I heard that Tom suffered a black eye in the first reunion movie they tried to cover it up by putting make-up on but if look close at the last scene when him and john are standing in front of the bus you can see it . And they also tried to hide it by making him stand sideways in that scene when Rosco is confessing his crime to mama jo ". I also heard from john himself that Tom is accident prone he has fallen down in his own bathtub at his apartment.

If it had been traditional, there probably would have been an overused laugh track and the show would have tried to be preachy and topical with "very special episodes"

This will be a tough thread that will test us pretty good. Ask if something in particular was ever on (even just once) in the 7 years of the ORIGINAL SHOW. You don't even have to know the answer. Was there ever a cat on the show? I can't think of one.

I had a dream last night... I went to Dukes Fest, and did lots of Dukes stuff. Then, I grabbed a hotdog or something and sat down. Ben Jones himself came up to me and said "Mind if I sit here?" so I agreed, and I got his autograph!

I couldnt find this topic when I did a search, but if this has been brought up before...sorry. I thought about this the other night. I mean a lot of hardcore old fans aren't thrilled with the people playing Boss, Bo, Luke, Daisy etc. However, what if this movie is a huge hit with the younger generation? What if those 15-20 somethings can't get enough of it. Would that popularity force WB make a new TV series? It wouldn't be the first time people have tried to cash in from the success of a movie. Thoughts?

Hey y'all! I don't know how I've managed to keep this quiet for the week, but last weekend I went to a local car show. I saw a movie style General Lee and began talking to the man standing next to the car. It took me a minute to realise that I was talking to none other than Tom Sarmento. Yes that's Tom Sarmento as in the lead mechanic for the Dukes of Hazzard. We spent over an hour talking about stories and myths surrounding the cars and methodology the builders used back then. Does anybody have feedback on the various DVD sets for the series that are available? I see a set from 2020 that is in Wal Mart and Amazon that looks like this: [ And another that looks like this: Is anybody familiar with both sets and have any feedback about the difference? I've heard that one of them may be in 16:9 instead of 4:3. I'd prefer the original 4:3. I have the Season 1 DVD, but it won't play in my blue ray player, 9nly on my PC, so I want to get a new complete set, but I want to avoid the 16:9 ratio.

I noticed that "The Dukes of Hazzard" had a Smurfette problem. That is the show only had one female main character, as opposed to recurring characters. That meant that the show placed the female characteristics onto one person. My idea would have been, in addition to two male cousins, two female cousins. That would have even out the character traits. What do you think?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it was late sixties or early seventies that it was made mandatory for vehicles to have insurance. That said, the enormous question is; what kind of life would the insurance agency for Hazzard have (as in reactions)? I would have been quite interested in seeing an episode of The Dukes of Hazzard in some sort of depiction on an insurance agency and how the agents handled it. If I recall the quotes of one Rosco Coltrane correctly; "Guess they're gonna cancel my insurance now..." Surely the backbone to my thesis stands. Especially if Rosco was running through patrol cars like water on rye.

Howdy Y'all, Does anyone know where the Dukes of Hazzard was shot? Where the Boars Nest was? Where the chases always seemed to happen? I just watched the TV series "V" and I swear some of the chase scenes were in the same as the Duke chases. Thanks Rich

What is everyone's feelings on the episodes, of which there were quite a few, where a cast member would either play an identical twin of a character, or the character would have an "alter ego" change of personality? Did you like them, or did you feel they were too silly an stretched the credibility of the series; and what was the best and worst of such episodes? About a year ago I made a definitive list of all such episodes, but I though I'll let other members try to name the episodes before I give the list.
