cinema and another one that will be an adult one which will be a bit different to the other one. I am not sure what Ben Jones and any other Dukes fan is moaning about. If I had young kids I would take them to this movie. I see nothing to adult about this movie.

Saw the movie for the first time today as today is the first day it came out in the cinema in the UK. I thought it was great. One of the best movies I have seen in long time. It is also one of the better re-makes Hollywood has done. I thought all the cast and crew and Warner Brothers did a great job on this movie. I really enjoyed this movie and so did my Dad who came and saw it with me. I really liked what they did with Boss,Enos, Rossco and Jessie. I know this is nit-picky, but couldn't the editors have done something about the way Bo climbs out of the General? It looks very bad. It shows that Sean William Scott never got it down pat. Almost every time he's got one foot on the ground and the other still stuck inside. And I read an interview about him and Johny Knoxville....Sean says it was hard getting out of those windows. But if anyone on the movie set had bothered to refer to the old tv series (so that they might actually have a CLUE as to how the Dukes of Hazzard should be), they would notice that John Schnieder: 1. Alright ya'll, I have been debating on whether or not to say anything at all on this site about the movie. I have been reading and watching patiently with the rest of you to see the new movie, and quite frankly I was disappointed with quite a few Dukes fans...and, I'm sorry to say it, Ben Jones. Not to say there werent a few things i would have changed....act one, scene one, Sheeve blows himself up...end of character. I know it may be a little early to mention this topic (let alone start a thread about it) but lets get at er' on this one. what do WE the duke fans and the rest of the consumers deserve to get with this DVD? I say ALL of the stunts and then some. damn, a Seperate disc all about the General! then of course I gotta remember that there was a cast too! I was an extra during the filming out at the raceway in Erwinville for the beginning and finish of the rally race. I had a great time during the filming and even more so when I saw myself in the movie on the big screen. I want to thank the casting and production people on behalf of all the extras from here in Louisiana for the opportunity to participate in such a fun movie.

I read in a review of the movie that it's a movie version of "Farewell, Hazzerd".

Something I noticed in the new movie reminded me of something that I've heard Dukes creator Gy Waldron mention in an interview before. I have heard Waldron state that had the series continued past '85, there was a possibilty that they were going to have the Dukes talk to the General Lee and possibly have someone do a voice-over for the General Lee. Not only would fans just be able to see this car that in many ways was as much of a cast member as any of the actors, but they would be able to hear the car's perspective. When you think about it, the idea of actually being able to hear the General Lee's perspective is really no more ridiculous than anything we saw in the ep…

I havent seen the movie yet, but heard a while back about the scene that touches on the Confederate Battle Flag on the General's roof. Could someone please explain this scene to me...what is said and what exactly happens. This scene is one of the reasons I havent seen the movie yet. If it degrades the flag in any way I probably wont go to see it. Thanks.

I was watchin tv the other nite and I saw Leno kinda knocking the dukes I was kinda surprised to see him of all people knock this movie. He himself claims to be a big car guy so I kinda figured and car person would love the movie. thats just my opion seeing as tho this is the best car movie since smokey and the bandit....at least imo....seeing as tho all the new movies use all the CGI crap.

Hey guys i'm new here. I was casted as an extra in the movie and got to watch a lot of the filming in Baton Rouge and Clinton. I had a possible idea for a sequel to the "Dukes" movie called "Dukes Of Hazzard:Full Throttle",in this one maybe there will be Coy & Vance. Who do you think can play the parts of Coy & Vance in a possible sequel.

The music made this film even more fun to watch .. It was like the perfect songs at the perfect time.... 1. Mississippi Queen - Mountain - gave me goosebumps when the General was first born and it's lights came . Then in slow motion with Mississippi Queen famous guitar riff.....Awesome 2. How many of you belive Ben Jones saw the movie? Considering schnieder approved( mabe he told him about it) and the feed back from fans was good I think he should give it a chance. Besides I havent heard ONE person post somthing along the lines of " gee since Ben Jones says the movie is bad im not going to see it" not one. Just because fans might not agree with every thing thats in the movie dosn't mean where not going to go see it.
