See anything interesting? Too much light pollution here at night. Not far away we have this area where a bunch of dealerships are located, almost all the makes are sold except for the ultra luxury and fast exotics. The lights there could make Nascar tracks with lights look dark. Sometimes when the clouds are real low it reflects the light and makes it look almost daylight out in the middle of the night. I've tried taking pics of full moons with my camera but never get a decent shot here.

I guess it'll be ok as long as they don't make the numbers as small as they are in IMSA. Car owners have been lobbying for this change for years to make more room for more sponsors. I find it funny how Dale jr flip flopped on this issue. I remember in one of his podcasts last year he was adamant that the numbers not be moved from the doors but then tweets the other day "I can get behind this as long as the number size isn’t any smaller than what you see here." https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Eal2YKVUcAEkbVh?format=jpg&name=small It looks weird but at least it isn't on the rear quarter panel like they were thinking of doing.

Well looks like Nascar tv ratings are tanking lately. Martinsville only had 1.7 million viewers tune in, the Charlotte race a week earlier just 1.5 mill, least watched since at least 2000 season. Homestead just had 2.7 million viewers overall. We'll have to see if the trend continues at Talladega.

I think people of the world have gone insane. Now sword/sabre handles are offensive . Bad enough it's getting to the point where you can't wear a shirt with any logo on it as it might offend someone as one college coach recently found out. I'll be wearing my Garfield shirt today so hopefully nobody gets offended by that lazy cat .

The daylight scheduled Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead turned into a night race after several weather delays. Denny Hamlin dominated the race winning both stages and of course the race. Tyler Reddick though is the one that stole the show in my opinion. He fought for the lead several times once he made his way from 24th and ended up finishing 4th. Chase Elliot finished 2nd, Ryan Blaney 3rd and Aric Almirola rounded out the top 5. Tyler's RCR teammate Austin Dillon finished 7th. Jimmie Johnson did not have a good race, started 9th and quickly dropped to the 20's and ended up finishing 16th. Dale Earnhardt jr in what may be his final race finished 5th in Saturday's Xfinity race. He would have finished 2nd behind his teammate but a late caution and lousy restart killed his team's luck. Forgot to mention Nascar gave 1000 tickets to military for the Homestead race and will have 5000 fans in attendance at Talladega next weekend.

Black eyed Susan's (pretty flower that attracts pollinators and neat birds that eat the seeds but man they will take over your flower bed if you let them)

Wife and I went for a walk in one of our favorite local parks yesterday. Being a wet prairie It's mosquito haven when the temps are in the 70's like it was yesterday but we had a new secret weapon. Found this product called Buggy Beds Mosquito Repellent Pouch for $4 each at the store. They passed the first test, not a single mosquito landed on us though it was breezy yesterday so there were less than normal amount of mosquito's out but the ones that were out didn't want to land on us. So far I can recommend them, will have to see how they do in future outings as it says they last up to a month if you keep them in the resealable bag they come in. It was nice not having to take another shower to wash off insect repellent when we got home. The only downside is it appears they repell butterflies too. The kitten my in laws found will be in a pet foster home this week at least it will have a better chance at life than its mother who was hit and killed in front of their place.

I've taken my DoH shirts out of rotation for a while cause I just don't want to deal with the questions or accusations while I'm out running errands at stores even though neither shirt has a confederate flag. There's an african american guy that works at one of the local stores I go to that grew up on the dukes too, we had a chat about the show one time when he seen me wearing one of my shirts. He still wants a 68-70 Charger in orange .

On with the Race Review...Blu Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 at Martinsville... Joey Logano won the first stage. Jimmie Johnson came on strong for the 2nd stage win and looked to have the car to beat for the race but then came along Martin Truex jr who took the lead on lap 370 and never looked back. The rest of his teammates didn't fair so well all finishing outside the top 10 and off the lead lap. Penske racing teammates finished 2,3, and 4th with Chase Elliot finishing 5th. Matt Dibenedetto had a good night finishing 7th in the Wood Bros. #21. Jimmie Johnson finished 10th Dale Earnhardt Jr will be back behind the wheel this weekend at the Xfinity race Saturday June 14th.

Oh it is insane. There's calls for Disney to change the theme and rename Splash Mountain because it's supposedly based off of Song of the South. Lady Antebellum has dropped Antebellum from their name. Gone with the Wind has been removed from streaming services. I'm just waiting for the What's Next to be Banned from here on out because it offends one person. Paw patrol hasn't been cancelled yet but their is a bunch of people calling for it to be cancelled https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/10/arts/television/protests-fictional-cops.html right along with Law and Order and other cop procedurals. Cops is still on streaming services such as Pluto tv for now if you wish to watch it. I apologize too if I push the boundary a bit much as I sometimes rant a bit.

This is actually one of the episodes my wife likes watching. Usually I hear a big sigh when I put a Dukes episode in but not this one, she gets a kick out of this one. IIRC from an interview John Schneider was either sick or injured and that's why he wasn't in this episode.

Dukes Unofficial Companion book
Spike replied to RogerDuke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
Wow I had no idea there was a book like that for DoH, gonna have to add that to my Birthday gift list the wife is hounding me for. I have The Simpsons episode guides and Star Trek ones that I read while watching whatever season of those shows. I see there's a 2nd "Guide" book by Billie Ray Bates though it looks like it isn't an Episode guide, more or less just about the show and movies and some of the characters. And found a paperback novel, gonna have to keep my out for that one at the local Book Sales. -
My in laws and their neighbors lost power for a while, guess a tree took out a power line out by them. Sandusky seems to have gotten the worst of the wind, blew down one of the older buildings in town, the bricks crushed a few cars but nobody was injured. Brother in law learned that kittens aren't easy and now I'm trying to find a pet place that will take the little kitten in. The place that was lined up the other day to take it in is now full. Doesn't help that their dog is a mean varmint otherwise they'd probably keep the kitten. Wish their dog was more like Flash and less like Cujo, dang'dest thing is it's the same breed as Flash.

For all the BS that was coming out of all the local weather forecasters mouths all day we were expecting the storm of the century instead of the 2 minute downpour we got. 'Batten down the hatches', 'make sure your flashlights have good batteries' etc.etc... they said. Guess I should be happy we didn't have a bad thunderstorm but we sure could've used more rain than what we got.

Nascar officially bans the confederate flag from race tracks. https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2020/06/10/nascar-bans-confederate-flag-from-all-its-events/ On a side note if you have not bought the new smaller packaging Dukes of Hazzard complete tv series you might want too if you need it, it has been already removed from my local Walmart's shelves. Don't know if it's a company wide thing or just local manager's decisions.

I say let them do it then the ones calling for it will really know what it's like to live in a 3rd world country run by criminals. I know one thing if one of the cities actually does that all the honest hard working people will make a mass exodus out of there right along with a bunch of businesses and stores. I'm actually surprised there hasn't been a mass resigning in the minneapolis police dept. since the protestors are calling for the dept. to be disbanded. What kind of irks me is George Floyd is being honored like he was a Saint but he wasn't, yet Police Chief David Dorn who was killed trying to stop looters is basically being ignored. He's the one who should be getting a a hero's send-off. Have to get everything I had planned to do yesterday done today before the rain comes in since the car was in the muffler shop all day yesterday. They forgot to mention on their FB page that they only do drop offs now and don't allow anyone to wait while the vehicles are serviced. Due to the construction around here it took me over an hour to walk back home the long way and of course when I get home they called and said the car was ready . Told them I'd pick it up when the wife got out of work. Had to postpone a grass reseeding job too today which sucks as it's supposed to be in the mid 90's today.

Yeah obviously they don't have jobs. Everyday this week there's been a protest here or there around here. At least they were all peaceful except for one day. If you had protests in that county that's probably where the new cases came from. I expect within two weeks the USA will hit a new peak of covid19 cases especially in cities where a lot of people protested. Wouldn't surprise me if we have a 2nd lockdown soon. By the end of the month everything should be opened back up here in Ohio including amusement parks. Kayaking sounds like fun, last time I was in the water was in a canoe and had a blast. What kind of kayak do you have Roger? Was a busy weekend for us. From the in laws finding a 5 week old kitten behind the barn of the house they rent in the country and we went and picked it up to find a foster home here and then they decide they want to keep it so we took it back to them today. And my wife's Uncle and Aunt we visited last week needing a ride back home after car trouble. I ended up buying a bunch of plants at this one lady's annual plant sale and clearance plants at a local Lowe's so I'm gonna have a busy day planting them in my pots tomorrow afternoon before dinner.

Kevin Harvick won his 2nd race this season this afternoon at Atlanta, this win moved him to #11 in the all time Wins List. Joe Gibbs racing had a good day finishing 2nd, 3rd and 5th though it looked like Erik Jones was gonna have a good day issues led to him finishing 28th keeping the team from having all 4 drivers in the top 10. Kevin Harvick had a rocket for the final stage opening a lead of 4 seconds over Martin Tried jr some laps. Kurt Busch who finished 6th also seemed to be quicker than several top 10 cars but had trouble navigating past lapped cars otherwise I think he could've finished in the top five if not 3. Next race is Wednesday night at 7pm on FS1 at Martinsville under the lights.
