Tell us about your experience at DukesFest and other fan events! Have you been in years past? Was '05 your first trip? Did you make the "Hazzard Run"? Tell us all about it!

  1. Started by RogerDuke,

I just got home from an amazing experience near Youngstown Ohio. It was a Dukes of Hazzard stunt show that was absolutely unbelievable. Words can't describe how amazing it was but I'll try anyways when I write up a lengthy review of it tomorrow. Once again, thanks to Daney Duke for posting the information regarding this show on the northern DukesFest thread. Without her, I never would have known about it.

  2. Started by TimDuke,

That's right folks in case you haven't checked the Dukesfest site lately. The one and only Adam West from the TV series Batman will be there.

Just curious... What cast members will be at Duke Fest this year? I know Ben Jones and James Best will be there, but who else? There's something on this board that says Sonny won't be there. Any other info on who will be there?

This topic came up on the CGLFC whether any of the actors from either of the newer Dukes movies be invited or even allowed or considered to be at Dukesfest now with it being under Johns control. The general consensus over there is no they should not be invited and I whole heartedly agree that they should not be there. In fact I probably would boycott if I found out any were going to be there.Dukesfest should only be for people involved with the TV series period.

Hello everyone, just thought I'd post an interesting thing I found on Cootersplace.com. I ordered the Dukesfest 05 DVD because I was there this year and I was checking to see why it hadn't shipped and this is what I found today. A Message from the Producers: Hello Dukes Fans, I hope your summer has been as fun and as exciting as this year's Dukesfest. This is to give you an update on the status of the DVD. As you are aware, we had hoped to have the DVD out by the end of August, but we were fortunate enough to get an interview with Ben Jones (Cooter) and Sonny Shroyer (Enos), plus other bonus footage that we hadn't originally counted on, which has delayed the ship date o…

  10. I've just posted about Bo's Extravaganza in the NASCAR thread, but Roger asked me to start a new topic here. I can't take the credit for discovering this event - that was down to Garrett. John Schneider is hosting Bo’s Extravaganza on April 7th & 8th 2018, his birthday weekend, down in Holden, Louisiana. The current prices on the ticketing site are: Bo's Extravaganza Single Day General Admission Tickets $49.56 Bo's Extravaganza 2 Day General Admission Ticket $44.28 – $81.24 Bo's Extravaganza VIP $423.30 – $740.02 I'll let John tell you what you can expect: Sadly, I won't be able to make it, but I'm sure we'd all love to hear …

  11. Starting a thread for Dukesfest 2008 to share news and stuff. Me first: Byron Cherry posted on a Yahoo group that John was filming near his home and invited him over to hang out. They hugged for the first time in 25 years and had a blast and thus it is official Byron a.k.a. Coy Duke will be at Dukesfest 2008. He goes on to say that if anyone has any Duke related questions you can e-mail him and he'll be more than happy to answer.

Hey ya'll ! Just got back from Nashville today, and thought I'd start a topic for DukesFest feedback. What did you enjoy the most? What didn't work out? It's hard for me to be objective, as I was one of a score of volunteers helping out over the weekend. I saw some dreams come true for a lot of happy people. I also met a number of folks who were disappointed, because they traveled a great distance to see John / Tom and didn't get a chance to get anywhere near them. (When 75,000 people are looking for autographs from six cast members, you know the numbers ain't gonna dice out. ) On the plus side, this was the best DukesFest of the entire run. I'm too exhausted to…

All I can say is...holy cow, what a crowd! Huge turnout. CMT has been filming and interviewing all over the place. As far as the biggest draw, it's hard to say whether the autograph opportunites with John and Cathy were the prime interest - or, if the "Ride in a General Lee" opportunity is what brought 'em in. The "Ride in a General Lee" attraction had lines that ran between 4 and 5 hours long. And this was with a fleet of General Lees running on the track. But the once-in-a-lifetime chance seemed worth the wait to those I spoke to. There's no doubt that "Bo Duke" hasn't lost a thing in charisma. The tickets for autographs went pretty quick - I'd say wit…

  15. Started by RogerDuke,

Please don't hate me. The Dukes are way down there in Dixie and I'm up north in Pennsylvania. I hope I don't get anybody mad with this suggestion. Has anybody thought of more than one Dukes Fest? I'm not proposing that us northern Dukes should have something as big as the real Dukes Fest. I'm not suggesting they be in competition or anything like that. I'm just wondering if a bunch of good 'ole boys (and girls) who live a long way from Dixie could get together someplace in this neck of the woods. In my heart, I've lived in Hazzard County since episode number one. It sure would be nice to meet other good folks who live there too without having to drive so far. Possum on a …

  16. Ben's already announced he's gonna do it again. Yes, Virginia, there IS a 2012 Hazzard Homecoming, August 11 & 12. Same location as last year in Sperryville VA. This will be the biggest annual Dukes of Hazzard fan gathering of the year. (formerly known as "DukesFest".) This is the fastest we've seen him announce the next year's event, so he must have somethin' cookin'! No other details are yet public. As soon as they are, we'll post more. Any of ya'll coming from a distance might wanna read through our 2011 forum threads about Hazzard Homecoming, in reference to hotels and such. Sperryville is a scenic area, but the town itself is tiny. You'll have to stay at anoth…

  23. Started by RogerDuke,

Competition is one thing that has made this country great. In fact, it makes us all better when we have a little friendly competition in our lives. Some folks take their competition seriousely and some folks just like to compete for fun. There was a Waylon quote on the episode "Mrs. Daisy Hogg" that went like this: "If any of y'all ever drive through Hazzard, well ya might remember that if it's got wheels, folks tend to want to race it." That's Hazzard folks for you...competitive to their core. You don't need any more proof than to just look at how Bo and Luke interacted with each other. I bet that before Luke went in the Marines, little Bo couldn't beat him at anything…

I am a die hard fan of the dukes of hazzard as much as anyone, but I envy the states, because I can never make it that far to go to at least one Duke fest once in my life. I never hear of one in the maritimes , or in Canada for that fact. I would so love if they could have at least one show in New Brunswick you know!!! I would die if I could go to at least one Duke fest, just one, before all the original actors pass on...... There is plenty of places just in Moncton alone, not to mention the old race track in Miramichi New Brunswick, hell if anywheres in New Brunswick would be great!!!! I have a favor to ask anyone who goes to those Duke fest from this site, and that is: …
