  1. Wonder how many excuses my dad will make about the arborists that will show up today to give him estimates on cutting down the maple in his front yard. The ones that showed up Friday, one came in a van and the other a Silverado that was a bit rusty . Yes that was his reasoning not to hire either of them, although I think he just doesn't want to spend the money. Heck he keeps trying to get me on his garage roof to trim a branch and I keep telling him no. His next door neighbor showed him that the maple has a crack in it now so it's only a matter of time before nature will do the job for free, only issue is there's a 50/50 chance that the tree will land on the neighbor's house. Found out from a friend that a church up the road partnered with the local park system to turn their unused couple of acres of land into a park. Checked out the walking trails yesterday. They're still working on the trails so they only had one main long and a short trail open. Nice to have a little natural place to walk around within walking distance considering most of the 1+acres of land around here is being developed into god awful gray luxury apartments/condos or multiple single family homes built on top of each other.

Chase Elliott wins his first Cup Championship solidifying the Elliot name dynasty https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2020/11/08/chase-elliott-joey-logano-denny-hamlin-brad-keselowski-jimmie-johnson-wins-nascar-cup-championship-at-phoenix/. He once again dominated the race leading the most laps, 153, after having to start from last due to his car failing pre race inspection twice. The only other playoff competitor that had the car to win, Brad Keselowski, kept losing positions on pit stops in the last half of the race. Jimmie Johnson ended? his career with a top five and arguably could have won the race if the stars would have aligned as he also had a faster car than Chase's at times. Clint Bowyer finished 14th in the #14 car. Matt Kenseth finished 25th in his final start in the #42 car. Cole Custer won the rookie of the year trophy for 2020. Top ten at Phoenix: Chase Elliot 1st, Brad Keselowski 2nd, Joey Logano 3rd, Denny Hamlin 4th, Jimmie Johnson 5th, Ryan Blaney 6th, Kevin Harvick 7th, Matt Dibenedetto 8th, William Byron 9th and Martin Truex jr 10th.
  3. Sure is beautiful weather isn't it. I raked leaves and cleaned eavestroughs today. No mowing jobs lined up this weekend so just going to hit a couple of parks for hikes and relax and watch the Nascar championship races.
  4. Yeah it's been so quiet and peaceful the past week and a half . Wife and I even fell asleep Saturday afternoon on the couch, been a long time since we were able to do that. Not dropping our guard though, the neighbor has snuck his buddy on the property before and we wouldn't put it past him to do it again. Chatted with the lady next door the other day and she was telling us of a recent run in with him before he got banned where he kept asking her if she was scared if him. She said she just ignored him and went into her apartment. October was a crazy freaking month. Our Ring doorbell camera was worth every penny, all the threats it caught that weekend will be great evidence if we ever have to go to court again for that bozo. When we first bought it back in Spring I was apprehensive about it but we had to protect ourselves and show proof that we weren't the instigators. I'd definitely recommend getting one if you're thinking about getting home security cameras. HossC I hope you're friend isn't going thru half of what we had to with his problem neighbor. Only advice I can offer is get a security camera that records video and audio if that is an option for him. Weird weather week here... Sunny 60's-70's degree days forecasted through Sunday so when I'm not working I'm going to try and be outside as much as possible to enjoy it.

You'd have to be blind and deaf not to see this coming...23XI racing going to be a Joe Gibbs Racing satellite team https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2020/10/30/michael-jordan-bubba-wallace-denny-hamlin-23xi-racing-aligns-with-toyota-joe-gibbs-racing/ Mike Wheeler to be crew chief https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2020/10/30/mike-wheeler-will-be-crew-chief-for-bubba-wallace-michael-jordan-denny-hamlin/ Chase Elliott punched his ticket to the 'final four' round for the Championship by dominating Martinsville yesterday leading 236 laps. Ryan Blaney finished 2nd, Joey Logano 3rd, Brad Keselowski 4th, Kurt Busch 5th, Alex Bowman 6th, Aric Almirola 7th, Clint Bowyer 8th, Kyle Busch 9th and Matt Dibenedetto 10th. Kevin Harvick, although winning the most races this season, did not make the 'final four' cut. Which in my opinion is exactly what's wrong with this gimmicky playoff format. They should go to a format of if you won and or top 20 in points you're automatically in the final championship race.

  7. I have the silver version of that matchbox Trans Am. I have two of those Dixie Challengers, one I had as a kid and played the heck out of it and one I bought at a garage sale a few years ago that's in really good condition. If any of you guys wonder what a General Lee monster truck would look like Hot Wheels has an orange '69 Charger monster truck out and all it needs is a few stickers or steady artist hand to transform it into the General Lee.
  8. This past weekend was the craziest 48hrs of our lives. Apparently management got a lot of complaints about the troublemaker and decided to boot them out. There was a lot of yelling/screaming, threats made and cops even showed up a few times. Needless to say we pretty much locked ourselves in and barricaded the door, only leaving to go to work and grocery shopping. We even sent 'just in case' texts to relatives with links to videos our Ring doorbell camera caught to give to police. It has been peaceful since they've been gone but it's probably going to take a few days if not weeks for our stress level to go back to normal.

  10. I seen that on the news last night too. I just don't see how that's gonna do any good other than hurt the economy more. Just make masks mandatory instead of closing everything. Ohio's governor said going back into lockdown will be a last resort, hopefully we never get there. If only people would use common sense and follow the cdc's recommendations.

  12. A lot of drama here last week. Got woken up early by the crazy neighbors a few times and some other BS with them. Probably will end up getting a gun here soon to protect ourselves. We ended up complaining to someone higher up than our manager so we're hoping that might get something done since some of our other neighbors are also complaining too. Was able to find a good hd stream of the Bathurst 1000 so I watched a few hours of that before I went to bed Saturday night. That was quite interesting to watch. Haven't seen much of a V8 supercars race since ABC/ESPN aired a Surfers Paradise race in connection with the Indycar race there several years ago. Nascar execs could learn a few things from that series. Here's a tip if you're getting a new printer you might as well get a new computer if you're still using a Windows XP pc. Spent 2 hrs yesterday trying to install the new printer's drivers on one of my lawn client's old pc. Even stumped tech support too. Eventually figured out there was a lot of legacy junk from old printer's still installed on the PC that all had to be uninstalled. She was happy she didn't have to get a new pc.

Rumor is Erik Jones will be filling the #43 seat next year. A lot of racing on this weekend, Nascar in Kansas, V8Supercars in Bathurst, IMSA at Road Atlanta, NHRA in Texas etc...
  14. Years ago Bob & Tom used to play a song Jeff Gordon's gay a lot especially that one year when Clint Bowyer spun on purpose to keep one of his teammates in the Chase for the championship which kept Jeff Gordon from making the cut till Nascar fixed it the next day and added him as the 13th driver in the Chase.
  15. You know Roger, you and HossC should get together and write a book. I'm serious, Roger your reviews are insightful and HossC could provide the interesting trivia tidbits.
  16. Seen 3 General Lee's at Walmart yesterday. One on the Dukes of Hazzard dvd set, one on a History if Cars puzzle and the 3rd was a hot wheels car monster truck. Even though the puzzle and HW car didn't have the rebel flag you could tell which tv car inspired them since they were both orange . Interesting even in this chaotic time the 'car that can't be named' likeness is still used to make money. Also seen at Walmart a new Monopoly game, Jeff Foxworthy edition . Definitely getting that one for game night.
  17. That car is the reason I first watched that show. What's funny is in one of the first episodes Nash tells another character that it's a 1970 'Cuda when it's clearly a 1971. I also liked the Ranchero that Isp. Harvey drove. The old Ford Nash's dad drove in one episode reminded me of the one in Dragnet.
  18. Yeah I always thought that was odd for Chips, with it being a cop show, that they rarely drew their weapons. Recently I've been watching Nash Bridges episodes since I have a free trial of CBS all access. Every episode some bad guy gets killed. Every time that happens I think in real life the cop would be put on about a week paid vacation while the shooting is investigated to see if it was justified.
  19. Not a happy camper today. Yesterday had to pass on a job with a nice payday for a measly $20 job which basically paid for the new trim board, working for family sometimes doesn't pay off. Found out today that I probably won't be needed for the other job for the weekend as most of it will be done today. At least today I made nearly triple what I did yesterday for the few hours I had available today.

Clint Bowyer retiring at the end of the season will join Jeff Gordon and Mike Joy in the Fox commentator booth https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2020/10/08/clint-bowyer-heads-to-fox-sports-booth-in-2021/ This opens the #14 seat up for Chase Briscoe who has won 8 Xfinity series races so far this season for Stewart Haas Racing and us looking to make the jump to Cup next season.
  21. https://www.autoclassics.com/news/448014/general-lee-true-shade-orange/ Interesting, I always thought it was a cheap color and the cheapest colors that was carried in the paint store I worked at many years ago were school bus yellow and an orange color that a local industrial rental shop bought by the barrel. Both of those colors were about $9 a gallon.
