The General Lee

Discuss the General Lee

  1. Started by RogerDuke,

I just noticed on the General Lee's odometer in Carnival of Thrills (part 2) it said 32047 miles. Coincidently the General's license plate starts with 320 and they were practicing for a 32 car jump. Anyhow, has anybody else ever noticed any other odometer readings in any other episodes? 32,000 isn't many miles for a car that was 11 years old at that time...unless the odometer had turned over. Since we don't know alot about the General before the episode "Happy Birthday General Lee" I wonder if anybody would care to speculate if it's 32,000 or 132,000. I'm gone.

  2. People with no respect for this movie need to get the hell out of this website i mean people come in here and start s*** with people that know every thing about ths shows and they really think they know it all but really they dont! i have watched this show since i was like 5 and i have always loved bo duke! i love this show and people who hate it need to just do us all a favor and they need to just stay off this site and leave us duke fans alone!

Anyone know of a General Lee in great condition for sale? Looking to spend approx $35k....thanks for your help

  4. Started by Roth Potter,

I guess this goes here. You probably know this guy, but if you don't. Tom Sarmento is one of the guys who prepared General Lee's for the show and is full of great stories about it. Hoss has a great video of him, I cant find it at the moment... But anyway. He met up with two big Duke fans from my country twice now and they have recorded some footage of him driving in their almost perfect replica General Lee which I thought was worth sharing.

  5. ive have been looking for years and the one i did find was so bad and the guy wouldnt part with it please help

Has anyone seen the "Waxing the General Lee" video??? I found a link to it at www.dukesofhazzardmovie.com The ad implies that the video may contain some fast driving/ stunts with a "G.L." but, looking at the cover, I am wondering if this is just a nudie video in a "Dukes" package???? Can anyone tell me what exactly is in this video- is it worth the purchase??? Thanks.

Years ago there was a website that gave all the particulars about building a GL, including the proper placement of the decals. That site is no more, and I've lost the instructions with my decal kit. Is there a source for measurements and the like? Thanks.

My wife plays roller derby and the team is putting together a calendar. She has a name similar to Daisy and number is 01. We love the south and would like to get a few pictures with her all dolled up next to a general lee. The owner of the car would get free tickets to a roller derby bout and a copy of the calendar. We live close to Tacoma, WA. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Fully autographed by the surviving cast and has the plate saying it was built just for him. Any fans out there want to mortgage everything they've got for this car?

First, man what a cool site! Whats up Tim Duke? You and raymond met at my house before the first trip to Covington! Everyone around here still talks about all of the General lees and squad cars around Caldwell. Well its kind of a sad day as i've just listed my general on ebay. Oh well Check it out and tell me what you think , Cecil 4592488881

Hey yall. I went to Gatlinburg, TN to see Cooters Dukes Of Hazzard museum. IT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME!!! I got to sit in a ORIGINAL General Lee for only $5. I also saw Rosco's Patrol Car and Cooter's Tow Truck. I highly recommend everyone here on Hazzardnet to visit. If anyone here has been there what are your oppinions?

Last Night i was watching tv land. It had a show about the top 10 tv cars. The General Lee came 2nd followed by Kitt who was 3rd. The number 1 car was the batmoble. Can you believe a bat beat out the general lee. Something was wrong with that. Jessi Duke 8)

  17. There is a great article in the June issue of Mopar Collectors Guide starting on page 44. It details the restoration of Lee 1 with story and pictures.

About 18 months ago, Byron Cherry tried to sell his personally owned General Lee on Ebay for $150,000 (see the HNet homepage article here). The car obviously didn't sell, because it reappeared on Ebay a few months later with a "Buy it now" price of $99,000. When it didn't sell again, there was an announcement that he was donating the car to the Tim Welborne Muscle Car Museum in Alabama. You can see that thread here (along with a link to a video of Byron and his daughter with the car). Now, Byron seems to be selling the car on Ebay again (thanks to Mufn for posting the link on the HNet FB page). This time the auction doesn't include all the memorabilia in the trunk. The bi…

Hi, I've probably not been on here for over 2 years. As far as I know there's only 1 genuine studio car on our 'side of the Pond' It's owned by a chap called Peter Nelson who has a museum in Keswick (pronounced 'Kesik'), which is in Cumbria (referred to by us Brits as 'The Lake District') I've seen that car, & it's reputed to be one of the 'chase scene' cars, with the 440ci motor http://www.carsofthestars.com/ If you look at the 'Vehicle Index', he's got some wonderful motors; - the original 'Mad Max' Police Interceptor - Batmobiles (Adam West, Micheal Keaton, & Val Kilmer) - Flintstones - LOTS of 007/james Bond vehicles (including the DB5) - Herman Munsters …
